I... I am so touched, thank you Crytek... this series has a very special place in my heart for me!
As an artist and game developer, I have one wish for Crysis 4. That crytek don't just make/add graphics effects blindly without truly grounding them to real-life reference material. I don't know how many times I look at modern games, thinking "that's not what an ocean looks like", and then you boot up Crysis from 2007 and it just replicates large bodies of water much better than modern games! I mean, even when looking at Crysis remastered (by Saber Interactive) the ocean and streams look worse, especially with RT. Because it looks like a flat image has been slapped on top of these bodies of water without taking into account how refraction work in those circumstances. It's just a small example and some nitpicking at modern "realistic games". But I bet you get what I mean. Anyway, I'm super excited, I have confidence in the next Crysis! And I have confidence in Crytek! I know it's not gonna happen, but I would also love a Crysis VR game as well, with massive mod support. A game that could basically carry VR as a whole like Half Life Alyx has been doing these last couple of years.

@@slaktaren4849 Well, say that to game developers that come and go during a production. Does that take away their role or their expertise as game developers? I am currently a full stack developer and have over 10 000 hours working on various game projects, often acting in a contributing role. I transitioned from being a system developer to a game developer in 2015 AND I think 8 years experience developing games + 15 years developing systems should cut it to be able to call myself a game developer. Limbo took 7 years to create. The base team were 7 people, and at most they were over 20 people involved in its production, many of them not left to see the final release. My current project, Unsung, which swallows most of my time has similar ambition level as ubi-art games.... Child of Light, took 3 years to create with 60 people involved, however, in Unsung I am pulling most of that weight by myself. Is it done yet? No. Does it have to be? No. Because I have made an active decision to build the development process around creativity rather than "business". The reason being that I look at-, and practice-, life quite differently than most. But yeah, in the end, how much experience do you have in this area to confidently classify what a game developer is? :)

Cryengine has always been my favourite engine. What would be amazing is geospatial map generation and procedural generation tools (for more than just vegetation) so worlds can be generated on the fly without having to rely on 3rd party software. Additionally, incorporating AI like AutoGPT would set Cryengine far ahead of all competitors, and believe me now is the time to do it before others win the race and dominate game development in the future. I would love to work for cryengine in creative development, but I am not a coder having basic knowledge of code, yet the creative juices flow. If there was an apprenticeship to join the crytec team, I'd jump at the opportunity.

things like language models aren't really supposed to be engine features. they're more work for plugins. plus it wouldn't put them ahead of anything. there are already games out that use chatgpt to power NPCs. a few dating sims and one detective game that has an early demo out with all dialog being handled by a language model. you can, no, you HAVE to literally ask npcs questions using your mic to conduct your investigation, and they will respond to ANYTHING dynamically. it's super cool

@GraveUypo That sounds super cool and fun indeed, definitely within the capabilities of GPT models. Aside from that, ChatGPT can write code for full games and this has been demonstrated on KZread. Auto-GPT on the other hand goes beyond user input and creates its own tasks, executes commands, browses, and scrapes the net, recruits and communicates intentions with other AI to complete tasks, writes code, and finds and fixes errors. You just require the ChatGPT API as well as integrate associated apps for full functionality.

I really hope everyone remembers and realizes that Crysis really is what kicked off the PC master race "race to the finish line with your build of choice". Before it, sure we had Half Life 2 and Doom 3, but Crysis 1 set the standard for nearly every graphical boundary being pushed at that time and I still vividly remember in PC gamer there was a Crysis Custom Desktop build giveaway that had SLI 8800 ultra black pearl's and even it could only push sub 20 fps at 1080p. That was a $10,000 build. Once everyones finances and the economy bounces back, I believe here in 2-4years we'll be ready to see a true new graphical standard. One that will again create hype around wanting to see what no one can see. Not just a "hey that looks really good. Looks like a crisp next gen game." But something so revolutionary that it takes 2-3 years just for hardware to catch up to it. And i'm not just talking about upping the triangle count in the concrete barriers in crysis 2 by 100 times to make our systems chug with no real visual feast bonus. I'm talking about an engine that makes nanite and lumen look likes childs play. Make Cryengine unbeatable. It will create such a media uproar unlike literally anything we've seen since Crysis 1. (Hardware is so powerful anymore, to the point everything looks "good enough" and "samey" and we all hit diminishing returns when we add that new node into our work pipeline" I'm talking 5090 RTX's at sub 20fps at 1080p. Because. It. Just. Looks. That. Good. and you can tell it's something almost otherworldly. Cresting the other side of the uncanny valley. Truly photoreal. AI integration for the tens of 1000's of little bits of animations and nuances that are just too tedious to hand animate and introduce real life mimicking on the fly. Nearly infinite variations of animations, scripting, character interactions, and dialogue. Infinite line deliveries through AI audio. Just lines of text and dialogue and the developers hit play. Or better yet. Straight up true AI characters in game. Let each play through be something truly unique to each player. A character that thinks organically like a human. None of this hey! We can cheaply scale everything now if we hit our demographic resolution for 4k for current gen consoles and then scale it down to 1080 for series S and steam deck. Then 720p and 540 for switch 2 docked and handheld. In conclusion, sub 20fps@1080p, Full AI integration, mass hysteria by manufacturers trying to meet gpu clock demands to earn the customer's dollar. One that is simply trying to run the greatest looking game we've seen in 20 years. Midnight rant and rave, over and out!
