As far as I can find, the difference between the LAU-68 and -131 is...One is for the Air Force and the other is for the Navy, because they are unable to share.

I think there is some thermal coating on the LAU-68 as well, but that's as reliable information as anything on the internet.

Still one of my all time favorite aircraft, and one of the toughest. Second in toughness only to the C-101 CC, of course. Lol....

I find, that to light up an armored target, I need to put around a 1 sec burst on each target, which works out to be 150-200 rds per target. Soft skins much less of course. Still, with all that ammo, you can go through it pretty quickly.

Cap, I wanted to say thank you. I have been looking for a good combat flight simulator for a couple years now. When I got the oculus quest VTOL-VR was my go to but the lack of HOTAS support made precision difficult. Initially dcs was too daunting for me, too complicated. But a few weeks ago I decided I was going to go for it. I bought a warthog HOTAS and purchased fc3 so I could have some planes to fly. And with the help of your tutorials I am now able to fly the a-10a and the f-15 with a modicum of confidence. Granted I still struggle with landing on occasion but seriously Cap you're amazing and you make learning these planes easier!

how’s your dcs journey going now?

If you arm EAC during start up and then use C to bring up cannon only, it uses pac conditions while firing (handles just like a10c). If you use cannon during rocket mode, it will not use pac system. If you turn off EAC during flight, press C and shoot the cannon, the nose will pitch up. EAC should be turned on for auto pilot anyways, just remember to hit C for steady cannon. Love the vids CAP!! Keep up the good work.

Theres times where im flying normally, and i look back and see my wing broken and my engine on fire. I didnt notice until saw it… this plane is a beast

Not sure about DCS, but in the real aircraft, the ripple also works for rockets. One big advantage to the A-10 as other aircraft have to set the choice on switches in the rocket pod.

For the A-10A i like coming in with a 45 degree angle. Due to the higher angle there is less kickback. Or that’s just how it feels. The A-10C has a gun stabilization system built in which makes it way easier.

LAU-68 is littlebit of less weight. There has been some discussion about this on DCS forums, and some folks made some tests (dunno how), and at least what they said, was that there was really no difference, in DCS, in damage, accuracy etc. IRL LAU-68 is littlebit smaller. It is made to lauch also some other rocket types, that I dont remember now, but it is not awaileble in A-10 A (i think..?).

This is loads of fun, but very limiting. Great to get into the world of low level combat. I was all about BVR at 40,000 feet and mach 1.3 in the Viper. This is 200 kts at 3000 feet with a giant gun and the pieces of your target fly high enough to be a danger to your aircraft! Mud action, begin! Can't wait to get the A-10CII. As much fun as the -A is, the -CII must be 10x that.

PRO TIP! If you ARM the EAC, the gun is stabilized and wont jump as much. It acts like the PAC 1st stage in the a10-C.

Check that the airport you are at is set to your coalition which will be blue if you are in a warthog

Loving the videos, I'm curious if anybody has a fix, my cannon always fires, I can be using bombs/rockets/mavericks but when I fire, it fires the cannon not my others... any tips?

you have a gun fire keep bind (for the cannon) and a gun release key bind (for rockets and bombs)

Feel like that damage is a bit off... i know this is 4 years old but have they updated the damage on this plane?

He is shooting at AAVP7s those are Marine Corps vehicles. This has happened IRL. As having been an AAV Crewman in the Marines I find this disheartening. Don't get me wrong, I understand this is a video game that I play too and understand its not real. I just thought it was ironic that AAVs were the targets. Besides his targets, this is a great tutorial.

Great video ...I'm new to DCS & need the help. How do you display the Armament Screen? I cannot get my pointer to work in cock pit mode? It moves my camera view ...LAlt + C stops the camera thing but turns my pointer into a cross that does nothing. I get no button description & cannot activate any cockpit buttons?
