Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Sparkling deep turquoise resin waves on a 27 cm x 60 cm grazing board with gold look stands.
I used 6R jade calligraphy ink from Dr Ph Martin's, dark turquoise and titanium white pigment pastes, and DiamondCote resin from Just Resin.

    Couldn’t help but laugh! I watched this right after sanding my piece for a redo because I just couldn’t leave my resin wave alone! Glad to know I’m not alone out there. And your board turned out beautiful!

    @@Procrastipainter Hi, loving your videos, new to your channel. I just wanted to ask, do you put a Food Safe top coat over your resin part when using it for chopping boards etc?

  • @Procrastipainter

    @Procrastipainter

    Hi Deb, welcome 🥰 Yes the DiamondCote resin is considered food safe for incidental contact as long as there's no pigment added. So I put a clear coat over the resin on serving boards

    You’re definitely one of my favourite resin wave creators! I’ve really been struggling with mine recently, really struggling with getting nice cells. Could I ask, how powerful and how much heat do you have on your blow gun? And is it better to have less resin on your piece before blowing out your white or more? Your work is amazing 😊

  • @Procrastipainter

    @Procrastipainter

    Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching 🥰💙 my heat gun is 220V 2000W 60-650 C. I usually use it at half heat, and use either high or low flow. As for how much resin, I wait for it to settle. That way when you do the white it doesn't move so much and your cells stay put. I hope this helps. Best of luck!

    Ok so I'm just starting making epoxy projects. I've watched a lot of your videos and I hate you for your consistent lacing in your sea foam lol. I'm struggling so bad w this. Would you mind telling me what white you use and your mixing ratio with it? Any advise and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and best regards... Shawn. Btw....I don't hate you lol...I love your work

  • @Procrastipainter

    Hi Shawn, thanks for watching! As for tips, there's a bunch of tips scattered through my videos and lots of specific help if you check the comments. All pigments and resin I use are in the description box of each video, I don't measure how much I use so can't give you a ratio. Generally I just-cover the bottom of a plastic cup and use as much white as you see in the video. Unfortunately I can't give you much help without knowing what your specific problem is, but generally waiting for your resin to get the consistency of thick honey will help you KEEP cells. Check out video #21 for a quick how-to (it's an old video now but should help). Best of luck!

    Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my query 🤗 My white jr resin wisps over the blue without making cells or very little. I even tried a light spray of alcohol ink. Perhaps the jr titanium white is too thick?

  • @Procrastipainter

    @Procrastipainter

    Жыл бұрын

    🤔 if it's wispy for me, that usually means I used too much heat or too many passes. Are you too high on the heat gun or too much torching? Too much heat makes the white swirl and mix in before it gets a chance to cell. What heat do you have your heart gun on? Another thing might be that you need to not dig down with the heat gun. Think of it like you're trying to blow a thin curtain of white over the top, so have your heat gun as flat to your surface as possible. Hopefully some of that helps!

    MASTER. I never stop watching each of his posts over and over. I experience different things each time. I never unfollowed, I just stopped commenting. master erica just created unique wave effects with the newly launched oceancoat product of resin. I couldn't believe my eyes, the effects were incredible. I could not have imagined that this new product would create such an effect. If it's real and these effects are caused by this new resin, I think the ocean effect has been revolutionized in effects. I wonder if you have had a chance to use it. what kind of product

    I am a total newbie and am making a charcuterie board. I have the back all taped,and sanded the top. I think I’ll only be using the handle end and about 1/3 of the way up he board. After I am finished and the piece is totally cured, how do I finish the rest of the board since I sanded to complete surface? A matte polyurethane?

  • @Procrastipainter

    Ok so I typically will seal the section I'm planning to put resin on with either paint and prime (if you want it white) or an acrylic varnish (to see the timber). When finished, I rub some chopping board oil everywhere there isn't resin. I hope that helps!

    Walrus oil is the best for this. Just make sure you pop the grain by spraying it with water then let air completely dry. Sand with 220 grit smooth again. Then apply the walrus oil.

    You can, yes. Although the colour may fade quite quickly depending on what you use. Look up the colour fastness of your pigment to know how easily it will fade/ change colour
