The prayers of the Sisters for our world are needed now more than ever - as an Irish Catholic patriot living 21 years in Manchester U.K. and with extended family in Rural Ireland, I’m really concerned for thier safety 3 years after Covid - many of our political leaders have abandoned good governance and have instead allowed great evil to reign in thier hearts - and only by fervent and unceasing prayer can we hope that our leaders will turn away from the path of evil and destruction that they seem determined to pursue

When I was young I was considering the Poor Claires . I thought they did everything barefoot. I just wanted to own nothing, not even shoes. Now I'm a lot older and I understand a lot more. It's important to join young before you get old and cold footed😅. I have many many children now. I'd love for one to join St Francis in holy religious life.

Not all groups of Poor Clare's are barefoot An aunt was in one group that always wore shoes or sandals... A niece is a Poor Clare Colletine and is barefoot. You just have to look at the different branches of the Poor Clare family. Plus...they could use an older vocation.

I regularly order a CD which has been produced by Poor Clare's of Arundel in Brighton in England called Light For The World. It is a truly spiritually , empowering and very calming CD. When I distribute some of these CDS to my friends most of them have the same experiences as I have when I listen to that particular CD. Even though I was brought up in the Methodist tradition in Sri Lanka, something told me to buy some rosaries from the shop which is owned by the Poor Clare's of Arundel. I asked a Sister Leo to get the rosaries blessed. She sent the blessed rosaries to me and she said it was blessed by a Father Stephen from the Benedictine Order in Arundel. I distributed a few of the rosaries to my friend and now that I know the history of rosaries in the Catholic church thanks to my Anglican friend and comrade Ranjit De Alwis from Sri Lanka I now know why I am spiritually strong and invincible through the night and sometimes during the day particularly when I am listening to music!!! For those of you who are conscious about the secret powers of music and for those of you who have known that there has been a spiritual war which has been going on between the forces of our Almighty God and the satanic forces of the devil will know the lyrics of Ron kenolys hymns from America which claims that Satan has been defeated in this spiritual war and that there is no middle ground in this spiritual war. You are either on the side of our Almighty God or on the side of Satan. That is why I was so happy to see the video clip of the Poor Clare's of Cork because it would not surprise me if the Poor Clare's of Arundel as a Holy community would have similar experiences as the Holy community of Poor Clare's of Cork. May God Almighty bless such what I consider very special communities.

I had nuns teach me and am grateful to God for them. I get sick of seeing them portrayed as witches or maniacs. Due to the nuns as teachers I didn't have to fear being bullied, or left out of groups. I learned to pray, do my best and ask for help when needed. Our school was secure and I liked learning. It was a parochial school. Parents and the kids didn't dole out the rules. The nuns were there to teach us to love our God, act responsible, care about others and educate us. They lived in a small sister house and were welcoming to visitors. It seemed to me they were happy women and loved their vocation.

I also had a wonderful peaceful loving experience with the nuns at my elementary school after my parents and grandparents were both going through their divorce’s. I’m thinking that’s probably when I first fell in love with the idea to become a nun. 03/10/23 a Cloister.

This is my experience too. I had the best education in Catholic schools with nuns as teachers. I was so proud of wearing my school uniform as a kid because our school was known as the best in our area in manners, academics, sports and extra curricular activities.

You can pray for yourself direct to Jesus Christ no mediator or priest or nun required as the Bible teaches us in 1st Timothy chp 2 v 5 there one one mediator between God and man Christ Jesus who paid a random for us. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and come into your heart, we are all sinners and come short of the glory of God

This is so lovely I'm an agnostic now and have been since college -- 55 years ago. But I grew up wanting to be a Poor Clare. Sometimes I still do! LOL //// Too bad this way of life is dying. Not just cloistered nuns but cloistered priests, brothers, monks also. Sad in some ways.

You are in the final quarter of your life. Why not give Christ another shot? Just have a quick talk with Him. Let Him know that you are unsure about Christianity, but that you will open your heart to Him if He is out there. It would be simple. When people take down the Do Not Disturb signs from their doors, He comes knocking. Doesnt matter how long the sign was up.

@@michaelpryor78 I'm not 'giving Christ another shot' -- because I've had a great life. I haven't lived my life being told and thinking that I am a POS. Haven't believed in Hell since High School. Haven't had The Church regulating my bedroom. Haven't had The Church trying to control every moment of every day of my life. I OD believe -- thanks to all the science courses I took in college in my early 40s -- I do believe a God exists. However, 'believe' is the operative word. I KNOW that my belief doesn't make it a fact. //// No one on earth -- to date -- has verifiably proven that any God exists. If and when you can prove it, be sure to notify The Pope. PS: If you think that everyone who is not a True Believer is an immoral person, think again.
