At the beginning, where they say customers used to be around until bonnie's bakery... didn't the other Bonnie game show that Bonnie kidnapped people who didn't like her goods/ate at other bakeries to cook into pastries? I'm only 2 minutes in but I think that was the implication, which would explain the lack of customers

8:37 - I just did a Google search, and apparently, it takes about 2 and a half hours to make a batch of macarons from scratch. So while it's shaving it a little close, it's totally possible, especially with the lack of business the main character does right now.

@@laneyclair8543 Tbf they said that was their standard policy for orders rather than a specific estimate for this order. Three days is pretty standard for small businesses, because it gives you leeway to do things like order ingredients and absorb any issues which crop up.

Went back and rewatched the DLC, Ron is the cat, Abby is the bunny (she also had a younger sister which Bonnie tried to help when she was injured in the OG game), the dog is Lea, and the panda is Abe. The purple figure may be the protag which you play as here, and also the one who escapes in the OG game. I'm only guessing though, because in the DLC the rival is shown as a purple mouse, but also it doesn't make sense for the protag not to recognize their friends in the OG game. As for the fates of the other characters in the OG game (Bonnie's Bakery), Abe had his legs and arms cut off, Ron had one arm and leg severed, Lea's arms were both gone, and Abby's legs were both cut off.

The "It's empty, like my soul." perfectly timed is peak comedy, the devs knows manly well

...Wait, Abby is the one with the delivery job? Interesting, since I was under the impression that it was the dog (Lea)'s job to be delivering things around, but I suppose that was just for whatever company she works for just running her all over town. First impressions and guesswork: Obviously all the characters are the animals from the basement/that get kidnapped in the DLC. Ron is the cat, Abby the rabbit, Lea the dog and Abe the panda. The "Employee" is probably the white cat that was already in the basement for the tutorial. I'm guessing they tried to run away, but got caught before they could escape. Aaand unfortunately, they apparently already told their employer that they were leaving, so no suspicions got raised on that one. And judging by how Bonnie investigates her targets, she probably knew that he works here too. xD The fact that the cat is Ron is really neat, though. It means he was telling people behind our back to check out our bakery and helping to spread the word, like with the raccoon, even calling it better than Bonnie's. He truly does like our bakery and is just too proud to admit it~ SO yeah, the implication is that the town is full of real people and it's just Bonnie perceiving everybody as animals. I'm guessing it's due to the guilt of killing that first "bunny" that came to her bakery that she killed to put out of her misery (Abby's sister). Pushed into a corner when she believes that nobody liked her bakery until her "meet buns" happened (maybe originally as a way to dispose of the body?), she starts feeling the need to really supply that, and perceiving the world as animals makes it easier for her to see them as just ingredients. Then again, the player character in the original game also saw them as animal characters. Though that could have just been a simplification of things. The funny thing is, the beginning of this game could imply...it wasn't that Bonnie's pastries were BAD. I remember in the DLC update, she mentioned that she didn't have a phone. Which meant she had no social media promotion going on. So she might have been in the same situation that we're in here when she first moved in, only she had an unfortunate accident show up at her door, being presumably Abby's sister covered in injuries; injuries that might be related to Bingus perhaps. It's also apparent that Ron didn't like her food (or at least her bakery) much, so maybe that caused her problems too~ One final thing is the intro of the game which seems similar to the ending of the demo. I don't think they're anybody to be concerned about. They are a shadowy figure associated with purple whose only obvious features are eyes. This might be the person who either is currently investigating or will be investigating Bonnie~ Also worth remembering from the DLC: The dog met with their "friend" on the night of her capture, who was perceived by Bonnie as a pink mouse. Presumably the same pink mouse that spawns when you knock down all of their posters in the DLC. So I'm guessing that at some point during this game, we end up making plans with Lea to go investigate that creepy church~ A creepy church that had another rabbit with their limbs severed that we presumably didn't cause. And that church happens to curiously be associated with Bingus~ Haha, all in all, this was a fun thing to go through today. I had fun taking this deep dive into the deeper lore of Bonnie's Bakery and reviewing stuff from the last game~ It'll be interesting (albeit very tragic) to learn more about these characters prior to their abduction~ There's a few interesting questions I've still got, like whether we get to learn more about Abby's sister and how she got injured. I quite enjoy what this prequel is up to and look forward to seeing where it goes~

the last update of bonnie's bakery heavily hinted that bonnie is a cultist and there was also the church and posters with the carrot symbol matching whatever she was wearing

I love what the dev did here for Manly and his response to seeing them using his profile icon was priceless. 10/10 game.

Manly is a common thread between all games, he’s canon in each one. And I’m super happy to see this series continue! All the baking will be done!

Unless the employee is romanceable which might be hard with the whole moving and quitting thing, I don't think there's issue with him being a cat as well if he's a different color/species. I mean there's already a normal brown bear and panda bear in universe.

Hi Manly! I just wanted to say I read the community post and congrats on the 2M! I’ve been here for years and you’re my fave let’s player so I’m truly thrilled for you! Also, I understand life maybe hasn’t been the greatest for you lately. Same. I’ve been going through a whole ass lot. In the span of 6 months I lost both my parents, two dogs, my boyfriend and my job. I just spent around 2 weeks in the same ICU room my dad died in with a still undiagnosed severe infection that required a chest tube that drained two pints of fluid from my chest to prevent my left lung from collapsing. I still have to go back in a couple of weeks to schedule surgery to remove scar tissue on my lung from that. I’ve developed severe depression and social anxiety due to my losses and non existent immune system and never leave the house. I’m about to lose the house and my car and my two remaining dogs and I could be out on the streets soon if things don’t start turning around. All that being said, I wanted to let you know that you’re one of the few things that bring me joy. I binged you all day and night when I was hurting and couldn’t sleep in the hospital. When I’m feeling sad and lonely because I don’t have anymore family or friends, I load up your channel and you always make me smile and remember that life can be enjoyable and not just all gloom and doom. You also make me think of home since I’m from Florida, and it helps me recall the amazing life I shared with my parents growing up there. So I get the vibe that things may not be great for you right now, but I wanted to tell you that you are making a difference. Even if it’s just for me, you’re a big part of why I’m still here on this big ball of granite; a reason I still have hope that one day I may be able to run barefoot in the sand on the gulf again. I hope that maybe that knowing how much of a difference you make and how much of a blessing you are makes you feel at least a little better. Thank you so much for unknowingly being here for me and I’ll be thinking of you and sending all the good vibes your way. Maaan. I always love the little nods and references towards Manly! "Soul Successfully emptied" and using his icon for the texts is so adorable!! I love the horror game community sometimes.

Just for myself: Ron Gaceta > Orange cat, First Caught. Lacking the right arm and left leg in the main game. Abby Brunnit > White Bunny, Second Caught. Lacking both legs in the main game. Has a missing sister, who is much probably Bonnie's first victim. Lea Bodegg > Brown Dog, Third Caught. Lacking both arms in the main game. Abe Pardon > Panda, Fourth Caught Lacking all limbs in the main game. Main Character > Unknown Definitely not the same MC from the main game, otherwise they would recognize at least Abe, and the protagonists have different real world perspectives (Humans / Animals) Most probably survived the encounter with Bonnie, since in the hunt segments of the main game, the MC's bakery is still present. And as mentioned by the user suitov somewhere in the comment section, their names are anagrams pointing out which animal they are.

Time for getting traumatized again by a cute game.

OK, i'm starting to connect some pieces here the reason the "ingredients" in the last Bonnie games are animals is because Bonnie sees them like animals, she kills them to get food, she doesn't have any connection to them while in this game, we, a normal person, do see people like humans (ofc some have animalistic features like Ron or the Employee, but they are still depicted as humans) this timeline starts with this game, then the ones of Bonnie, and then the one of hunting Bonnie opens her bakery as usual, it's a normal day until it closes, she goes hunting and this game happens, I believe that in the final version she will capture us and the first game will take place where we escape (the other is just some new endings idk, I forgot to re-watch it) then the hunting one since there are things written like "I will expose you" showing off of how we escaped in the first one also I want to point out how well planned the game is, I mean, it always sort of had these easter eggs on Pyun Pyun and other people, also, I believe the "ingredients" we find in the first game are the character's here, Abby being the bunny, Ron the cat, Abe the panda and Lea the dog

i loved the easter eggs at you xD, but this game seems very interesting, i like these games with stories that turn dark surprisingly rather than games that start being all scary from the start

ABE ABE ABE!! He was the limbless guide in the first game, the overlooming threat in the DLC, the least obnoxious one in this game, so his character feels like the coolest If he turns out to be super annoying, I can comfort myself by remembering he loses all his arms and legs in the future

Been having noise sensitivity issues recently so many KZreadrs who I’ve grown to love over the years that have louder voices/personalities have been difficult for me to watch to the point where I just can’t watch them anymore without getting a migraine even on a low volume. I’m glad your channel is still something I can come back to though while I go through this, keep up the great work Manly! ^^

I went back to Manly video on the DLC for Bonnie’s bakery and- at the part where she puts on her bunnie mask and says something along the lines of “Constantly watching” four animal silhouettes are in the background and they kinda match up with the four main characters here.

That's actually pretty interesting since I remember there being a rival bakery in the dlc. So I wonder if the main characters bakery is the same one seen in the dlc.

On a side note, if you enter your name as the name of one of the people you meet in the demo (Ron, Abby, Abe, Lea), you unlock their secret stories.

Might be a coinkidink but Ron Gaceta is gato carne (cat meat) unscrambled in Spanish.

Pretty sure the detective was the panda that you can save in the second half of the game. Since in that Fresh Ingrediant game the panda was implied to be trying to track down the serial killer hence is the detective. Also his hair is a big give away~! Also thank you for playing this I'm definitely backing it! And seems we are playing the rival baker which was shown as a mouse heck the text bar is with a mouse showing it is us! We are a little mouse to Bonnie Rabbit motif.

I really love the character of abe hear He is so interesting, got sense of humor and somehow charming. It is such a shame to know that his arms and legs will be cut in the future

Lea has to be a dog. Best friend and defends you. her bangs even look like dog ears and the pony tail being a dog tail

I adore it when games have a Manly mode/Easter egg. It just adds so much fun 😊 plus I love hearing Manly react to them. Can't wait to see the full game.

As someone who hasn't watched any of the series prior, I'm glad that this ended up being a "prequel" (or maybe alternate spinoff like Manly said at the end), so this at least gives some context going into those Bonnie's Bakery games

The profile pic is a super cute touch- I can tell that they made it themselves, rather than just gabbing Manly's REAL profile pic, bc of how they drew the teeth (and other subtle differences). It's great that they added this little extra detail without doing it the 'easy' way, really shows how much love they're sending Manly's way.
