A Custom Picture Disc Vinyl Record
Ғылым және технология
A quick look at a 7" 45rpm picture disc I got made up with my own picture and music from vinylart.co/
UPDATE - 17 November 2017 - I've been informed by a viewer that the Discount Code has now expired - sorry.
Oh and a couple of viewers suggested that I should sell merchandise, so as a trial I've made up a t-shirt with the same picture as on the record tspr.ng/c/techmoan-green-muppet
Although to me the prices seem bit steep for a t-shirt that just makes you look like a nutter.

The needle hit the lead in groove, and I yelled "CUBA BAION!" then held my breath expectantly. You did not disappoint, Mat. 😁

What would have been really funny would be a puppet ending in which the guy on the featured record had purchased a record with Techmoan's photograph on it.
Nice that this service is available. A fun unique gift. I like your policy of not accepting "gifts, review items" etc. Nobody can question your integrity on reviews.

I think he only really wants to do videos on subjects which appeal to him. But he also doesn't want to be stuck trashing a free product. It's a good move.
Missed opportunity. Could have had a sketch at the end about the Muppet being sick. "I feel like someone's spun me round and round".

Right round baby right round like a custom-printed vinyl baby right round. That's true, though. When he first put it in, I heard in the muppet voice: "WWwoooOOOAAAooooaaOOOAAAoooaaaOOOOOAaaaahhh.."

Clever use for the WorldEye! I think I've said this before but I adore your new outro. I end up watching it all the way through every time. Just gorgeous.

I have to thank Anders Enger Jensen for the Worldeye logo. On this video the outro takes up a fair percentage of the overall play time...but I suppose anyone can drop out if they didn't want to stay until the end. If you do watch it, you might notice the clips changing over time, as I review new tech if something suitable crops up I'll add it in or swap it with one of the existing clips.

I like that too, hope he does a followup video. I was so impressed with the Worldeye that I bought one!
This is actually pretty neat
The entirety of the video I was cheering for the song to be Cuba Baion and I burst out laughing when I heard it. Good stuff Techmoan!
I've really grown to love this channel. Your content never disappoints, your voice is perfect for narration and the products you review are always something I've had in the past, or something I wish to own in the future. Can it really get any better than this? 👍😉
Watching the muppet spin round and round, with that expression, is gorgeous
wow. amazing. this is literally the best track to put on this vinyl with such an image.
Am I the only one that laughed with the muppet spinning round and round and round on the turntable?

Oh how fitting. The photo you chose to put on the record is that green puppet from those skits you have at the end of some of your video, and the song that's recorded onto it is the background music from those skits!
Damn, now I want a Techmoan Vinyl with both the beautiful intro and outro music of the show on it.
Thanks for adding the link to the outro sound effect. I've been racking my brain trying to remember where I heard that sound. Bring back some memories, that does!
You could not have possibly picked a better image, that was brilliant!
I started laughing obnoxiously loud when the puppet song started playing. I love picture discs. My band (Old Blood) actually sells our own. A lot of bands put out different color versions for the same album, like we do. It's a great collecting community.
I don't think you could have chosen anything better than that: the image and the music are just perfect for your channel
Thanks for all the videos you put out- I enjoy watching all of them
Hey Techmoan, I think this is fantastic, thank you for the presentation !! This is also a nice way for a musician to treat himself with a nice memory, a Vinyl record of his own song and a picture frame, what a nice idea !! :)
I dont know how I missed this, your muppets give me nostalgia overload.
that's really weird how the video starts exactly at 11:11:11, according to the clock behind him lol
Bloody hell your sets look nice. I like this new angle as much as your sitting-at-the-desk one.
As usual awesome vid I really love learning about old and even new tech and in this case just a wild use for old tech once again awesome thanks.
Techmoan on the way to becoming a national treasure, as always great video's
0:05 - Anyone else notice the time was 11:11:11? 1:09 - Best. Unboxing. Ever. I had no idea there was a company that did this. Pretty awesome, and a nice gift idea.

This channel has some of the most high quality videos on youtube, honestly
I have recorded loads of nice little 1:30 minute original tracks, this is a great way for people like me that didn't make it on Top Of The Pops and to actually have a nice little 7" 4 track E.P picture disk of my own original music. Thanks again man for highlighting a great service!
I like the new outro! Brings up the most exiting episodes :) Though i ever wondered about and never discovered the episode where something got smashed by a sledgehammer.
nice, the video starts at 11:11:11 (clock upper right)

what an awesome use for the world eye. everyone has probably said it by now but that looks awesome... almost makes me wanna by one to play around with! love your videos they are awesome to watch after a long day at work.
Okay, I was questioning the usefulness of that Gakken Sphere, but you just sold me on it lol. That Techmoan flash you have going on back there is awesome!
Love what you did with the WorldEye, looks awesome.
You should check out 345rpm.com - short run lathe cut records, you can get a plain 7" for £15, double sided LP picture disk for £45. I've been getting 5" records made by him for over a year, great stuff.

brilliant music choice for the record!
As soon as you mentioned you got a song into that vinyl with the Pedant on the disc, I thought "it is Cuba-Baion! It has to be Cuba-Baion!" and you did not disappoint!
The moment I saw the picture on the record, I already had an idea what track it would be. I also realy like what you did there with the Worldeye Projector. It's a nice idea.
I can recognize that Tefifon music, loud and clear.
EXCELLENT use of the globe thing! Love it :D
still loving your credits :) feel like im watching something well made, as always thanks for the video
This might be the perfect gift for my dad, he's a singer song writer who swears on analog sound. Getting his music on a record is probably a dream come true for him. :D Thanks

i see that beautiful use of the orb projector in the background
1:10 I knew before you opened this thing what was going to be on it and I'm pretty new here so I was quite proud of myself.
Now that's one cool looking orb. Gonna check out the corresponding video right now!
Great music choice! I love the photo as well.
Love what you've done with the Worldeye.
one of my favourites channels... epic as always
I love the record. I recognize the puppet from the end of one of your videos about being hip or something of that nature.
Excellent choices, sir.
Mat uses the same cartridge and needle I use on my turntable. I was starting to feel like my setup was a tad bit lackluster, but seeing that Ortofon cartridge made me quite a bit happier with what I've got.
Love the implementation of the world eye :D
I liked what you did with the gakken worldeye in the back ground thats neat
Just ordered mine. Thanks for posting!
That's really awesome. I see what you mean about the white mount in the frame. but it's still really nice
Easily my favourite KZreadr at the moment.
awesome tune, reminds me of my persuasive percussion records!
Great use for the WorldEye! I think how you're using it is the best way ;)
I was expecting that song. :)) I really like it.From the Tefifon.

That is a pleasant sounding recording.
You picked the perfect song for this.
Well themed Matt!
That is the perfect picture for that record.
{sees large amount of time left to actual end of video, gets excited there might be another puppet show} {continues waiting patiently for another puppet show, someday, maybe}
Pretty cool. I've always enjoyed picture discs.
Superb picture for the disc. Absolutely superb. :)
As soon as I seen the picture I thought you might have put that music from the Tefifon on there. That is pretty cool. That soung has sort of become your theme...catchy too!

Thanks for sharing some of your version of enjoying life. Inspiring....Kudos to you.
Insanely brilliant
I’ve been looking for this video for a while
Absolutely love it, and it's a great idea too, I have a few custom music tracks I've made on Magix Music Maker (therefore are Copyright: Me!) and have thought they'd do nicely on a bit of vinyl... :)
I rolled my eyes and smirked when i heard the intro lines to the song
I stumbled across something interesting a few weeks ago. Up in the top floor of a barn I own I found two Voice-O-Graph records. A quick turn of Google and I learned they were from coin operated recording booths that used to be at amusement parks or boardwalks back as far as the 1940's. Unfortunately, the two records I found are covered in cracks due to being around 70 years old and never stored properly, so I cant play them. Coincidentally enough, a little while after I found them I was watching Mr. Rogers Neighborhood on Twitch and there was good ol' Fred Rogers, demonstrating a tabletop unit that cut a record into a blank as you spoke or sang into a mic. It would make a huge pile of cut material that was just one extremely long, thin strand of vinyl. It was fascinating as I never knew any of these things existed. And they still make units like the one demonstrated on Mr. Rogers for DJ's to cut custom vinyl but they'll set you back $10,000. So I was wondering if maybe there are old units and blank media out there from decades ago you could get your hands on. Would make a great episode I think. Anyway, keep up the great work.

I'd love an old record cutter - but you're right even the old ones cost a fortune, after all a record is a record...so it doesn't really matter how old the equipment is, if it works then it's as good as a new one..so the prices don't seem to reduce with age.
This looks like a fantastic gift to make to vinyl geeks :)
The new outro is the best evar!
Oh man.. awsome idea for the record image
Techmoan has the coolest backdrop.
yo good work on the track!
Good one Matt very interesting. Keep em' coming. Thanks.
The worldeye makes a fantastic set piece like that.
Love it! The cover...PRICELESS!
as always thanx for sharing with us!
Hey Techmoan, I saw your video on the DBX disc and the DBX noise reduction system and the video on cassettes and the different types of Dolby noise reduction. I was wondering if you could do a video comparing the DBX noise ruduction and the Dolby noise reduction and seeing which one is better. I have been thinking of getting a DBX box for my hifi and I recently picked up a Sony tape deck with Dolby S (which needs some repair) and I would love to hear the difference in sound quality.Thanks. P.S. Love the retro hifi videos and hope to see some more in the future.
knew it! I was pretty sure that was the song you'd put on there the moment I saw the picture.
I think you do a great job with your videos, keep it up xxx
I think you picked the perfect image for the record.
this is a cool gift idea
Incase anyones missed it theres a link to a techmoan tshirt in the description, from what the website says seems theres only a limited amount of time to order
The image you used suggests that it could be a great merchandising opportunity. Strong image, bright colours and would look great on a mug or a t-shirt. To sell or to give away to your Patreon sponsors. Cheers!
thats actually really cool!
When you mentioned you thought about what you wanted printed on the record, I already guessed correctly just exactly who's face would appear on it :)

There are several small companies starting to do this kind of thing. I got a one off 7" made with my band's music at a place called One Groove Vinyl with good results, though the label on the disc was of an average inkjet printer. (The jacket, while probably also inkjet printed, was nice and vivid though!)
Checking the site now, there does now appear to be a music library you can choose from.
I love it! I've always wondered what that track is called, can you share its name?
While watching your outro, I was wondering whether the audio bandwith of a vinyl record would be enough for oscilloscope music... :)
this was a very good use of your money. good job!
it probably doesnt have runoff groove so the picture doesnt get scratched but what do i know
