Just bought myself an r56 cooper s and I’m blown away how fun it is to drive

I really like the R56, it is very different to the R53, the build quality is better and the torque of a turbo is more relaxing although I do like the small size of the R53 and the supercharger makes it very unique. Are you planning on changing anything on yours ?

Epic video mate, I really enjoyed that one. Great to see the enjoyment etched on your face. A cracking social too with some very special cars on display.

Great video! I really liked the exhaust camera on the mini! It sounded very good 👌. The walk arounds very good as it felt as if it was all one big clip and just seeing your experience! As you know I was there as well, it was a great day, I hope you enjoyed it!

I have had more expensive cars and more powerful cars than my Mini Clubman (which I have modified a bit), but the only other car that comes even remotely close in terms of fun to drive was an Audi TT and then only because the all wheel drive felt a bit more planted at times than the front wheel drive in the Clubman. I love how you can personalize them to make each unique and particular to the person who owns it. As for names check out some baby name sites, or pet name sites and you will get lots of suggestions.

It’s a lovely car to drive and I look out my window in the morning and want to find any reason to go out lol. will make some cheaper changes as most of my budget went on buying the car 😂 but overtime it will happen.

Changes. 1) put it on 16" wheels and 50 profile tyres. 2) put it on 16" wheels and 50 profile tyres. 3) put it on... you get the picture

Which GP are you talking about as both were not completely stock ?

Once you come out with the “review” video where you go over everything about the car, will you be putting links for purchase to things like the exhaust, spoiler, etc? I know you probably don’t know exactly where they’re from because you didn’t do the mods, but I’ve been looking into mods such as those for my personal r53 and I just love the way yours looks and sounds! Thanks!

I will find out as much as I can although it’s going to be a challenge as there has to be 50 or more lol. Love the car though all though not perfect 😂

Fifteen52 Turbomax wheels 17’ 8J (co-designed by Ken Block), not sure you can get them in that size anymore

They have been sprayed and you can buy stickers online to make look factory

There's a guy on ebay that fixes the key housing

Nice car. The Gen. 1 cars are the best, IMO. Had mine since new in 2005. The 2007 and on MINIs just aren't my taste, with the possible exception of the Clubman JCW (but there are other cars I'd rather have for the money).

@@DamoDrives It's a R50, but it's heavily modified, suspension, brakes, ECU tune, cam, intake and exhaust, better wheels and tires... and bigger injectors (275cc). All that's really left to do is get a brand new, custom-built engine (i.e., bored and stroked). After all this time, I hope to never part with the car.

I was going to film a video this weekend about what’s been done to the car but snow and my car are not very fun. I have 440cc injectors already and might be going up to 550cc with the new map depending on what the company doing the work say. Your car sounds well sorted 🤜

Sorry I don’t know, only problem with the colour is it does not really pop even when detailed

I installed coil overs on my 04 r53, it handles very smoothly but when i REALLY lower it, like slam it, i get weird vibrations, when i raise it a littler bit it goes away. any idea on what it can be? I'm thinking i might need new axles, maybe shorter or longer ones.

@@DamoDrives installed spacers and it went away, I’m guessing my tires were slightly rubbing on the larger aftermarket suspension. This seems to happen to ALOT of r53’s so I’m hoping some people find this comment lol.

My wheels are 8J so really fills the arches and before the ride height was increased it rubbed a lot of the time.

What wheel spacers are you running to fit those wheels?

No spacers , they are 8J so fill out the arches (ideally they would be 7j or 7.5j but they do look good

The letter “J” means a tyre bead profile. This is the marking used to define the wheel collar profile. They don’t make these wheels anymore so you if you want a set you need to find someone actually selling them

The strut in the gp helps stop crap in the back tearing your head off in a frontal impact! I like everything about your car but would definitely raise it up a bit

I am taking it to a local company for them to look what is possible , the wheels from a driving perspective are a little too wide BUT I love the look of them so willing to compromise 😊

@@DamoDrives these cars are a lot of fun when you can throw them into corners without worrying the trim will fly off. I run TEINS myself, with other suspension mods, and can take corners at silly speeds, without any sliding or loss of traction, rubbing or otherwise.

Also have Comp-brake Adjustable top mounts ,Vibratechnics Mid engine mount Vibratechnics Lower engine mount Power flex Top engine mount Power flex Gearbox bush , GTT Front Strut Brace and a number of other changes. I am hoping it will handle well when pushed but at the minute can only drive at 50% max

I run kw v2 but my ride height is much higher I can drive it at any speed on any road no catching etc.

What wheels are those ?

Slow, it has a problem with induction and clunking suspension and possibly wheel bearing.
