Like the idea of the larger canteen version option. I would suggest naming it " The Matriarch".

Mother XL would be good. Even if you use it with the Heavy Cover canteen set, extra space for whatever else you want to pack. You could also go haversack-ish with a Velcro divider to adjust to any canteen kit or bottle kit.Great stuff as always CLS crew!

For my hard cover canteen the MCC is plenty big enough, I can carry a gps, compass, ranger beads, emergency blanket, fire starters and lighters, signal glow stick, whistle, milbank bag, knife, rudimentary first aid in my mcc I am probably forgetting a few things. Then I have shelter, more first aid, backup fire starting and navigation equipment in my G2 roll. I focused my kit around scouting so navigation was prioritised.

Hi Mark it's me John from Singapore I suggest making a larger version just name it Gen 2 MCC, the point of making gen 2 MCC is to fit everything in nicely without any difficulties taking in and out and it'll be nice if it'll also fit in that German style canteen set! If you have it people will buy it thats how the money comes! Good luck 😉

Bigger isn’t necessarily better, but with your design behind it I’m sure it will be as good if not better then the MCC . I was assigned to 2nd ACR , back when there was a East and West Germany. Our Motto was “Toujours Pret and I think that motto fits you gear as well ...... Always Ready

This might be totally off the mark but what about a side zip access to the main compartment? That way, you nest everything and "side load" it and it stays snug. Or, a heavy duty shock cord system similar to the G Code scorpion rifle mag holsters. That way you have some adjustment space?

I truly loved the “mother” canteen carrier with one exception. There was no hood or cover to keep out rain, dirt/dust or debris. I ended up getting helicon-Tex canteen carrier. The mother is hands down a better product. If you put out one with a cover I would by 2 for me and 1 for my best and son three for my grandkids.

I went with the HT Essentials bag for the same reason. (off trail often, hook 'n ducking) But it makes the Heavy Cover plastic cap unusable under the flap if wanted...properly covering interior space(s). (6" retractable saw and 6" ferro in front sleeve) ~ Odd how neither cap is chainable to the HC bottle like GI canteens...so as with both bags loaded with stuffs I don't yank out the canteen for a drink. Shoulder worn it's two fisted while traveling. Now sort of three handed.

Just make a new "mother", designed for this canteen/cook kit.. This design is already pretty close to the u.s. military "butt pack" from decades gone by..a proven design.. I would like to see a new canteen pack that offers more internal space, which would kind of blur the line between canteen case and small backpack..

If you can get the bigger cup upside down in the carrier then there is no reason why you cant get the bigger cup to nest in the smaller cup with a little extra effort. You didnt turn the larger cup on an angle to get it in. I think after some time it would be easier due to being forming fitting kind if thing. That's just my observation

This isn’t a cooking kit. You sacrificed a stove for another cup. So now you have to carry a burner or buy a stove that wont fit as the canteen is squared not bean shaped

Correct, it is a canteen with a two cup system... which I don't make, but at any rate. And also correct, it doesn't have a stove so yes, you have to provide your own stove... or just make a fire. Thanks, Mark
