I've never used either Vallejo or any of the Mr. Products varnishes, but I have seen a lot of videos. One dude had trouble with Mr. Super Clear coming out glossy. It was because his can was too cold. Warming the paint returned it to proper flatness.

Very nice diorama! I really love when you add those tiny figures to show the scale. It also brings it to life. I could imagine walking in a desert and suddenly coming across this. It immediately would bring home the realization that the area used to be covered in water... and deep water at that. I think you "solved" the problem with your paint in the video and didn't realize it... when you said you "stuck it in some hot water to increase the pressure" (the last (and old) stuff you used). The new stuff may have needed to be heated up a bit the same way, depending on how cool it was when you tried to use it. I've had this happen sometimes with acrylic sprays when I was protecting paint on canvas. The spray was in a drawer that was a few degrees lower than the rest of the room... and it came out "funny" when sprayed... like not the way I expected it to. From my experience, these sprays need to be a bit warmer than you think, to work right. Hope that helps.

If two cans have the same effect even after using other varnishes, then ask Vallejo as it may be a reaction either to ubdercured paint. I rather use the Vallejo polyurethane matt varnish applied with the airbrush or the Mig lucky flat varnish.
