A Fat American's guide to the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 3.6L V6

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I brought my Daughter's 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland back from Nashville to give it a good 150K mile service(at 151K). We changed spark plugs, air filters, wiper front and rear, serpentine belt, Rear Shocks and all the driveline fluids. The wind damper on the "Command View' pano-roof had busted and that was also replaced as well as the 4 TMPS sensors.
I have a couple of Range Rovers and have kind of moved from Jeep sycophancy into Range Rover 'anorak'. My first couple of reviews were on my Range Rovers - so there are a lot of references... I'm not sorry about it.
[3:40] Not a pic a parent wants to see on social media... but he landed that jump and did not break himself or the jeep.
[4:15] My Daughter was driving the 2006 Range Rover L322 (93 Octane Super unleaded - 16.5 MPG) - there is a reason they make T-shirts that say "Land Rover - Making mechanics out of owners for 75 years!"
[10:26] I, ahhhh - can't really play basketball period... I'm more of a shooting guard(that can't shoot!)
[10:50] Quick video of the sound damper replacement.

[11:30} I have been fighting a TPMS 'Gremlin' and I bought an inflator with a bad gauge... The tire pressures are high! Spec is 36PSI (2.48Bar or 2.53105 Kilogram-force/Square Centimeter (kg/cm²))
[12:20] JGC Specific Phone Mount from A-Tach Mounts (not sponsored, but I have bought a lot from them. hint...hint)

I'm here because this video had a 100 views and I wanna support a fat American. You're not that fat dude. Plus I love these WK2s with the Pentastar. I used to work as a tech at a Dodge dealership 👍

Heeeeyyy - we crested 100 views! Pedro - thanks for the kind words. Wish I had your experience with the 3.6. It is a good lump. Easiest oil change on the market! The later gearbox is better on fuel - but this is a great truck. It's back in Music City - hopefully giving them years of worry free motoring. - JDW

@@JDWFolkart I actually watched your video through to the end. You said a lot of good information about the Pentastar regarding the oil filter and spark plug replacement. I'm a Mopar guy through and through and enjoy videos like yours that are more informative and give opinions based on ownership experience. The bigger car channels have gotten more commercialized. Keep making videos, you have a good voice and a lot of knowledge.

@@JDWFolkart PS your comment on the ease of working on the Pentastar is why I love that engine so much. After working at Chrysler in my opinion the best vehicle they, make is the Wrangler with the Pentastar, such a simple machine. PS I don't have much experience on the 5 speed automatic but the later ZF 8 speed transmissions are an absolute gem. My job was just to drop and replace them but that was only ever on the Rams, I think people abuse them by towing way more than it's capable to. Never dropped an 8 speed on anything else.

@@pedromartin4437 my Range Rover L405 has a similar "Zed F"( how the Brits say it) 8-speed. The 6 is awesome too. Used on everything from Jeep to Porsche to Land Rover.

Great story telling as usual! I enjoyed seeing all the pictures from your jeep history at the beginning. You said that you think Sport Mode could help with the driving experience.. Would operating in Sport Mode more regularly cause parts to wear out faster or burn fuel at a noticeably higher rate?

I'm sure that it will burn more fuel - not sur how much more. You can shift on the fly - so leave it in Auto until you are getting on Nashville's crazy highway system. Once you are out of the mele flip back to auto.
