    My first thought was that it was pulled because they found out information about OP that made them delete the post - like perhaps she was lying about her diagnosis or she was trolling the group, etc. Why do you think it's malicious on the moderators' parts? The song she was looking for is called Jordan, that was savage by Whimper. Local band at that time from Denton. And people want to discount this because the lyric is actually “To hide from anything” not “to try for anything” and the rest of the lyrics she sang are spot on. Also some people say that this band wasn’t listed in KXT the time frame she said. So I thought as well. You have to look through the whole week it comes up and KXT played them but it was later in the week. So idk if she just forgot over time but this has to be it I’ve gone over every song they played that whole week.

    Just checked more of her comments, she said its not that song. Many people have suggested it to her. She says it doesnt sound very similar though, so some people think she may have heard a demo version that was changed before its final release. Some people found and linked her a demo which has lyrics closer to her memory but she never replied.

    The HP commercials were due to a partnership with HP for our workstations and render nodes, we literally had this partnership for 20+ years. As for the file path and "101" speculation, that is because rendered sequences are numbered beginning at that frame- there may not be more, it could just be the one frame. Unfortunately, storage directories fill up and are wiped. Additionally, PDI (the other DW campus) has closed. Anything from there is likely gone. However, it's likely they were STILLS, not from an actual sequence, produced for commercial purposes, as custom animation for commercials is under different directories. Things my have changed, but I don't believe we are technically supposed to share/save out our commercial stills, so it's possible this is a screenshot taken using our in-house review suite. Source: I work at DreamWorks, and have done touchups for commercially used stills for two feature films. I'll poke around.

    @@expensivepink7 Serial killer Rodney Alcala appeared in the dating game in 1978 and he actually won the game. On hindsight, some of the things he said were incredibly creepy like when the woman asked him what's his favorite time and he said that his favorite time was night time. Luckily, the woman who actually cose him to be her date survived since when she got backstage with him, he started giving her the creeps so she backed out of the date. In total, Alcala killed at least 8 people, including 12 year old Robin Samsoe. He had also nearly killed 8-year old Tally Shapiro in 1972 but she couldn't testify in court since her parents wanted to protect her from the attention this would gather so Alcala was only sentenced to nine years for assault. He only served two of them before paroled. Alcala also was a photographer. He had hunderds of pictures of women. Some of these are still unidentified. It's very likely that some of these people are Alcala's victims. Alcala was sentenced to death but since California has changed their rules on the death penalty, it's very unlikely he'll ever face the chair or the syringe.

Particularly because this is a 3D model. 3D modelers like throwing around the word "photorealistic," it would be the default interpretation for the intended audience. When the girl sang what she remembered for the song, it sounds like something from 2000s-present emo/pop punk music. That sequence of notes is everywhere, so I'd imagine it'd be pretty hard to find. My guess is that it was probably some local band who may not have released anything officially. There is a remote possibility that the recording could have been on a u-matic and that it could have been off a re-broadcast before they overwrote the master. Especially if there was evidence of recordings of other episodes in the season, they could have overwritten it years or a decade later. Of course u-matic was ultra rare to begin with and unstable. Even if a tape was found a decent condition I wonder if anyone that found it would have a working player or know what it was.

    I am a huge alkaline trio fan and that sounds just like their lyrics, and they're definitely melodic punk. They don't have many guitar solos tho. I recommend checking out their older stuff for something like this, maybe something off Maybe I'll Catch Fire or their self-titled album like Radio, Bleeder, Maybe I'll Catch Fire, or something from their B-sides albums like Remains - I'm gonna listen to their entire discography on my 15 hour car ride this weekend and maybe I'll be able to find something! Edit: my absolute best guess is In My Stomach like another commenter mentioned. It could be Bleeder as well, but In My Stomach has the most similar lyrics for sure. "The Dating Game" one kind of reminds me of a personal case of lost media I hope is found lol. My parents got married in a small town in Mexico and their wedding was recorded on tape. I don't know if any other Mexican families do this, but usually when there is a wedding or Qinceanera, it is recored and then emotional music and flower effects/and transitions are added to sort of make it into a "movie", its very cheesy but I love it 🤣. Anyways now a days its usually made into a dvd and we give it to other family members so they can watch the wedding or celebration. My parents wedding movie was a single vhs tape back in the day and my parents haven't found it. We live in the U.S. and my parents say the tape was in Mexico but no one has been able to find it. I asked my grandma and a couple family members if they have it when I visit MX during christmas and they all say they haven't found it. My speculation is that it probably got lost when my parents were moving from MX to the U.S., they had a lot of junk so it probably got thrown out accidentally. My grandma likes to keep a lot of stuff, she still has my barney toys from when I was like 7 and family photos she won't give to my mom, so my mom thinks my grandma has it and is hiding it for some reason. they don't have the best relationship lol. Not as interesting as "The Dating Show", but I hope the vhs tape is still out there somewhere and is found some day, my parents really want to see it again 😭.

    Just an observation about the Shrek commercial-the still frames are in 16:9, the standard aspect ration for HD television, and while some stations had voluntarily transitioned to HD fairly early in the 2000’s, only something like 36% of US stations were broadcasting in HD by the start of 2009. It’s still very possible that this commercial was distributed in HD, but it occurs to me that instead of being intended for broadcast, it may have been made as a theatrical commercial to be run on the big screen, which is where you’d more often find wide-screen presentation in the early 2000’s. Just an idea.

    re: the "frame 101" situation. I work in animation. often, there will be a "buffer" of rendered frames, from 10 or even 100, so that an editor can go and cut in whenever they please, sometimes a bit earlier than what otherwise would be the "first" frame. They do this in live-action film too: yelling "rolling" to get that buffer, and then "action" after a second or two so they can cut in whenever they need to in editing. In this sense, 101 would refer to the first frame of that shot AFTER editing has been completed, and the excess beginning buffer frames were cut out.

Shrek wanted something professional, Puss wanted something lightweight, and Fiona wanted something easy to use. I might be completely off base, but I'm pretty sure this ad existed.

I will ask my friend Ryan who was an obscure punk collector and did a punk rawk radio show on 89.7 KYMC in St. Louis. He might have the answer they're looking for. There were two shows on that station from 87-89 that I believe have archived shows on the internet if anyone's interested. "Pipeline Radio Fanzine" and my friend's shows were called "The Super Fun Happy Hour" and "Flying Saucer Attack". edit: I just got to the part where it says the post has been deleted but in memory I'm still going to continue the search for them.

    I’m not dieing or anything, but there is this lost commercial that I have been searching desperately for. It is now just a memory that my grandpa and I share together. I have spent a lot of time trying to find it, and I’m wondering if it's gone forever. It was nothing special, really, but we used to watch it over and over again. It was hilarious, or at least that’s what I remember. My grandpa tells me all the time that he wishes he could see it again. I was too little to remember important details, like what company it was even for. What I can remember; There was one guy, or maybe two, working on a billboard. They were on a machine (that for the life of me I can’t remember what its called) that I think looked like those ones suspended by wires that some people use to clean the outside of windows on large buildings. I also believe that they may have been talking to a narrator-like voice, but I’m not sure. Anyway, the machine drops suddenly, and the guy on the machine starts to scream like a girl, and then machine stops suddenly, and the guy is embarrassed. This is all I remember, though my grandpa says he thinks it was some sort of insurance commercial.

    Here's my thing about the Spiderman movie. An actual film copy *has* to exist somewhere. Think of the capabilities of computers in the 70's. Do you know how much data space would be required for a full-length feature film? The fact that the "only copy" was destroyed on a personal computer means that the film, at some point, *was* digitized; meaning that the original could still be out there in the wild.

  • @bewaretheconficker

    @bewaretheconficker

    Right, 10 years ago I found a bootleg copy of a Dan Poole Spidey fan film from 1990 (before he made the better known Green Goblin's Last Stand) and years later put it online on another channel. Dan Poole himself said he had no idea how it could have even been bootlegged because he didn't recall any copies being out there in the first place, and that hadn't even been digitized in good quality. That personal experience of seeing a director not know about closely guarded copies of their work existing out there for decades makes me feel the same could apply to this one, somewhere out there

  • @NXSProductions

    @NXSProductions

    Жыл бұрын

    @@bewaretheconficker Yep. The average feature film would have thousands of feet long in film. Even computers back then still using reels would have to be pretty much M.I.T. or military grade computers where the machines took up entire rooms, generate a *lot* of heat, and would require a cool, temperature-controlled environment. Obviously I'm not implying the movie was filmed on a computer, but a film made only in the 70s *only* existing on a digitized computer media format would have to have been rendered from the original film and sound tapes. Point being, the original reels would have to have been utilized, so unless those reels were destroyed after the digital transfer, I would venture that they still exist, given film can't be recorded over the same way an audio reel can. It would just be a double-exposed, garbled mess. Anyone with any technical knowledge would know this and not waste their time. You bring up very valid points as well. Hopefully it'll surface some day and we'll get to see it. I'd never heard of it before, but now my interest is definitely piqued.

I think it was around the time the movie Monster House was released but the shorts were either stop motion like a Tim Burton style or fully animated. Anyways the ones I remember are about a house that was never approached because if you got to close whatever was living inside would take you. It showed a girl walking past it and being snatched up by some dark figure with red eyes. Then the other one is where they talk about a poor family that couldn't afford a Christmas tree. It panned from left to right slowly as the narrator told the story and showed a family watching TV with sunken eyes. The narrator said that their daughter had died from some illness and rather than bury her they used her as a Christmas tree with lights wrapped around her.

    a note about the shrek one: the description on the artstation account says "photo real," not "photo reel." a photo reel is a collection of photos, which is the meaning you seem to take it as. "photo real" is a style descriptor for many kinds of visual art, including video and animation, simply meaning they tried to make this rendered thing look as realistic as a photo. so it's very likely that he wasnt saying this was a part of a collection of photos, but rather that it was realisticly rendered, whether it was a still image or a video.
