A Dearth of Carbon (w/ Dr. Patrick Moore, environmentalist)

Dr. Patrick Moore takes issue with NGOs over climate, genetically modified organisms and the "truth" about carbon.
He says we were literally running out of carbon before we started to pump it back into the atmosphere. “CO2 has been declining to where it is getting close to the end of plant life, and in another 1.8 million years, life would begin to die on planet Earth for lack of CO2.”
According to Moore, it is life itself that has been consuming carbon and storing it in carbonaceous rocks. He goes on to say, “Billions of tons of carbonaceous rock represent carbon dioxide pulled out of the atmosphere, and because the Earth has cooled over the millennia, nature is no longer putting CO2 into the atmosphere to offset this.”

    Climate change hysteria scares me in the same way that other ideological hysterias do: nazism, communism, racism, religious extremism. Once there is a group of people large enough to form a self-sufficient echo chamber, these things get out of control: they lose touch with reality and eventually start perpetrating atrocities.

    Today at my job of 20 years as head grower at a large greenhouse in Maine, our high temp outside was 34 degrees. Snow and ice on the ground after an ice storm Thursday. We can't afford to buy CO2 and pump it into our plants to make them ready for sale by Mother's Day, when they have to be finished. Our customers are ordinary working people who grow gardens to feed their families and augment their grocery bill. The cost of pumping CO2 to our plants would raise seedling prices too high for folks to afford. We're a small population, poor state. So every door and louver was opened and fan turned on high to pump fresh air in, dry transpirating leaves, tighten up stoma and feed them what little CO2 they could get. CO2 is king, and vital for our business. Which is feeding humans.

    The reason why we have annual fires in California and Australia is because appropriate Forest Management practices that would limit the wild fires are being abandoned.

    I have to admit as a nature lover the climate hysteria depresses the hell out of me. I'm glad to see there are people with some optimism about the subject. It seems the radical left would rather it be that the world is coming to an end. It's as if they pray for the sky to be falling. You would think they would be happy to learn that we may be benefiting the planet with C02 emissions rather than frothing at the mouth every time someone comes out with good news.

    Amen to that! If the irrational left acts to reduce the Earth's Atmospheric CO2 (Now around 400 parts-per-million [ppm]) to below 150 ppm All Plant Life on Earth will Die & become Extinct causing All Animal Life (including Humans) which require Oxygen (O2, air) which the plants produce via Photosynthesis that will likewise Die & go Extinct from Suffocation and/or Starvation! History will Not look kindly on the perpetrators of the biggest “Scientific Hoax” on the Entire World! The AGW/GWA perpetrators slander the esteemed Dr. Richard Lindzen, because he speaks the truth and he exposes them. Dr. Richard Lindzen Ph.D., an eminent American Atmospheric Physicist, An Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology at MIT and Lead UN IPCC author of Chapter 7, “Physical Climate Processes and Feedbacks” IPCC third Assessment Report on Climate Change - Who Called the UN IPCC and the Man-Made Global Warming / Climate Change positions: Unwarranted “Climate Alarmism”!

  • @byronclaghorn7953

    @byronclaghorn7953

    3 жыл бұрын

    Dr. Lindzen called the Man-Made Global Warming Hoax, the UN IPCC and the Progressive / Democrat positions: Unwarranted “Climate Alarmism”! He correctly said: “What historians will definitely wonder about in future centuries is how deeply flawed logic, obscured by shrewd and unrelenting propaganda, actually enabled a coalition of Powerful special interests to convince nearly everyone in the world that CO2 from human industry was a dangerous, planet-destroying toxin. It will be remembered as the greatest mass delusion in the history of the world - That CO2, [the basis for] the life of plants, was considered for a time to be a deadly poison.”! In other words, CO2 is a Colorless & Odorless Atmospheric Gas that is Beneficial and Absolutely Essential to the well-being of all plant and, in turn all animal life for the Earth is CO2-starved today at a mere 400 ppm. It has been Scientifically PROVEN that our Climate & Temperature is “Insensitive” to changes in CO2-concentrations - In fact, it has been proven that Sun-Induced Changes in Temperature cause evaporation and increases in the atmospheric Greenhouse Gases Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Water Vapor (H2O); The opposite claimed by the AGW Alarmists, Al Gore, etc.

    The only thing lacking in this episode is a call to arms to the Climate Alarmists to debate us upon a Wikia platform where every question can be investigated and disputed by everyone in the world who is voluntarily recognized as having relevant information and perspectives. I *_really_* don't believe the Alarmists would endure for more than a few years after this was done. Even the media and lay public could get involved in such a project, and should. If anyone would care to comment upon what I am missing (other than I know the Alarmists would *_never_* agree to such a debate,.. which can then be used to further discredit them), I would much appreciate it. *_The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary._* ~ H. L. Mencken *_it is difficult to get a man to understand something when his income depends on his not understanding it._* ~ Henry Louis Mencken *_I am certain there is too much certainty in the world._* ~ Michael Crichton, MD. *_There is no such thing as consensus science. If it’s consensus, it isn’t science. If it’s science, it isn’t consensus. Period._* ~ Michael Crichton, MD. *_Science is the belief in the ignorance of the experts._* ~ Richard Feynman *_The first principle is that you must not fool yourself - and you are the easiest person to fool._* ~ Richard Feynman *_I would rather have questions that can't be answered than answers that can't be questioned._* ~ Richard Feynman *_Success is born out of arrogance, but greatness comes from humility._* ~ Marco Piere White *_All political theories assume, of course, that most individuals are very ignorant. Those who plead for liberty differ from the rest in that they include among the ignorant themselves as well as the wisest._* ~ Friedrich von Hayek A hyperlink to spreadsheets/datasets where the public could examine and explore aspects of the Global environment that, in terms of geological time, are known to be constantly changing (say,.. sea levels for instance), might be very useful in getting the public to understand that the planet is dynamic,.. always was and always will be,.. and we have no more power to _choose_ that Global environment than King Canute could ever command the tides. It amazes me that herd animals are so easily panicked. It disgusts me than so many _compassionate_ people would prefer their fellows to be so easily controlled and manipulated by themselves,.. rather than the free, sovereign, and confident individuals that I would prefer to see. *_It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled._* ~ Mark Twain *_The fatal attraction of government is that it allows busybodies to impose decisions on others without paying any price themselves._* ~ Thomas Sowell *_The most basic question is not what is best, but who shall decide what is best._* ~ Thomas Sowell *_There is nothing so bad that politics cannot make it worse._* ~ Thomas Sowell *_The problem isn't that Johnny can't read. The problem isn't even that Johnny can't think. The problem is that Johnny doesn't know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling._* ~ Thomas Sowell *_The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane._* ~ Marcus Aurelius

Plus with newer technology the radioactive waste can be burned up. Solar is of course useful in certain areas as is hydro and wind and can contribute but the big demand in the future will require using nuclear, we have had plenty of experience messing it up and know how to use it safely now with passive and active safety systems

    We must not get away with exhaling CO2 at 40,000PPM concentration without paying for a breathing permit. 40,000PPM is 100 times more than the already considered excessive 400PPM. Stay calm and breath less. Talk to your plants, let them feel better for what you exhale. CO2 is literary what life on Earth must have to exist. Optimal CO2 is in 1200 -1600PPM range. At 150PPM life ceases to exist. Ocean PH is in 7.9-8.2 PH alkaline range. Acidic range starts below 7.0PH. PH scale is logarythmic, not linear.
