Best. Mother. Ever. Period. Only a small handful (thank u God) of people have any idea what this woman is going through-not just the disease and its effects both mentally and physically, but the worry that she is confronted with every minute about the future of her child without her in their life.

I went through several months of thinking I might have this disease, loss of strength in my hands, twitching all over, etc. It turned out to be something else. My heart goes out to anyone with this condition and their families.

Watching this makes me realize how unpredictable and heartbreaking this disease is. At the time of this interview, she had ALS for 3.5 years and although she had no use of her legs and noticeable atrophy of the hands, you think to yourself "hey, she looks like a slow progressor. Maybe she's one of the lucky few who will live 10+ years." And then she was gone 2.5 years later, right at the 6 year mark. I know finding a cure will probably never happen, I believe with enough research, we can develop treatments that greatly extend the life of an ALS patient.

Sarah is a remarkable, courageous, and inspirational person:)! Her Daughter Scarlett should feel honored to have a Mom like Sarah who has inner strength motivated by the love for her Daughter. Sarah, her Husband, and her Daughter Scarlett are in my prayers. Sarah is blessed to have such a lovely Family:)!

I had a dream about Sarah and her story last night. This story of Sarah and other has affected me so much. My stepson had ALS and I was researching ALS and came upon this video. Little did I know that I knew her husband, he worked for the same company I did a long time ago. I think about my stepson everyday and I haven't been the same since. I closed up because he didn't want to go through this so he took his life. We hurt and my husband, who is a Marine and was so funny would make him laugh so hard. One story was that he was in his barracks looking down watching Marines carrying heavy boxes if ammo. Close by there was a sergeant writing on a clipboard. He yelled down to the Marines and said "Hey can one of you guys help the sergeant with his clipboard?" The boxes were dropped and everyone was laughing. The sergeant was not but this story made us all laugh. My husband is somewhat of comedian/Marine. My stepson could not stop laughing. It was beautiful to see. I always wish that he could see the laughter that Sarah had and the time she spent with her family. I don't know why I needed to write this but I thought this might be a way to move forward. God Bless Sarah and her family.
