These are better than our multi-thousand dollar dash cams in our police cars. A friend picked up the non-4K version for his personal vehicle and after I saw his, compared to our patrol dash cam footage, I was blown away. I picked up the DR02 "4K" version and am amazed at the quality, size, weight, and ease of use. Good product.

The1CK They do but more from an auditing and liability perspective. Ours has tamper and heat resistant cases and integrates into the ODB-II data cables for stop/turn/tail/emergency lights and siren activation. Speed, location, audio, and video are the same between this and our units. But really if the mic is used on this dash cam for a police car then you would hear the siren. Forensically speaking the data on this camera would most likely hold up in court because it would be easy to find a tampered video. This dash cam is in my personal truck. I really like it.

This is probably the best review of anything that Iv ever seen lol damn funny we had the same thought process in every respect I looked at the exact $10 dashcam, watched some reviews and decided not to buy then I narrowed it down to "discreet" dash cams between for less than $100 Because I also didnt like how most dashcams I looked at online hanged down all open Then I found the Aukey and it brought me to this video. bought it for $50 lol probably the best dashcam there is when you consider everything

Thank you. Very informative. I tried to install behind the rear view mirror on the right side (right hand drive car), then found I couldn't put the mirror in the correct position as it fouled on the camera and the mount was so well stuck it wouldn't come off doh! Had to use the other supplied mount on the left side where the mirror is further away from the windscreen.

Ok I don't get the parkinking feature. If I power my camera full time it records non stop day and night. So parking mode and sensors are useless. Do I need to switch it (power) every time I park? I have two side by side cig. lighter plugs, one stays hot all the time , the other only with the ign. on. I plugged into the always on, but even with the parking mode on it records 24 hrs. a day? How do I get it to turn off when parked encept when someone bumps or comes near. With out recording non stop??

hi, my internal battery probably is out power, everytime i start, settings are reset and need to confirm all anytime, i open it, battery is soldered, cant change it, any suggestion? thanks

"One thing I noticed when looking at it from outside of the car is that the standard gray 3M adhesive does standout a bit" Just sent a chill down my spine. I didn't realize it would stand out THAT much. Looks like I'll have to resort to using adhesive velcro straps.

@@cktechcheck For what it's worth, Aukey must have watched your video. I picked one up as a replacement for an older dashcam (battery vented on that while I was driving.. that was fun) and the 3M adhesive strips are now darker gray. Still not black, but not bright white either.

Did you ever find darker colored adhesive sticker for windshield?

Is there a parking mode? Will it need a hardwire for it?

I like aukey They have great customer support

I wanna buy this dash cam but someone said it lose the settings after a few days, day and time, did you have this problem?

Hey man, my car charger on my console always stays on (it charges my phone if I leave it in my turned-off car), so I know it will keep my dash cam constantly powered on. Any tips for this? Unplugging it from the camera whenever I enter/exit the vehicle seems a bit tedious.

There was a USB media port in my center console that I plugged it into. It turns on/off with the car. Worked like a charm. Thanks mate :)

Good video very well explained. I purchased the aukey DR02D I want to know if the motion detection work, did you try it. Please give me some details or else the park mode does not make sense . Because the 128 micro sd card is not big enough, to record 24 hours.

@@cktechcheck I purchased a battery bank. I plug the camera in the camera bank when stopped. I received a reply from Aukey support on motion detection and it seems to work, it picks up every single movement too sensitive. I will try to reduce the sensitivity.

I found out that parking mode or motion detection is not a real motion detection when you cam detect motion and start recording but record all the time but only saves video where is motion detected.I need to test how long anker 20000mah powerbank can last in that mode.It is better to hardwire but i have no interest in doing that because i will use parkmode very rarely.

I have just bought this cam and for the parking mode I am hoping this will work! Using a RS PRO PB-A5200 5000mAh 5V Power Bank Portable Charger (price £15) which supports being charged and charging a device at the same time, I plan to plug the bank into car socket, camera into bank and when engine is turned off, it will then be automatically using the power bank, so that all I have to do is manually start motion detection mode on camera. Start car engine and the 12v car socket powers camera and charges battery pack at the same time. I hope this makes sense , I havent set it up yet so dont know if, or how long this will work for. Theoretically should work.

@@cktechcheck Yeah tht would make sense but the problem is I go on trips in rental cars, so it's not ideal to stick those 3M pads in those rental cars. I was looking for a mount pretty much which I can move from car to car if the need be so that I can be more portable with the cam!

Mine is turned on after poewr off the car, how to fix the issue

Have you had any issues with the time and date and not actually recording? My current cam if it isn't used after a day or so completely resets to default and doesn't actually record - which is rather annoying when there's an actually an incident - like today when I was run off the road and my cam didn't get any of it because it's a piece of shit.

I want the dash cam who's rear cam dual or single , what I like should Rotate wherever I want to rotate should be attached to the holder ball kind . The easiest way . All Dash Cam should be like that . Easy to Record if Criminal/s comes to the either front door .....

Try putting cam in front end of dashboard and see what are you getting from that angle, sure you lose something ind with and height but maybe that helps

The best way to cut glare? Use a polarizer.

They do a two camera (front and rear) pack for not much more than the single front cam, but not sure if they sell the rear camera separately.

Scrape off that 3M tape that looks awful and will eventually fail, and get a roll of Gorilla double sided clear mounting tape. It works great and comes off clean. Also, wrap the cord around the mirror mount once in case the tape fails, it won't fall on your console. I find my GPS dangling on hot days, it's a suction cup though.

@@cktechcheck I have EZ Pass, it's white - thing for toll booths. I colored the back black with a fat Sharpie and used the Gorilla mounting tape. Can't see it! Used to be a big white block.

I keep getting cluster size format wrong error, when I plug in my SD card what Sd card did you end up using

Many devices work better if you format them in the device to be used. they will pick the cluster size they want. PCs are more flexible. for these big video files big clusters work better.

I received an Aukey DR02 as a gift but cannot install the new SD card which is the recommended 128gb Class 10 micro memory card. The message on the screen says 'Write speed too slow, replace card?' which doesn't feature at all in the manual. I cannot make contact with Aukey through their website as they claim to cater for the US only at the moment and not the UK. Does anyone have any ideas before I either return the Aukey or the SD memory card?

try reformatting in the dash cam. it might make larger clusters that write faster.

Fun fact: that warranty card is actually a keyhole sticker.

this unit does not wifi. you need to remove the card or use a different cable to connect to the camera. the cord with the unit does not do data transfers, just power.

do you need the gps to see full windshield view ??

Robert McCabe no the gps provides your location/coordinates of any given moment of the recording. You can provide this info to police should an event occur such as an accident or break-in of your vehicle. The camera lens offers the 170 degree field of view.

@@solarkbike8 I'd suggest reaching out to the support team. I don't have the GPS module.

There seem to be darker areas in the bottom left and right areas of the test video that should not be there. If that is a camera issue I will have to pass on this one.

Also the stick pad may come down if it gets really hot on the windshield,how about after market Black stickems

If that's a 4K model as it says on the box you show, then it's a DR02J and not DR02.

Which micro SD card is recommended for this model? thanks

If you put the cable from the corner of the windscreen along the seam on the pillar then down the rubber seal on the door frame you won't need the ugly hooks and the cable will be hidden, much neater job.

I watched this video to see how to format the card...would have been very helpful if you had not just passed over that part...

Have you considered doing ASMR videos?

You didn't mention the app. Not even mention it. It doesn't work. So the entire wifi feature is useless.

@@cktechcheck sure. I have the DR02 with Wi-Fi. The aukey app is bad. I'm comfortable in saying that the Aukey DR02 (and possibly more models) are a fair rip-off of the Rexing V1 dash cams. That, by the way, is the app that works properly with this camera. I spent the extra cheese for a Rexing V1 for my wife's car and the Rexing app work fine for the Aukey cam.
