Jeremy and I, along with our Executive producers Doron and Sherry Steger are so excited to share this film with the world today - we are so thankful to the Michaels family for opening up to us and letting us tell their story. When we started this project three years ago, we dreamed it would land at The New Yorker and we are so glad to share it with this audience. Jeremy and I will be available on this thread over the next few days, if anyone has any questions or comments. Thanks for watching!

Thank you team! How did you go about crafting this narrative and what relevance do you see it playing today in a, now, redacted Roe V. Wade era?

Thanks for watching it @@gregorybordelon and for your thoughts - we were already making the film before the Dobbs decision, and then when that occurred we realized we snapped back exactly the same place that we were in 1970 - so it instantly became more relevant.

What a profound story, thank you for finding it and taking on the monumental task of creating this to share. I am moved, and am inspired to find politicians who have taken stands such as his. Very powerful stuff.

Great reminder of how much of the fight for reproductive rights has come undone recently, and will have to be picked up again.

His law practice suffered less than they feared and continued on - his son Lee was in practice with him and continued the practice after his death in 1992..

George's family gave all of his papers to the museum where they have been carefully catalogued and protected. They were so helpful to us in the making of this film!

It's not an infant if it can't breathe on its own, duh. A clump of cells the size of a golf ball isn't by any definition 'an infant.'
