Cops take you in and wait for your camera to record over it (5 hours) basically passively erasing your recording of them tasering you while you fully complied. They won't turn off your car.

Hopefully this video will still be relevant in a couple of years time, that would make the time I spent on this one worthwhile.

On a couple of occasions when i forgot to put my memory card back in my dash cam, i felt like i was driving without my seat belt! They really do make you feel as though you have a bit of a safety net & i wouldn't be without one now.

I bought a car camera last week at a car accessories store here in Manila for about US$65. I should've paid attention to your "Cheap Car Camera - Fail" video because this one is a dead-ringer, though the video quality on mine is actually better. At least I have something to use until I can afford a better camera.

I think motion activation is a fluid term defined by the way a particular camera implements it. Parking mode is not a common feature on the cheaper cameras I test, but they usually have an option for motion detection, but they power down completely when the ignition is switched off.

Ray, for some reason I can't respond to your comment directly, so I'll reply here. I think that all of the playback software for the GPS cameras I've tested is Windows only. Non GPS cameras rarely come with any software. The video files created by most cameras can be played on any machine that has the appropriate video playback software. Macs will play .mov and .mp4 files natively.

Wow what an informative video! Thank you. I hadn't a clue how dash cams worked - re. recording loops etc - I imagined that I needed to manually delete footage every few hours lol.
