Part 1 and 2 are great videos showing the operation of the AERC. I'm the engineer in this video. Thanks for sharing. At 4:00 you see a log truck backing up in front of the train. He had to go back in and get his trailer which was still hanging on the crane.

Thank you sir for the comment! I’m glad you noticed that, I didn’t realize what was happening there. That’s kind of funny! Thanks for putting up with us all day long, but it was a great day!

World's cleanest diesel. Looks like they just took it out of the box and were like: "weathering? Meh." It really is a treat seeing four-axle GE power doing *anything* in 2023.

Same to you Kellen!
Seeing those old SP chip cars I used to see 4 to 5 each day be switched out at Weyerhaeuser at Latham. When I lived there in the 60's to 90's it was known as Kimwood. Even had signs along HWY 99.
This was really cool video. I have never seen switching operations. Thanks for showing and explaining the various car movements. seeing a GE B40-8 was also a first.

You’re in the right place my friend! Thanks for the encouragement!
At the old Farmway Feed in Lebanon, right along the tracks, they have/used to have, two 1910s/20s vintage ice box cars enclosed in a building, still sitting on track and trucks, that they used for storage. Be a nice restoration project for a rail museum.
Nice video. Those Dash 8's look good in those colours
Love those old SP and UP woodchip gons! Some of those also head down the Coos Bay branch, they were a frequent sight when I was out on the CBRL back in spring 2022 - though those ones belonged to HPJX, not Georgia-Pacific.

I'm just wondering what happens when all those SP cars hit their 50 year mark. That's only about 3 years from now.
@pacificrailproductions5281

@@richardreid6377 good question. I hope we see them continue, but there have been new chip gons built over the last few years. Perhaps they will be replaced. Ultimately, it’ll happen. It will be sad for many folks.
Hey guys, seeing those chip cars reminded me, they were incredibly heavy! Going uphill with loaded chip cars on the old Tillamook hauler A Long we’ll slip Good cause they break into! The steepest Grade Railroad in the north western United States at that time! Also, going downhill quite a challenge to keep the speed down needing to cycle brake and not deplete your reservoirs! In cold weather, needing to use retainers!

@@pacificrailproductions5281 you have no idea how much your offer means to me! Right now I’m kind of day to day. Someday, so much pain is difficult to even talk and I don’t know what is going to be. Another great video my friend and it looks like they keep that old track up pretty good. Because they move along pretty fast where they can and you don’t see the engine on the cars swaying side to side but anyway we’ll see you on the next video
