Love it! For a second there I thought you guys were going to drive off a cliff with you freaking out ha! I literally was talking to my Japanese wife about these tea farms and what care they require to maintain. We’re quite near in Kizugawa and the Kyoto Nara border. High five to you all. I’m definitely going to stop by for an afternoon with the family. Compi Cheers Machi! ❤

I'm not sure why, but I have the feeling that tea is not the only thing that Matsumoto-san grows on those Kyoto slopes...
Sen no Rikyu, he was a righteous dude. During the 16th century often called the “Christian Century” in Japan, there was actually a biblically based tea ceremony that brought many Japanese to know Jesus. This isn’t talked about so much in Japan but it was the main reason Japan closed its doors to the world and made being a Christian punishable by death up until around the nineteenth century. If you ever want to hear one of the most important and interesting stories about the Japanese tea ceremony during the time of Rikyu… let me know. I’m heading to Uji next month to do a tea experience, I may have to swing around this area while I’m up there. Hey, have you ever done the Yamazaki whisky tour… just curious since your near the area. Awesome video.! Domo Arigato.!
Those tea plants are nothing like what my hippie parents taught me a tea plant was.

Do they have gyokuro? Among all the Japanese green tea, I love it the most. There's a place in Singapore that sells gyokuro that is served to the Japanese Imperial family. TWG sells it at exuberant prices. Too rich for my taste buds.

It's not very interesting. Tea is produced in various places such as Shizuoka, Yame, and Sayama. This place seems to be popular with foreigners.
