In a console sense.. Look up Satellaview. It was a console by Nintendo that let you download games to your SNES (in Japan only) through a satellite. It shut down in 2000, and now almost all the games are either lost or stuck in limbo depending on what games are saved in the memory packs that were used with the system.

Update from 2022: A Day With Spongebob never existed. It was suggested by Reagal films to Nickelodeon, and they made a mockup of the boxart as a placeholder, but Nick said they weren't interested and so the movie was never made. How the boxart got released and Reagal disapeared is anyone's guess, but at least there's some explanation to thing

There are a number of things that make this video creepy. First, the idea of discovering something so mysterious plays on our fear of the unknown. Then his voice. Voice has much to do about tone. Then you have that dissonant fake theme playing to him scrolling across things on his shelf with high contrast video. just to name a few things that make this creepy haha

Pretty sure a porno does more damage to their image than an unlicensed documentary. This was the first Pan video I've ever seen. I like his older, less professional videos' vibes, especially this one, but I'm glad he developed his style more.

I worked for Regal Films up until 2012. It was founded by one of my childhood friends who wanted nothing more than a quick buck. IT'S NOT A LEGIT PRODUCTION COMPANY. It is run out of that friend's house, and the only employees were me and another friend. Pretty much equal to a bootlegging ring, though not totally illegal. Though it is true we made many DVDs that were simply slideshows, we also got our hands on a few semi-major productions that the studios wanted nothing to do with. A Day With Spongebob was made by Viacom without involvement from any of the regular Spongebob crew after the success of The Spongebob Squarepants Movie. As such, the cover art is not even remotely reminiscent of the film. We were told to locate any semi-relevant clip art that looked Spongebob-ish, but not to use ANY ASSETS from the film. The unauthorized mockumentary thing was put there to throw people off. The plot was pretty simple, but still, only vaguely related to the online summary. Basically, Patchy (played by definitely not Tom Kenny) wins a contest to spend a day with the Bikini Bottom gang, and he actually gets to. He fucks everything up initially, but soon fixes it all. It was a mess. The whole thing was pretty much one reference to an episode after another. And when I say reference, I mean verbatim reenactment with Patchy thrown in awkwardly. And like I said, he fucks them up. There's no real conflict, though several Plankton schemes are recreated. The animation was actually pretty good. Not show-level, but official-looking. Every screenshot in this thread is fake. Other than a brief (probably no more than 3 minutes) Patchy segment, it is totally animated. Nobody was played by their regular actors. My guess is this was kind of a reverse pitch pilot. Produced to give the Spongebob crew an idea of what Viacom wanted, but it never went through. Now, why exactly Viacom just gave it to us? No clue. My guess is that they didn't, that's just what we were told. Why it's so hard to find? Only a small number of copies were produced. Same goes for everything we make. It's just that Unfortunately, I had no desire to see this again, so I didn't take a copy of the DVD. The files probably still exist on my friend's computer. For whatever reason, he was ultra-protective of our data, not letting us work on things from home or other computers in general. Trust me, I know you guys are committed to tracking it down, but it's not worth it. It's not terrible, it's not amazing, it's not even that much of a piece of history. I can see if I can do something, but I'm telling you guys. it ain't worth finding

Someone got in contact with the founder of Reagal Films and the film was released but retracted by the company. They're doing a GoFundMe in June to remake the film apparently. Still need the original tho.

I actually work for amazon, specifically in a warehouse that holds items that don't sell well or are discontinued. It never was real. The movie was planned but never actually made. The DVD listing was a mockup in case they actually DID make it. And the tweet from the guy who said he watched it was just talking about the SpongeBob Movie

The creator did an interview explaining it was never made (due to financing and legal issues), even though the promotion for it had already started. He wanted to do a Curb your Enthusiasm style live action SpongeBob satire

What this turned out to actually be horrified me... *EDIT* I was mistaken Nice rover plush, tho

It wasn't the actual movie. It's a shitty porn parody, for some reason, there are a lot of them. Pan was either fucking up with us, or he was fucked up by whoever sent him the DVD and is just making is suffer with him.

I'm the second Hastings employee that posted in /co/, the one he didn't show in the video. If you search 4chan archives for /co/'s Day With Spongebob generals, you'll find some of the later threads which I posted in. Rebel is being a little misleading here; the threads happened about a year ago, and the other Hastings guy and myself DID post progress in the threads. The thing is, we are NOT liars as he so graciously called us. I'll try and find the archives myself but I believe we both got back after two weeks with news that the movie was for sure not coming, and I know I did. I received one of Hasting's "we couldn't get that for you" letters about the movie, and it seems likely that the only reason the movie is in their system is because they copied it from some website, like Rebel said. Find your nearest Hastings' phone number (soon, before they close down from bankruptcy) and call them, ask them to try and order "*Day With Spongebob*", you can get your own letter about it...if they can still afford those what with the bankruptcy. Anyway, this is an interesting video about /co/nomenon, but you're painting with some pretty broad strokes there, laddy. EDIT: I just realized this was uploaded around the time these threads were happening...I got real excited when I heard Hastingsfag and Deux mentioned. I guess the archives may not have even existed at the time of the video, but we totally tried to order this fake movie, guys. I can't even find the archive now, but the truth is out there.

Apparently,this came from a blameitonjorge video,they confirmed that it's fake and one of the people who "worked" on it had pitched the idea but they had never started on it.
