    How do you get the bound paper out without ripping the wholes?

    Thanks for this question Gail - I should have explained in the video, right? I use a wire cutter to snip the wire and then twist the coil out of the stack. The double wire binding just requires a snip on the end and then I use pliers to just pull the whole wire out of the holes. Thanks so much for watching.

    You do the ribbons and fibers same as me, but I have never gone back in the opposite way. Thank you, I will have to try that soon. I do, however, break the rules sometimes and use ribbon on round holes when I don't have complimenting fibers to go in them. Yes, I totally agree that it is a bit tedious, but so worth it in the end. I'm so excited to use some of that extra extra narrow ribbon I recently thrifted. ☺♥

    Thanks. I’m not sure but I think you mentioned one time about hitting the ribbon with a heat gun to crinkle and flattening your ribbons. Do you have a video on that. It always amazes me how you can get so much in a book without the gator mouth. Thanks as always

  • @BeAgainBooks

    @BeAgainBooks

    2 ай бұрын

    I know I made a video, quite a while ago now, about how to tie those pretty crinkled ribbon bows. But I’m not sure whether I mentioned how to crinkle the ribbon. The flattening happens over time as it gets smashed down. The seam binding flattens pretty quickly. Sometimes I touch it with an iron - quickly. But I try not to actually iron them - just let it happen naturally. A couple of thoughts about the gator mouth. I really try hard to avoid that and so I’m constantly making the decision to let be and not over decorate. You might notice that I have a lot of room for writing and I tend to leave those writing pages alone, or use a stamp or other flat decorating technique. So I just don’t decorate every page and that helps a lot. I also deliberately limit the bulky items that I use. If I want to use bulky items on some pages, then I choose other, more flat, embellishments for the rest of the journal. It is a challenge, though isn’t it?

    Well Linda, that’s a challenge, haha. I have small plastic drawers that line the wall in my closet and other drawers around the room. I think ephemera is the biggest organizational issue we junk journalers have… As for flow journals, I don’t make and sell them at this time, but that’s a good suggestion!

    How do you get the wire out without tearing the paper?

  • @BeAgainBooks

    @BeAgainBooks

    3 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the question Peggy. I just use wire snips to snip the end off the wire coil and then it easily untwists from the whole stack at once. The double wires are a little more complicated, but once you snip the ends off, the wire just bend back and you can slip the pages out or just pull on one end of the wires and they pull right out.
