A Complete Nicktoons Timeline (Nicktoons 101)

Ойын-сауық

Hey, friends!
I thought that it would be fun to make a short video where I do a quick recap of Nickelodeon's history, but as I do with nearly every project, I ended up going way farther down the rabbit hole than I expected to. That's why on our nostalgic walk down memory lane, we're going to check out the origin story of Nicktoons...
I hope you all enjoy this video! I put a ton of effort into this one.

All jokes aside this would be a dope college course for those who are studying animation, digital design, or entertainment overall. What Nickelodeon did back then along with Cartoon Network is what shapes today’s animation for both kids and adults.

From Pinwheel to Rugrats being the start to the og Nicktoons empire. To SpongeBob's rise, to reign of conquer of Nickelodeon that pushed the series into meme culture and to pop culture immortality. As a fan of SpongeBob, I really didn't expect SpongeBob to actually elevate to pop culture immortality that overshadowed The Simpsons, without needing any guest celebs or parodying them in its prime.

Between this documentary and the one Saberspark put out earlier today on Klasky Csupo, I got a major blast from the past history lesson. I was the prime target early 90's child and Doug being the first cartoon besides Looney Toons I could remember. I remember a lot of these cartoons fondly alongside the live action shows like GUTS, LOTHT, Double Dare 2000, All That, Figure It Out, and more. I know a lot of people will say their generation's childhood was the best, but late 90's kids really had it the best in terms of entertainment.

It's funny how many shows Klasky Csupo was behind on NickToons. Each of them being great in their own ways. NickToons to me was something that was experimental in the 90's, where each show was so different from the other, and as more time passed we see them going for more safe options to mostly focusing on the live action series, and filling up the line up with SpongeBob. Would love to see more history even if it isn't just Nick

You are the king Shawn. I have quit tobacco & moved to weed (it's all good, I'm officially medicated). My mood has shifted & watching your videos has brought a new innocence to me. Nickelodeon clearly had a much bigger impact on me than I anticipated & love watching your deep dives. Please can you do an Invader Zim episode one time? That was my favourite show. So edgy & dark with some awesome scenes (water-balloon episode?) Anyway, keep being amazing.

@@EdnaK728It isn't here. I'm from the UK but it is being trialled as a new medication for anxiety/C-PTSD. It is ONLY private at the moment so is expensive to even get the prescription (£500+) plus a lot of check boxes to get (doctor's reference/therapist etc). Once done though, you are essentially invited to buy medication grade weed at a website & does feel very weird to get your postman delivering an Oz of weed plus oils & vapes. Once on it, you can essentially customise the indica/sativa levels (THC & CBD %) & it can be done. It is pretty expensive, buying on the website (+50% than street price) but the quality is worth it. Still get street stuff from time to time as it's more convenient (& some strains don't exist with the private prescription yet).

The sad thing is Nickelodeon started out with one of the best cartoon line- ups the world has ever seen they have a great cast of characters both old and new but now they don't want to take advantage of that anymore it's just pathetic the only cartoon they seem to care about these days is their mascot SpongeBob.

Not on TV or anything, just saw some show/presentation at nickelodeon studios and I guess they invited kids to come up to get slimed, I think in one of those plastic kiddie pools or something like that. But I have a lot of fond memories of those 90s and early 00s shows. Such huge parts of my childhood!

Some of my best childhood memories involve Nickelodeon in the background. My big sister and I would watch Kablam! every time it came on the screen and I memorized Hey Arnold! episodes so well that when it was on Telemundo, I could translate it in real time. And All That and Figure it Out shaped my sense of humor. It was sad to hear about how a lot of The Powers that Be behind the network were on that predatory Cupcake Bandit energy like dear ol' Danny Boy but overall? I am always gonna love Nickelodeon. Looking back, I think the Nickelodeon shows I find myself still watching to this day as an adult either as a new(ish) viewer or a nostalgic viewer are Spongebob, Avatar The Last Airbender, As Told By Ginger, Legend of Korra, Rugrats and All Grown Up. Honorable mentions are Kablam, Jimmy Neutron, The Amanda Show, and Kenan and Kel. The other shows I either never really got into or just no longer really think about. Also I know some of these shows have nothing to do with Nicktoons but just felt like mentioning them anyway 😂

I'm surprised that My Life as a Teenage Robot lasted as long as it did. I don't remember it even still being on tv by the time I stopped watching Nick.

I will admit that I’m happy that Nick is kinda going back to the older feel and they’re even making more shows for both Nick and Nick jr also Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon have actually been neck and neck in the ratings as of recently when Disney channel’s ratings are in the decline and have been since 2010
