A Day in the Life of a Foreigner during Coronavirus

Things are certainly different here in Tokyo now, once the bustling capital city that never sleeps is now filled with an unusual sense of quietness. Spaces usually occupied by people are replaced by vacant streets and empty trains. More stores are cutting back hours and shutting down earlier, while some restaurants continue to stay open full time.
With all these changes in full effect under a state of emergency now, here's what a typical day looks like staying home and making the most of this extra time to stay healthy and productive. #Coronavirus #COVID #Tokyo

That’s a fancy breakfast for a work day, mine is just cereal and coffee. It’s also weird seeing Tokyo so empty, cant wait until this is all over

Your breakfast looks delicious 🤤 Have you tried making tamogoyaki with that rectangular pan? I personally do not drink tap water, I usually drink filtered or boiled. Those cherry blossoms look very nice! High Park is closed this year for cherry blossoms. Do you wear a mask when you go out and run?

Glad you are doing well during these times, that's a pretty good routine. I've been using some of this time working on a couple of personal projects myself.

Being couped up in place as beautiful as Japan is a crime! But I suppose it can't be helped. It's good to see you still have your job and can WFH. At least you don't have crazy people doing donuts in their cars because the busy intersections are now empty. Someone just got arrested, charged, and their car was impounded for doing that in Yonge/Dundas Square... Tap water is fine. Won't kill you. But there's a filtered water tap available where I'm living, so I drink from that. But in my previous place, tap water all day. Nice job with the breakfast! Getting the full usage out of your tomago frying pan there I see. :) Looking forward to your other cooking specials and future videos!

I’m in a very similar situation to you just different continents lol! Right now I’m splitting my time between work, exercise and some language learning. Keep it up over there!

Spooky, Tokyo is so quiet. I agree with the set routine, I try for that too especially on weekdays. Not sure I've seen people use a square frying pan in Canada before?

Gotta get back to exercising at home too, important to keep both a health body and mind during these hard times. Though work is quiet, it's an opportunity to take some time to plan for the future and do some language study of course!

Nice one! I used to drink tap water but some Japanese friends advised me not to do so... I am now using a 4L water container and refill it for only 50 yen at the near supermarket!
