I sobbed nonstop at this beautiful tribute. I don’t typically feel strongly about celebrities but Jimmy was an exception. Tears began to leak from my eyes the moment I recognized the first song of the medley to be ‘A Pirate Looks at Forty’. How fitting to choose such a thoughtful, introspective song as the first part of the Jimmy Buffett medley. Everything was executed beautifully, Jimmy would be proud.

I was a Bodyguard for 25yrs. I've had the pleasure and displeasure of working with hundreds of people and celebrities over the years. I lived my 20s and 30s in a Jimmy Buffet song. Jimmy was one of the nicest most down to earth people I've ever met. This tribute also had tears in my eyes as well😊

I agree Jimmy was one of the bests. Jimmy was Far from underrated. Buffett sold over 20 million certified records worldwide, placing him amongst the world's best-selling music artists. "Margaritaville" (1977), is ranked ~234th~ on the Recording Industry Association of America's list of "Songs of the Century”. That’s not even mentioning the rest of the “big 8” and many others. His lyrics and lifestyle are what made him unique and set himself and his music apart. Isn’t it great we got to share in his time and music. Rest in peace Jimmy Buffett and Thanks for all the memories.

His songwriting was unmatched. And his concerts were glorious! He never did it for awards anyway, he really did it for music and his fans. I've started listening to Jimmy Buffett since the 70's, before the term Parrothead was coined. RIP Jimmy Buffett😢❤🦜

I'm sad whenever any singer, actor, actress or sports figure dies. I never cry that much though. Jimmy has been the exception to that rule. It feels like I lost a friend. I've cried so much and I know there will be more. Wednesday night, as soon as Kenny started singing, I was crying my eyes out. Yes, even during Margaritaville. I realized that I will never get to hear him sing it in person and it took my breathe away. Thank you for a beautiful tribute. REST IN PEACE JIMMY. We will never forget you.

My grandpa was a Parrothead and I still think of him whenever I listen to Jimmy’s music. He died less than a week before Thanksgiving 2021 and when Jimmy Buffett died last September, I felt like I lost a part of my last surviving grandparent. I always thought I’d be too young to shed a tear for Jimmy Buffett, but I couldn’t hold them back watching this video because I thought of my grandpa and how much he loved Jimmy’s music. Hope the two of them are having a blast up there

I had a friend who’s band opened for Jimmy at the Civic Coliseum in Knoxville Tennessee in the 70’s. I got the honor of meeting him at the Hyatt before the show. He was such a gentleman and an authentic person. That night it was around eleven o’clock. His performance was awesome. Suddenly the lights came on to get him to end the show. He said , “Turn these lights off, I’ll tell you when I’m finished. I’ve got these musicians and these roadies who get Union wages, and they’re getting what they’re do. I don’t these folks who’ve come to hear me are ready to go home yet.” The crowd went crazy and the lights went out .He played several more songs plus encores. It’s a night I’ll always remember. RIP Son of Sailor!

I normally don't watch the CMAs, but when I heard they were gonna do a tribute to Jimmy Buffett, I knew I couldn't miss out. Not only did I record it on my DVR, but I sat through it, waiting for the moment it would come on. Trying to guess what songs they'd perform for him. When it finally came on over an hour in, I called my parents and sister to come and watch, but only my mom did. I kept the recording saved for weeks until I managed to get my Dad to watch the whole performance (he's a Jimmy Buffett fan).

What a wonderful tribute. It made me feel very sad though. Jimmy Buffet was such a kind giving person. Very positive. He donated a lot of his fortune to charities. He was always very kind to fans and really appreciated them like no other singer or actor I have known. It’s gonna really be difficult to know I’ll never see him again up on stage laughing and smiling telling funny stories singing those wonderful songs.I won’t hear his voice singing songs from the new album up on stage. He would’ve had a blast singing them. If I could bring back any three singers who passed away. The first choice of mine would be Jimmy Buffett. Second Elvis Presley. Third meatloaf

Interesting that you chose to quote Jesse Winchester lyrics instead of something written by Jimmy.

@@NetCerpher I love this song SUNG by Jimmy Buffet. It's my favorite version regardless of who wrote it. I'm quoting the LYRICS to the song.

So many memories of drives down the coast (West Coast for me) to warmer climates listening to hours of Jimmy Buffett songs. Loved them all but my favorites are "We Are the People our Parents Warned us About" and "Cheeseburger in Paradise".

I can't hear jimmy without thinking of my father. he was a HUGE fan and parrot head. Jimmy was the last loss my father ever felt. and he felt that loss deeply. my dad went into a coma around two weeks later and never came back from that. just a couple days before dad died I was in his hospital room, saying goodbye to him for the last time, and from my phone, across the room, I hear music spontaneously... "mother mother ocean.." A pirate looks at Forty started on its own. gave me chills. he passed a couple days later.
