I often pick up the mold earth cantrip in order to create cover on the battle field.
Great mention of cover tactics, saved my bacon multiple times as an artificer gun boi. An addition to that would be, ask your DM if you can use simple cantrips like Mold Earth, Create Bonfire, Dancing Lights, Light, or Shape Water and create your own cover.
I've discovered your channel yesterday and I really like your bite size video like this one! I'll add, use the environment to create difficult terrain and/or cover. Flip a table, throw a bookshelf on the ground, create a rock slide, make the floor wet and slippery, use doors as shields, cut loose the hanging chandelier, light a fire, light a smokestick, spill the oil from a lantern, use flour clouds, etc etc. And, use your words. Taunt an enemy, intimidate to submission, make them flee, parley, bribe them, make alliances, get clues, secrets and lore. And lastly, use the dodge and help action.

Nice additions!
Fantastic list. I feel like dynamic movement is one of the things that can take a fight from boring "I roll to hit" to an epic fight.
Good stuff
Breaking grapple by push action sounds such a stupid rule that I needed to check it and incredibly the the forums seem to agree...😮
Nice video.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Ha! I was just making a druid and thought, I should really pick up a bag/pouch full of mistletoe sprigs :D

Just don’t get the bag stolen 😉
Grappling is more than just grabbing them it is putting them in a hold like in mix martial arts is the reason that I thought dnd 5e didn't allow grappling as a reaction/attack of opportunity.

Fair, and that makes sense but as written you can grapple with one hand
By tripping do you mean shove prone?

nice i cant wait to grapple my way onto a dragons back and try to ride it into the sunset..yeehaaa
Ok. Omg. Lol a Cover build. That's slow as Christmas. With that said. Tortle for your race. She'll Def. +4AC Artillerist Artificer 15 lvl Half cover within 10ft of turret (force batista) 2 turrets close to same spot for full cover? A familiar so you can see threw its eyes for directions and targets Swarmkeeper Ranger 3. Summon turtles to pick up yourself and move you slowly around d the battlefield. Your a tank.

This is so unbelievably creative. I love it 😂

@@DnD_Daily could "turbo charge" the build with Tenzers floating disk. Cast the disk threw your familiar so it follows them and not you. Lay down on the disk and shell up. And summon turrets. Just have the familiar move around the field taking dodge actions. You on for the ride. Picking targets and your turrets taking them out. Yep another one for the black book of doom to horrify pcs and dms

@@dracosdiabolis1769 You think it's viable? Does sound like a funny idea, but non STR/CON saving throws will be your death, especially Dex as you're a sitting duck, getting disadvantage with a +2 to your Dex saving throws. Although that's on average a -1. Much better to take the Dodge action and use the bonus action to have them do their thing. Mathematically a similar AC but no disadvantage on Dex saves. So unless you're expecting str or con saves it's just not better ig. If you're not in the shell you can also use Flash of Genius or spells. Anyway, you were probably not even serious

@@zimzimph so what if I was. You do make good points. Yep your a sitting duck riding on your turtles or whatever. And can't cast spells etc etc But when has a modern military tank been as nimble as a mongoose?? What the build loves in speed makes up for it in range. 250 ft range. And with double turrets with both giving you half cover. 2 halves make a whole. So your totaled covered. Why do you need dex rolls. And your ac is so high that most things will miss you anyway. It has its faults. Mo add t builds do. Pros and Cons. But now I feel like you have challenged me to make this a viable build. 🤣 It was just a t something funny and flavorful. But now. .... WHAY SAY YOU SAGE!?!

@@zimzimph Taking Resilience feat (Dex) will help with that, and as you're likely Prone while you're in "tank" mode, you are only really victim to melee thugs rushing you, as being Prone gives ranged attacks against you Disadvantage.
I don’t think you can just grab a Wizard’s Arcane Focus. A DM might allow you to use the optional Disarm rule, but it has nothing to do with grappling.

You’re correct. Though to be fair a barbarian saying “I’d like to take this frail old man’s staff” makes sense in the real world and thus should be possible in dnd. No reason it shouldn’t but I’m sure there’s a DM out there who disagrees with me.

@@DnD_Daily As we've all seen, 5E is lacking in certain areas, and Grappling is definitely one of them. With RAW currently, Alan is correct in that you can't grapple to disarm.
