    Love them, especially the gloss red Triang one. A bit short, to fit the Flying Scotsman chassis , but a certain charm about them..

    The Coronation class is my favorite model of steam locomotives. I made a wooden model of the Duchess of Hamilton and have recently purchased an 00 Hornby coronation model.

  • @SamsTrains

    @SamsTrains

    4 жыл бұрын

    Great to hear that Andrew - very good choice! A wooden model sounds superb - what scale is that?! :O Thanks for watching - Sam :)

  • @nitchmakes7550

    @nitchmakes7550

    4 жыл бұрын

    Sam'sTrains it was scratch-built out of wood I had lying around. The scale was established by the amount of wood I had and primitive track I had at the time. I am a woodworker and I had always wanted a model railway, so I began building those models back in 2016. I continued building them through 2017. I think I still have the Duchess somewhere in my garage. I also built a GWR Pannier Tank Engine, 2-6-0 Steam Locomotive, Steam Railcar, 0-4-0 Saddle Tank Engine and a BR Class 08 Diesel Shunter. The main reason I made these was for stop motion animation and because I didn’t have the ability to financially support a model railway. Now I’ve been growing a true model railway. I’ve been eBaying HO and 00 scale rolling stock and locomotives. This is something I’ve always wanted too do, and now I am able too do it.

    Great running session Sam, good that you include the mishaps as well as it shows us all that even the "pros" have loco and coach issues😜 Love the Coronation collection you have, only have one myself but they are all gorgeous. One question..how do you keep all your layout, coaches etc so pristine, ? even the ones on the shelves show no sign of dust, marks etc. do you use a particular cleaner or are you constantly dusting and vacuuming the loft? Do you have any tricks for dealing with the house that seems to plague train layouts Thanks mate.

  • @SamsTrains

    @SamsTrains

    6 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Stephen! Yes I upload everything that happens - those coaches have definitely rubbed me up the wrong way though! The secret is to keep the room itself extremely dust free... regular vacuuming and cleaning does that, and then I only need to occasionally dust the locos down with a paintbrush! I'm lucky too that it's in the loft - there isn't much 'human traffic' up there, so it naturally isn't too much of a dusty place! Cheers, Sam :)

Oh and it was your bachmanns, hornbys & tri-angs 3- one day a E2 loco was walking in a spooky forest, he saw this locomotive and that loco... was your favorite locomotive Ok that is enough #2spooky4me stories. If you are not scared then just go see BoCo's face then you will have nightmares. Tell me if you got scared ;)

    I tend to like un streamlined locos more than the streamliners, I don't no why, I prefer the unstreamlined Duchesses, and I like the A3 over the A4 (A4s are basically heavily streamlined A3s with a streamlined inside), not sure about the Merchant Navies or the Bulleid Light Pacifics the unrebuilt has loads of character, but the rebuilds have that charm of a traditional steamer with very different features. By the way, LMS Maroon is officially LMS Crimson Lake, I'm not sure if that's how it is for BR. And go on old girl! (Directed to Queen Mary.)

    Hi sam I myself have had trouble with those my model railway coaches. I got 14 of them as they seemed a bargain at the time and they still are after a small modification on the wheel set. If you separate it from the main chassis and you'll see two little plastic bits that restrict how much they can turn. I dismantled them so i was able to cut them off with a craft knife. Once assembled again they went round the tightest of curves. If you would like me to show i can but im sure you will see if you had a look. As you can imagine i have 2 lots of 14 coaches to do and only done 4 coaches . But it really makes a difference. Hope this helps . Cheers matt

    Sam'sTrains yh so did mine even on straights and simple pointwork. I just ment as yours kept derailing on that curve that was all. I think that the track plan they showed on the advert and speed wasn'ta problem but i never done it as it was a waste of money to me. Let me know if you find this ti to be an improvement. Cheers Matt
