Open relationships work very well for many people, especially for gay men. Like everything else, if it's not for you, then don't have one. If this guy had been single, it would have ended the exact same way! The moral of the story is not about an open relationship, but about hooking up with someone you don't know and being in a bad area at night.

@@dewilew2137 I mean I know what it sounds like too and I for sure have no reason to have heard it from my phone-- it's rather hard to go out in public (even now) and not hear the notification sound somewhere. You have to be trying not to hear it on places like the bus or train sometimes. I think it might be a difference between the hookup cultures between the gay and straight communities. Not to say that gay people don't use Tinder- just that there's a different hookup culture with Grindr entirely. I honestly think some gay men leave their notification sounds on just in case they're walking down the street and come across a cute guy who takes the notification sound as like an auditory 'wink' that maybe they can hit off a conversation. I mean- some guy's grindr went off during a final exam at my university and he said "sorry" in a super flamboyant way that made it seem like it wasn't entirely an accident. That's just my speculation but I definitely know what Grindr sounds like before I know what Tinder sounds like and I just feel like that illustrates the different communal intentions.

@@kumpulanvidiohiburan9801 Yeah the point is that they love each other but having sex with others is fine. Usually those relationships end due to jealousy issues.. When you're 20 and hot you have the self-esteem for it but when you get older and your bf is out with hot guys you start to wonder if he finds someone new. But being monogamous is super hard for gays too because our culture is very sexualized. It's all about sex sex sex. So monogamous gays tend to cheat.. That is why most gay relationships barely last a couple of years.

Her father who did not have custody and who did not advise me he was going to pick her up, took her only minutes after I dropped her off. When we discovered she was missing around noon, cops said they had to wait 24 hours to look for her. It was the longest 24 hours of my life. This is why kids end up kidnapped and in other countries. So his boyfriend and the other guy did the work the police were supposed to do. Just like the person who made this original comment stated! Maybe being discriminated against may be a “nonexistent” excuse for you, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. So why don’t you grow up, STFU, and not make comments about something you clearly know nothing about. As I stated, I have experienced this myself. Alternatively, if you have a phone tracker, use it and share it with someone you trust. - And lastly, ask for their facebook or linkedin before or during a meet up then share it with someone you trust (especially before following them into a private space). Well, if you're smart about it, there's no more risk than meeting someone you met in person. The key to online is to ensure you meet in a public place and also do a bit of getting to know the person first to ensure they are who they say they are (i.e., Skype). Once you're at that step, it's actually NO more dangerous than meeting someone new at a bar, restaurant, event, etc. This guy did not play it safe.

I wouldn't say desperation but rather a new form of dating; and no grindr and adam4adam are not dating sites (though nothing is impossible). With the social media age its much more difficult to "meet" someone your into at a random event. For those of us who don't want to meet people at bars or clubs where shall we go to meet quality people? With so few options for meeting real people in life you have to use dating apps. The older generation doesn't understand because they never had to use them and for gay people it was much harder to find a partner.
