That was excellent I had a 991.2 gt3 and wanted to upgrade As you note same after market price for new gt3 and 991.2 RS I chose the RS Yet I am not half the driver of John, let alone younger pros My shallow ego peacock side of me made me go with the RS simply because- for the times I’m not on the track and going for a country drive, parking in front of that coffee shop it just looks so much better Emotion trumps logic but at least I’ll admit it

How do you like your gt3rs? All my viper friends have been selling their modified vipers for gt3rs' and it makes me curious

@@whitejodeci8926 I’ve driven an ACR Viper OMG fast and furious But it’s kinda like a muscle car. Don’t get me wrong I’d love one in the garage but they are not the easiest thing to drive fast (me being an under skilled poser). The hood is a mile in front of you and it’s difficult to place the nose All 911’s share that instant ease of drivability. I’ve had a 911 turbo (fastest thing I’ve experienced), the gt3 (sublime and great on the road as well as track) and now the RS. Truthfully the RS is stiffer on the road but manageable, but shares the same “easy to drive” design that all 911’s possess. What separated the gt3 and RS for me was the reliability, ease to drive, the sound, and - personal opinion only: the looks Again - I’m a Viper fan but only one car space in the garage lest the wife divorce me. So if I can only own one exotic- it’s a gt3/RS

@keithrichards-io5db I briefly owned a 911.1 turbo s, PHENOMENAL car. I'm wanting to scratch that lambo itch, but after 2 blown motors in this car, I want the reliability of a TTS or gt3rs Does your gt3rs have enough "oomph" for the street?

@@whitejodeci8926 hard to quantify if it would fit your definition of oomph No GT3 is an off the line car- they need to be 7000 rpm + to get them to perform. That’s not always practical on the street but I like driving around in a low gear to hear the sound of that engine so that’s just me. I don’t think you’d find the gt3/RS as fast as your Lamborghini- but I do know from knowledgeable sources that Porsche is the better car for reliability If I was jay leno I’d want a hurrican performante in my garage right next to my gt3rs . Would also like a viper ACR. But I’m not quite in that tax bracket!!

I owned and tracked both extensively all over the country. The 992 GT3 is so easy to drive fast vs the 991.2 RS. It’s not the turn in the everyone talks about, it’s the stability in the corners that is so stunning in the 992, it’s so stable you feel confident carrying more and more speed. However, to lay down quick laps in the 991.2 RS is so fun because you truly earn it, takes much more skill. I have told people repeatedly that almost anyone can be fast in 992 GT3 because the car is so good. But I can’t say that about the 991.2 RS.

Totally agree. Same experience. I like the 991RS better simply coz it’s more fun and twitchy. In fact is may fav Porsche GT car. 992RS is just too mental and the 992 GT3 is just so easy to drive fast. I dunno. All personal tastes. Also I like the look of the 991 series better.

@@ziggyfreud5357 I have been tracking my GT4 RS lately and I have to say it’s without a doubt my favorite now. It’s finally got the power to hang, but it’s just a riot to drive because it has the older suspension bits, less tire, no rear steering, so it’s all about the driver. It’s a very twitchy car, but the fact that it’s more challenging and I feel like I am making it quick (not the computers) makes me enjoy it so much.

We have nothing to say or do but agree with you! Both incredible cars, the 992 is simply a cheat code.

I believe the 992 GT3 is an advancement for improved lap times given the front end and electronic controls. I personally much prefer the RS for the rawness and it feels more a drivers car. Given most use these on the streets and track days, I vote for raw race car feel vs. more numb but yet faster GT3. Again, it is so capable and more driver-dependent.

Couldn't agree with you more!

I was in the market for both of these and ended up with a 992 gt3 for 2 main reasons. 1- manual. 2- no one will give extended warranties on the RS. So 992 gt3 was my choice.

We went through this exact dilemma when the factory warranty expired on our 991.2 GT3RS. It was a sad day but the 992 GT3 is an incredible car.

Double wish bone isn't magic, the Miata has had it since inception and the Toyota land cruiser has it. Moreover, if they are not on the same tires the test is irrelevant e.g. both on Cup2 or Cup2 R. I much prefer the 991.2 GT3 RS particularly on CUP2 R and I'm quicker in the 991.2 GT3 RS than the 992 GT3 (note I have done 5 seasons of Carrera Cup on 2 continents). The 992 GT3 is easier to drive fast for those with less experience likewise the 992 GT3 RS, the difference between all three in terms of track times comes down to tires and pressures at temp. Another point the 991.2 GT3 RS responds very well to camber adjustment. Around 2.3 front and 2 rear.
