Telling somebody to get a hobby is such good advice. It's known that a lot of anxiety is due to focusing on your "problems" instead of putting energy into something useful and/or creative.

At a charity event in Palm Beach some years ago I met Lilly Pulitzer. She was really lovely and peaceful. Wishing I had a picture.

I was born in 1964 in Winter Park Florida. At that time it was possible for ladies to purchase Lilly's fabrics. My mother would buy the fabric and make us matching wrap around skirts! I still have the placemats she made from the fabrics. They are so beautiful, much better than what you find today in my opinion.

I love wearing a Lily because the colors and the prints scream optimism, fun and happiness and Light! It is inspirational how her ‘Hobby’ became a kind of art therapy for her Depression!!! 🧜🏻‍♀️👙👑👛🌂🧜🏼‍♂️

A GREAT story! I had no idea about Lilly....she sounded wonderful and lovely. It's refreshing to hear her story in a world of tragedy.

I wear Lilly dresses all summer and add to my collection every year. 💖

My college roommate was from Nantucket. During those four years, I was privileged to vacation/holiday on breaks and summers there, on the Vineyard, or on the Cape, many, many times. My chosen career landed me in Cambridge, MA for 37 years. That friendship endures to this day. Your analysis of “the look” is as effortless (and colorful) as a LP casual shiftz Thank you. ♥️🙏♥️

Lilly Pulitzer has a wonderful sale every year at her warehouse. Ladies line up at 4am to get in. It's great fun. Thank you for this wonderful video!

I wear a lot of 60’s vintage, and one of my treasures is a Lilly from that era. I always get so many compliments when I wear it. It’s cool, comfortable, and so well made it just needs a bit of mending here and there. Loved learning more of her story!

I still own some of her old pieces. Love all her colorful prints. Thank you for sharing this video.

When I am in Palm Beach I always "window shop" on Worth Ave. The clothes in the "Lily Pulitzer" store are always a standout. Beautiful design, colors and fabrics. Thank you for posting.

I think I had a Lilly Pulitzer shift in the 70’s for a summer dress. I was never really big on prints, but for summer and I was in my teens to 20s then, and at that age you’re more susceptible to fads.

I had Lilly shifts growing up. I always felt so stylish!

Thank you very much for the hard work you did creating this. I discovered her fashion as a kid obsessed with Jackie Kennedy. I never knew anything about her and her story is very fascinating. The prints and colors were so beautiful and happy. This was a joy to watch❤️

So happy to see you've uploaded a new one -- and such good timing as we head into Spring. I have a few Lillies including a pair of black silk pants with embroidered flowers. -- The fact that the attendees at her funeral wore her is so incredibly sweet.

I love Lilly Pulitzer. Many of the photos in the video evoke Palm Beach, Florida and the Lilly look but are actually Slim Aarons photos taken in Palm Springs, California at the Kaufmann Desert House.

I love and own several Lily pieces!

I remember Lily Pulitzer dresses etc. which were worn by several of the Kennedys, Jackie and Ethel, too! Those shades of pink print cushions on the lounge chairs in that famous photo of Jackie wearing the yellow and white checked ensemble was a Lily Pulitzer print fabric! She also did some interior decor prints! We had a Lily Pulitzer store on Cape Cod when I was in my teens and there's still a Lily Pulitzer store in Chatham on the Cape to this day! Her colorful iconic print fabric goes hand in hand with summer at resorts! Thanks for the interesting bio~💗💗

So interesting and inspiring. I have so many Lily Pulitzer clothes from over the years. I get them altered rather than give them away when they needalterations. Just as you stated, they are the clothing of some of my happiest memories. They will be passed down to my daughters who are older now. I would to like to have some vintage dresses from when she was designing exclusively. If anyone knows of any sources, I would be interested, but I’m guessing I just have to shop and look in vintage clothing stores. Possibly in the Hamptons or Long Island

Was the “nuthouse “ in Westchester county NY Four Winds?

Was her husband married to the much younger Roxanne Pulitzer? There was a famous scandal early in the 1980s that was totally blown out of proportion.

The clothes aren't made nearly as well as they used to be. They're flimsy now.
