A Gourmet EXPERT WALKING TOUR of the World Famous ISTANBUL SPICE BAZAAR

With huge thanks to the FABULOUS Leyla of Cooking Alaturka.
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip because she pointed out so many things that only a local expert would know and knew so many of the incredible bazaar traders. It was a truly fascinating experience.
If you would like to do a gourmet walking tour too when you visit Istanbul please contact the amazing and so friendly www.cookingalaturka.com.
They not only do amazing food tours but also cookery classes too and they are a wonderful restaurant as well. They are based in the historic Sultanhamet district. You can follow them too on Instagram @cookingalaturka

Thank you Oliver and Stephanie, this episode is so very rich and full of history. Leyla, your guide and gourmet historian, was the best to show us the many Turkish sweets, and daily spices and herbs used in Turkish cuisine. How interesting learning about the caravan inns, first-roasted coffee, and so many more very interesting things that Istanbul has to offer. Thank you, again.

What a wonderful episode! I love Turkish food so much, & love exploring the Turkish restaurants & shops in the suburbs here in Melbourne Australia. I’ve never tried true Turkish pomegranate tea, so Googled it, & found where to buy it here. I think this is the first time I’ve seen anyone show Istanbul in the snow, it looked to beautiful but also very cold, those charcoal fires out in the streets would be very welcoming .. and wow, that ice-cream seller, what a show … hilarious!😄
