Unusual ‘Tape Technique’ painting. Relaxing process with finished result.
My ‘Tape Technique’ is a funny little technique which I’ve found is abit like Marmite… people either love it or hate it! 😆🙈
But I read this quote once by Alexander Calder once and it’s always stuck with me:
“Above all, Art should be fun”
… and that’s exactly what this style is 🥰🎨
#artprocess #acrylicpainting #abstractart
To give you a little background, I started painting originally for stress relief and therapy when I suddenly started having seizures 3 months before I was due to graduate from a Physiotherapy degree! My whole life turned upside down as you can imagine. But I believe ‘Everything happens for a reason’ and I couldn’t imagine my life without my art now.
In 2018 I was discovered by a Publisher, Artko Ltd, who supply framed prints of my work to shops throughout the UK. My bestselling pieces are my ‘Love Trees’.
My work is currently in various shops including John Lewis and Dunelm and links to these can be found below…

I ship my artwork Worldwide and so far have shipped my work to the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Germany, Malta, Amsterdam, Spain, Italy and Ireland.

Wow! So glad you popped up here. I felt hypnotized watching you paint. So many layers, colors, and shapes, and in the end such beauty. I know art can lead you out of a dark and dangerous place to one where you're no longer thinking, just doing. I began drawing, then painting when I was so depressed I was incapable of speaking. I'd never thought of myself as a visual artist--I'm a writer--but I was amazed by the crossover. I mix poetry into my drawings. I love watching you.❤❤❤

Oh you’re gonna think I’m a real big pain. So what is the ratio of pouring medium water in paint if it’s a trade secret all understand if you don’t want to share your recipe. I started painting about five years ago and I’m not an artist at all but I enjoy painting. When I’m painting Timeflies, and before you know it been painting for hours. I stopped painting about a year ago but when I saw your creations I was inspired. I’m in awe of the way you designed your “artist she shed”. Your studio is charming, cozy, creatively efficient and well thought out.
@LittleDotArt

Ohh I love that! My ‘Studio She Shed’ 🤣🥰🎨 Thank you I put a lot of thought into it as it has so many uses I need it to work for… my ‘display/viewing’ area when clients come for a viewing, my packaging area, drying area, and of course my painting area. No it’s not a trade secret but I really don’t know a particular ratio I’m afraid 🙈 I literally work by eye. Not too runny and not too thick. Sometimes I start ‘sprinkling’ the paint and it’s too thick so I add more water or mediums and vice versa… too runny and I add more paint again. It’s more about what ‘feels’ right for me. Hope that helps 😊🎨

@@LittleDotArt , I get it. Your verbiage to explain how you dilute. The paint is exactly wording I can understand. I’m a big believer in going with your intuitive, gut instinct. Something no one ever talks about is how you clean out your bottles that you used to mix paint in. I want to be green and not wash it down my sink I’m thinking of using a little corner in my yard to rinse my brushes and bottles out, make a mosaic of paint in the dirt lol. What is your method to wash out your used paint bottles so you can reuse them

This was so fun and fascinating to watch...thanks so much for bringing us along on an incredible process. I learned so much! Two questions - who is that beautiful beastie you were talking to and laughing with? I will have to go and see if I can find a full body view of this marvelous study buddy. And, more of an observation than question, I suppose. I absolutely love the finished product, and loved it unframed. The white frame added at the end, for me, seemed to create an artificial boundary to what seemed a snapshot of a grand forest. Just a thought. Thank you! 🙏

Thank you glad you enjoyed it and that’s the only thing with frames, sometimes it does kinda add a barrier yet it also adds a little extra too I feel. I left it up to the client to chose and they chose the white frame. 🥰🤍

Lovely piece. Someone in comments asked ratios and mentioned pouring medium, do you have that in your mix or is it just paint and water thanks
@LittleDotArt
Ай бұрын
I always have some ‘medium’ in my paints whether it’s pouring medium or glaze etc adding water alone makes the paint too weak and brittle 🎨😬
C’est superbe !! ❤ 🤩🤩 Quelles sont vos couleurs acryliques utilisées ? ( Quels rouges et roses par ex) .....
@LittleDotArt
Ай бұрын
Magenta is my favourite pink but I do mix my own colours often. I don’t use red much (even though there’s a funny red/coral colour at the beginning of the video which I was painting over)
How do you water down the paint so that you can make the drips on the canvas?
@LittleDotArt
Ай бұрын
There’s various products you can use, I mainly use water and pouring medium but it really depends on the effect I’m after as to what I add if that makes sense 😊🎨
