This week was one of my most productive weeks ever! I painted a total of 5 still life paintings from life. I challenged myself to paint a lot of round objects, which is something that has always been difficult for me. This time I think I did pretty well! I also painted flowers, transparent jars, clocks and angels. I focused really hard on staying loose and not getting caught up in the details, which is a very common mistake for loose painters. Overall, painting from life has really been one of the best things I could have done for my progress, and it is continuing to help me improve drastically. I hope to keep doing it so that I keep on improving. I hope you enjoy this video and that it inspired you in some way. Happy painting! 💕

You did such a wonderful job painting those round objects! I definitely agree with you on that they can be very tricky but they turned out amazing🥰🤍 Also, 5 paintings in a week is a lot, congrats!!

Hi Ana, it is a really great thought that you have increased the intensity of your work by creating five works in a week. This suggests that you have been busy working Alla Prima. So presumably you are working straight from the tube using these oil paints. Still life is a great way to improve ones painting techniques. Love what you do. Thank you for sharing this. By the way Ana, I would still like to see you do more horse painting, particularly as you posited the idea of a challenge to do so a while back now. As always, looking forward to more exciting videos and painting demos. x

Thank you Jada! ☺️ Hmmm that's a good question... I would say yes because I find still lifes to be easier and portraits to be really complex! So that's probably why I've improved "faster" with my still life paintings

Thank you Karine for your kind words 💕 I would guess it's pretty much the same. I honestly haven't painted with traditional oils in a while so I don't have a clear comparison of dry time in my mind. But it also depends if you use medium. Depending on the kind of medium it could make it dry quicker or slower. Depends on the painting but on average my paintings take about 3-4 days to be dry to the touch. I hope this helps :)
