More Splendid Memories...
Love this video.
Great memories
The boy built a town around his train set - just like I did " Back In The Day "!
👍💖
It's never Christmas without second hand smoke.
I feel cozy...😭❤
hard to think 1970 was 50 years ago

Man time sure flew by didn’t it. And the shitty part ? The older you get, the faster it goes, what a deal lol.
I've seen few of the 70s home videos and I don't think I've actually come across one with audio, as in, the audio of what's being recorded rather than a song put on the video (like this one). So were the video camera of the late 60s/ 70s not have a sort of microphone thing (if you know what I mean)?

c.c.l Back then, the audio was recorded separately, &was added to the film after it was developed, i believe. The processes &equipment were usually too expensive for "common folk" to own.

When my family converted the original 8MM to VHS, we added a soundtrack (the VCR we had at the time offered an audio dub capability). Over time, VHS to DVD, and now to the digital medium where adding music is easy. Though our original audio was removed, since it's KZread, so the audio is from their royalty free library.

Kodak did offer a Super 8 film with a soundtrack, but you would need a new camera & projector to use it.

8mm movie film did not have sound. The film was somewhat expensive to buy and develop. Video tape (camcorders) became available after 1980 and changed everything.
