She waits until something has died down enough, and then gives us a major reveal (like Jack posting the YLM timeline, or the existence of Is it over now?). I'm thrilled grateful & fed to be allowed back into her secrets after so many years of being more cryptic

@@Monkey_With_Anxiety I think the quiet release strategy that she initially made for YLM shows that she didn't intend this particular event to be a commercial moment: "all these people cé love's for show but I would die for you in secret." Now same cannot be said for Jack. He knew exactly what he was doing, and lemme tell you, if Taylor wanted the timeline of the events to be out there she'd have other means of getting it out there. I really don't picture her telling Jack to sneak that in his post. In MY humble opinion, Jack wanted to give the song a boost. Plus it is rumored that he never took to Alwyn…

The funniest thing about the whole Ratty situation is that it happened IN APRIL, not June 😭 She was broken up and that happened not even two weeks later. Saying "I love you" after two weeks is truly something...

I think that when she released the rerecorded versions of Eyes Open, Safe & Sound and If This Was a Movie and the previously leaked All Of The Girls all in one day were worth mentioning. The way she was able to get The Civil Wars back together for a rerecord of an old Hunger Games song, how she literally removed If This Was A Movie from Speak Now TV and Taylor acknowledging a leak and giving us one of the songs from it but completely ignoring Need... I thought it was iconic and they were some of my most streamed songs this year.

i started this year with not a care in the world about taylor swift or what she does to fully being invested in her music, life and just her general well being. what an insane year. so happy to be here and share this experience with so many people, truly a blessing. i wished i found out this is what its like being a swiftie way earlier lol

I'm so glad we finally got not one but two proper Tayoncé moments this year. Publications were still reusing the 2009 VMA pictures for stories of the two of them because any interactions that happened since were captured in blurry pictures, including the 2016 MET Gala carpet pictures. Now it's the Eras Red carpet image for the default.

This was like my 1st whole calendar year as a full-on swiftie (not just a casual enjoyer of her music) and all I can say is it was PURE delicious chaos.

Nice overall recap of this crazy year. This is not a complaint btw, but there are some of significant moments that came to my mind that you didn't mention in the video: - her appearance at 1975 concert (presumably pre-Joever, out of nowhere) to perform Anti-Hero for the first time (thought there are already enough multiple Swift-Healy moments in this video so maybe we don't need another one lol) - you already mentioned the Eras tour movie of course, but the direct AMC deal (and skipping the major film studios) was said to be revolutionary - the whole Swiftnomics and the billion $ net worth reports thing

The "this song is about you, you know who you are, i love you" is still one of the funniest, most unhinged things to me because it was so obviously just them f*cking with us bc of the rumors that started literally out of nowhere 😂 AND PEOPLE STILL THINK they were actually saying they loved each other or that those songs were abt each other when there's just no way

i had honestly never been a huge taylor fan, but this year she decided to gun for world domination and i was reeled into the fandom. 😭😭 thank you so much for your messy boots on the ground reporting zac! you helped me navigate her crazy world better than anyone else. here's to u, the unofficial mayor of the taylor nation, for keeping us all in the loop! ur my official tour guide in this taylorverse 👑

Zach, I found your channel via the algorithm during the initial Midnights era frenzy, October 2022. I took a chance clicking on the video (a reaction to the album, I think. I wanted to celebrate the new music with someone who really cared). From there I started listening to Evolution of a Snake, and listened through ALL of the “history of Taylor throughout the years” episodes plus many more. I feel so much joy EVERY time you release a video on here and an episode of the pod, because you bring such a fresh, thoughtful, nuanced perspective to what’s going on in the Taylorsphere and to other pop culture icons and subjects. 2023 was truly for the history books, this was such an amazing year to be a Swiftie. What´s crazy is that during any one month happened more than during first 3 years of this decade, We´ve really been fed after so many years. I´m super excited for 2024 and i think the best way how to start the year will be finally win Song Of The Year at the Grammys, fingers crossed it´ll finally happen.

I love the song that slut! is but when I first heard it I was disappointed because it wasn't the song I thought it was going to be. And I feel like that can't be an uncommon feeling amongst fans because it hasn't had the reaction I think Taylor or her team thought it was going to get. everyone thought it was going to be this bombastic metaphorical or perhaps even literal middle finger to the press... And that's really not what it is about. I really feel like she may have missed used that title like the same song with a different title, maybe lovesick or drunk in Love (I know it's already a Beyoncé song) or Worth it, would have had a different and perhaps more positive reaction.

this year was so unhinged and i definitely think next year will be even moreso especially with rep tv… the context we’ll hopefully get with those vaults will be interesting i’m reeeeally hoping the eras tour extends into 2025. i’m a Canadian swiftie who can’t afford to travel outside of the country and the whole handling and announcing of Canadian dates was such an insane mess. for those who don’t know, she announced six dates in Toronto which had the whole of Canada vying for tickets since that’s the only city she’s come to for the past few tours and then a month or two later she announced three dates in Vancouver which also had the whole of Canada vying for them and now everyone who did manage to get tickets are trying to trade for whichever show is closest to them and there’s still a bunch of us who got waitlisted. I’ve come to the realization that I’ll probably have to be doing a lot of acceptance work in therapy because it doesn’t seem likely I’ll be seeing the show live… at least I can RENT the movie on prime for $20 🤡
