Спорт

Always fun to debate these two players but today I mixed it up a little bit and decided to compare Jordan's 98 Season vs LeBron's 20 Season. Hope you enjoy.

Not to mention the 90s were pinnacle with respects to 7 centers who dominated. Also defensively there was hand checking, no defensive (3 seconds), trash talking was allowed, and there was no ticky tack fouls. Today you can just walk to the basket. Lebron wasted about a decade total of his athletic prime in one of the most unpromising franchises ever (Cavaliers) to win them ONE champion. If he really wanted to take the easy route he would’ve joined the Spurs, or Warriors in their prime and would’ve been decked out in 7+ rings. Instead he held his own against the warriors in back to back to back etc finals. Lebron for me, Jordan stans need to unfog their nostalgia goggles.

Today the bigs don't defend as much, they don't live in the key, strong 4's are thing of the past, and today's game there's 20% more shots therefore 20% more assists and rebounds.

@@mikehammer1777 you shouldn't say it was over because everyone can make a mistake, everyone can play bad, Michael Jordan wasn't perfect, he also had bad games. Lebron lost by Mavericks in 2011 and that's it, that's the past, nobody can change past, but think about this. Lebron lost 6 times in finals and in those 6 times he played 4 times against Golden State which was definitely without question better team than Cavaliers, Jordan played against Portland and Utah Jazz🤣🤣he never played against players like Curry, Durant, Kawhi... I'm not even Lebron fan, I think for now Jordan is GOAT, but if Lebron ein one more title nobody can make argument against him because Golden State would also destroy Chikago if they played in 90s and think about this, in 2015 Lebron played against Golden State without 2 best teammates Kyrie Irvinfand Kevin Love and what if they were 100% healthy in finals series and what if Durant never joined the Worriors?? Maybe Lebron now would have easily 6 titles or 7, so all those facts are facts against Lebron and if with those facts Lebron still win one more championship, if he will be player with most points in NBA history and if he would be top 3 in assists than nobody can tell that Lebron can't be the GOAT. For now Jordan is better player, but it is fact that his competition wasn't so great like now and it doesn't mean that Lebron can't suprass him.

Yeah, he maybe he would average over 40 point in his best season bit only in his best season, his average would be same like before. In this era maybe there isn't so much contact between players, but in this era there are many players who can guard Jordan. Kawhi would destroy him in defense, Igudala also, if he was able to guard Lebron who is higher and stronger than Michael Jordan, he would have realistic chance to guard Jordan, Draymond Green is also great defender, definitely this is amazing NBa era. GOAT debate should look at other future all-time greats that were denied rings under the GOAT competitors reign. For instance from Jordan's first championship in the 90-91 season through the 92-93 season and again upon his official full first season return (17 games do not count when you've been out of the game for 18 months) in 95-96 through 97-98. So in those six seasons of dominance who were the other future all-time greats that were denied rings? Then you take Lebron's first championship in 11-12 (comparing apples to apples, not making the 6-0 case here, though I think that warrants merit, this is based off of their first official chip) through his latest championship in 19-20, during this 9 season reign of LBJ what other future all-time greats have been denied a ring under LBJ's watch? Now, I have many more factors that makes Jordan the nearly untouchable GOAT in my mind (many of which we have all heard 2000 times from analysts, fans, players past and present, and so on), but I think this (though it has been mentioned a few times) should be talked about and looked at more often. I mean seriously, what shows more dominance and GOAT status than a quarter century from now all the greats of your era saying "You know I'd have a ring if it weren't for this one guy that just refused to let anyone else get one" or "Thank God that dude retired or I wouldn't have a ring, he just would not share".

I’m sorry lebron doesn’t choke a 3-1 lead like kawhi Leonard and lebron doesn’t go 6-22 in game 7 like kawhi Leonard. And also it’s funny how you say oh lakers had an easy finals series because they beat the heat. If it was so easy why did you say oh the heat are lowkey underrated or the heat beat the bucks, and other contending teams in the East. Lebron and you guys better watch out like come on bro this is just getting ridiculous like the disrespect and just plain dumb iq you guys be having. Btw I don’t even think lebron is the goat at the moment cause he needs 2 more rings and pass Kareem all time points and then he will get it. Also just saying MJ could never win a series against the 2007 spurs with that Cavs roster nor all of the other finals lebron had no help. The only finals that I keep against lebron are the 2011 and 2014 but those are his baddest finals he has performed and after the terrible 2011 finals lebron dominated since then and he is still doing it. One thing you should’ve done is count all of their total stats, then the teams total stats and find the percentage of stats they both had for their teams. It helps bc of a slow pace back then. Like here.... % of teams PTS/TRB/AST/STL/BLK (regular season/playoffs/finals) for both MJ/Pippen in 98 & LBJ/AD in 2020. Finals MJ 26.7% Pippen 18.8% LBJ 27.1% AD 22.0% Playoffs MJ 25.6% Pippen 21.7% LBJ 25.1% AD 23.2% Regular season MJ 22.5% Pippen 9.8% LBJ 21.2% AD 18.5% Also some advanced stats... PER MJ/Pippen 4th/18th LBJ/AD 9th/4th WS/48 MJ/Pippen 3rd/8th LBJ/AD 14th/3rd MJ had less help than LBJ, had he won with another top 5 player who’s great on both ends of the floor after missing the playoffs the previous season, beating an injured 5th seed in the finals we know damn well LBJ fans would’ve gotten after MJ for that.

@10kdxfault 2017 ECF: 5"8 Isiah Thomas was the best player of the Bocton Celtics. But even he was injured. 2013 ECF: *In 2013, Paul George ( age 22 ) was not yet a superstar, only averaged 17-ppg, on 42%.* Still needed 7 games to beat the Pacers. 2018 ECF: Rookie Jason Tatum ( age 19 ), Al Horford and Jalen Brown ( age 21 ). Still needed 7 games to beat the Celtics. 2012 ECF: Post-injuries Kevin Garnett ( age 36 ), Ray Allen ( age 36 ), Paul Pierce ( age 34 ), Rondo. Still needed 7 games to beat the Celtics. *Even Andre Iguodala was able to win 3 games against the Celtics in the 2012 ECFR.* And he didn"t have a teammate like D Wade. *If Michael Jordan in the East, played against such weak teams, he would play in the Nba Finals every year.* *2007 Cavs faced one team above .500 in East.* Lebron feasted in the weak East.

@10kdxfault The 07 series was winnable, he averaged 22 ppg on 35% shooting, way below his averages. They lost that series by a combined 22 points....two games at home they lost by 3 & 1. Had LBJ played above or his season average that year (27 ppg) they win. Same thing in 2011, they lost two games by a combined 5 points. He went 0-7 in clutch situations, had he shot better there and averaged more than 17 ppg, they win. 2015 he had an opportunity to go up 3-1 at home but failed to do so, he only scored 20 points on 32% shooting. Mozgov had more than him. They win game 4 and I don’t see Cavs losing 3 more times. 2018, although he had only one all star, he still didn’t come up clutch at times. He also got outscored by KD, even the year before in 2017. Which I think it was an even playing field. There he was outscored by KD in the second halves and the 4th. He was apart of those losses, can’t just chalk it down to his teammates or injuries, especially when others don’t get the same treatment. There’s nothing he can do to surpass MJ. Him having AD hurts him even more now, at no point was MJ the second option some times.

Just recently he beat Miami who missed their best scorer in Dragic for the majority, half for Bam. Then in 2018 both Kyrie/Hayward were hurt. GS in 2016 with Curry/Bogut/Iggy.

Also take into account the fatigue factor and having to actually play road games. An old Bulls team, coming off of 5 Finals wins and completing a 2nd three-peat. Michael literally having to carry them offensively, playing in Utah of all places where the altitude factors in. I could argue covid was a blessing in disguise (from just a sports standpoint obviously) for Bron & co given they got time to rest and prepare. Denver almost got em, Miami was competitive so I truly think under normal conditions, one of them would've upset the Lakers. When putting everything in proper context, it's MJ without question.

First of all, NBA back then was totally different. Two are incomparable period. It's like comparing each best player from NBA to Euroleague in current era. They don't compare period. Secondly, people who absurdly bring up and make comparison betweeb LeBron and MJ are 99 percent who have only seen LeBron play and not MJ for they weren't even born then. Experts or people who have actually played basketball on serious level and have had chance to see both in person do not even have such thought come across their minds that LeBron could be compared to MJ. Lol that's a fact! Why is NBA less popular today? Same reason People rather wanna watch UEFA champions league Finals than little league soccer games. I guess people have to be easy on these inexperienced clueless noobs who never had a chance to watch NBA when MJ was playing.

Jordan, easy. He was clearly the best player in the league and had a clutch final sequence to the championship that Lebron's never had. No one now knows just how much Jordan carried those teams. In that final game, Jordan scored 45, including that sequence, and no one but Tony Kukoc had 8 points on the Bulls. Back then, you had less 3's and pace. It's the equivalent of someone today scoring 60 points (half of 120) and crushing it in the clutch to win the title, while the rest of the team could barely score 13. It's hard to imagine. Another thing people don't know- The Bulls could have easily won the chamionship in 1990, but aside from Jordan, who averaged over 30, the rest of the team shot around .150 from the field (look this up). It's the worst a supporting cast has ever shot. If they even shot .300, they would have won that game 7 handily.... and the Blazers were always a bad matchup for the reason of Clyde/Jordan. People also forget that before Paxson's game winner in 1993, Jordan carried that series, and in that 4th quarter scored all of the Bulls' 12 points prior to Paxson's shot, because no one could hit a shot. If Russell Westbrook can AVERAGE 30, 10 and 10 when a player in the 80s-90s who led the league in triple doubles typically had 4 for the entire season (often Magic or Kidd), just imagine what Jordan would do today.

LeBron beat a fifth seed whose second and third best players (Dragic & Adebayo) missed around two-three games due to injury. And LeBron played alongside a top five player in Anthony Davis. Oh and it was in a Mickey Mouse bubble. No fans. No pressure. Pretty much just AAU ball. This isnt even a fucking conversation.
