Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are in our 9TH YEAR of finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!
00:00 Canada's longest train!
01:40 day 1: Prestige Class room tour
10:46 day 2: Rocky Mountains
18:12 day 3: full train tour!
26:42 day 4: first shower ;)
30:58 day 5: last day!
32:08 bloops :)

My best friend and I did this in 2019 when I was moving from Vancouver (my hometown) to Toronto for university. Let me tell you, this trip looks very different if you do it on the cheapest possible ticket… 4 days of being crammed in a car with a dozen other people and 4 nights sleeping in what were essentially reclining airplane seats. Still one of my best travel experiences!

I took the Via rail in 2019 too, but I went from Toronto to Vancouver. Being crammed together was the best part. You're forced to talk to people you normally wouldn't be & it really gives you an opportunity to get to know them.

In all explanations of the sense, We have literally (more than others, myself included) watched their channel grow right in front of our eyes, we (at least me) honestly didn’t think they would grow as big as they are now, and even if their channel grew to where it is now, they are both incredibly humble and down to earth, giving the nice aura about them as being relatable, it’s great that they’re both so down to earth and humble about themselves and everything

I did that trip in 1969 when I was 12, but from the other direction. My dad got a job in Vancouver and we took the train from Toronto to Vancouver. In my brain the 3.5 day trip lasted approximately 76 years, especially since I had to share a small room with my older brother.

I took this train back in 2019 in the Coach (economy) section, and let me tell just say you're missing out on a hell of an experience. Sure, you don't have a private room with any real accommodations... BUT the people you meet & the stories you make with them, when you're forced to spend a long time in such close proximity to complete strangers are truly priceless. By far, that was the best part for me. Its also a bit satisfying to know that 1st class passengers aren't allowed in the front, because neither are economy class passengers allowed any further back past the 1st casual dining car. Economy passengers don't have access to the fine dining area at all, even if they were willing to pay. So you're forced to bring 4 days worth of non-perishable snacks, or just purchase every meal. You also don't have any access to shower facilities & the one bathroom is shared among the entire economy car.

I love you guys, I really love the conversation around mental health and normalizing therapy. However, I REALLY wish you would stop promoting Better Help. It is probably one of the sneakiest, worst services in the world. They’ve been sharing private information for money, they treat their therapists horribly and that leads to worse treatment for patients. Therapy is super important and necessary, Better Help is a parasite of a company and I cannot believe that after all they’ve done they’re still getting KZreadrs agreeing to promote them. Please please consider cutting ties with them. I have so much respect for you guys and I know others do too and I hate to think that people are willingly giving this company money because of that respect for you. Thank you for the consideration.

Amtrak from Chicago to the west usually has an observation car. The East Coast trains have meals like airplanes (heat and eat) where the trains from Chicago to the west have a kitchen and amazing food. The NY line that goes north and south have to be single level because of bridges and tunnels.

My mom grew up in Blue River so it was such a surreal experience to hear it mentioned in your video. This trip is a dream of mine. Looks gorgeous! Also! For those interested in the history of Canada....building a transcontinental railroad was a core component of how Canada became a nation. So this particular route is important on a historical basis as well as just being phenomenally gorgeous.

Across county generally means from one large city on the coast to the next large county on the other side. Just like how across America is New York to Seattle even though there are several states East of New York. This applies to any county, not just northern America. Like how "across Italy" is Rome to Venice even though there are many towns North of Venice and South of Rome.

I’ve subscribed to you guys for years and watched you religiously, which is why it’s so disappointing to see that you are selling your morals by continuing to accept sponsors from better help. There is no way you are oblivious to the exposure of the corruption of this company that has continued now for at least 5 years. They were legally proven and vindicated for selling users private information shared during therapy to advertisers for money, not to mention the neglect in hiring therapists, leading to very damaging behaviour from people dealing with those even on emergency hotlines. They are risking peoples lives and benefitting from their pain. Please stop accepting their bribes, I really don’t want to have to stop supporting you guys. At a minimum please really look into it yourselves first.
