Dhampir bite also counts as a simple melee weapon, so you can smite with it. So a Vengeance paladin is pretty amazing as a dhampir, you get hunter's mark and smite. Also, swords bard can use their fangs as an arcane focus, so mix a vengeance paladin with a swords bard and you have gold. Bard paladin would be so much fun - probably start with paladin 1 for armor proficiency, then bard to get extra attack at 6th level bard, you'll have to live without smites and hunter's mark for a bit but once you get it, you are tanky gold (defensive blade flourish + healing + con focused).

Brilliant! Love this. Using your teeth as an arcane focus is very clever!

Add hexblade to really make your character and SAD. 😂 hexblades curse adds to piercing damage, makes it cha based, crits on a 19 and you don't need the pact boon. 😅😇🎃media.tenor.com/PI6phOl_PkEAAAAM/go-to.gif

I'm playing as a Dhampir Assassin Rouge in a Horror-Themed D&D5E campaign and her ability scores via my ability score rolls are 18 Dex, 16 Wis, 15 Con, 15 Cha, 13 Int, and 13 Str. So she has a +2 to Constitution which means the Dhampir Bite is a viable attack for her since she's starting out with a decent Constitution.

Monks can benefit from vampiric bite using optional class feature dedicated weapon from Tasha's cauldron of everything Best part is that this optional does NOT replace unarmored movement Dedicated Weapon (Optional) Also at 2nd level, you train yourself to use a variety of weapons as monk weapons, not just simple melee weapons and shortswords. Whenever you finish a short or long rest, you can touch one weapon, focus your ki on it, and then count that weapon as a monk weapon until you use this feature again. The chosen weapon must meet these criteria: The weapon must be a simple or martial weapon. You must be proficient with it. It must lack the heavy and special properties. The first sentence of Vampiric Bite reads Your fanged bite is a natural weapon, which counts as a simple melee weapon with which you are proficient. So with dedicated weapon you can touch your tooth after a long rest and turn your fangs into monk weapons because it is a simple weapon that you have a proficiency with and it's doesn't have the heavy or special traits TL:DR monks can use a dedicated weapon a class feature at level 2 to change vampiric bite to a monk weapon so at level 20 vampiric bite's 1d4 becomes a 1d10.

@@DnD_Daily the best monk subclasses for this combo are Astral self for that wisdom based grapple Long death for gaining temporary hit points on top of the healing if you kill with the bite Shadow for allowing sneak attack variation with the assassin rouge Forgot about this class feature from Tasha's Ki-Fueled Attack (Optional) Also at 3rd level, if you spend 1 ki point or more as part of your action on your turn, you can make one attack with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon as a bonus action before the end of the turn. You can't use fury of blows with a monk weapon but you use this class feature and at level 5 you gain extra attack So at level 5 you can vampiric bite 3 times for a total damage of (if all attacks hit using 2 as Con mod) 3d6+(2 x 3)+(3x3) that's an average damage of 24 The average for 1d6 is 3.5 so 3 and if all 3 hit it's 9 + 6 + 9 9 + 15 24 avg if the con is at two Plus And the best part Ki-Fueled Attack does NOT replace Deflect Missiles

@@themegagamer6086 It wont replace deflect missiles but you need to spend a ki point to activate it specially as part of your action. so you'll spend 1 ki point on furry of blows and then as a bonus action make an attack with your monk weapon instead of making the 2 unarmed strikes you wouldve gotten from furry of blows. If it started "if you spent one ki point on your turn" then we could spend a ki point on something like Hands of harm and get an unarmed attack and a bite.

As a Dhampir you can use Hunters Mark, Piercer Feat, and Oil of Sharpness(Brushing your teeth with a magic item lol) to max out your piercing damage. Technically even more so if you can wildshape into a bear. Another fun fact about their Fangs, you can attune a Ruby of the War Mage to their Fangs since they are a simple weapon. This allows you to have a hands free spellcasting focus so that you can have no physical limitations when it comes to adventuring. So with all of this, if you play as a Dhampir Bladesinger wizard with magic initiate feat to get hunters mark. You can create a very deadly combination. Blade song doesn't require you to be wielding a weapon to activate it. If you get to level 14 with blade singer, you get the feature song of victory. Song of victory allows you to add your intelligence modifier to your melee weapon attacks while your blade song is active. Since it doesn't stat that it has to be a certain damage type, it means you can get up to a additional +5 to your piercing damage hence getting more healing.

Battle Smith Artificer lets you use int for magical weapon attacks (so probably in the same RAI boat as monk weapons mentioned in the video). If the DM allowed it, you could get that plus everything else you said lol.

wait, afaik magic initiate does not gives the option for hunters mark, since this is a ranger spell, you would need to pick the fey touched feat in order to pick the hunters mark

Ah so a Dhamphir turning its bite into a "dedicated weapon" with monk os more rai than raw. To be honest, when it comes to rulebooks and whatnot. I pull a Captain Hector Barbossa. "There more like guidelines." Bend the rules for flavor or for the narrative of the story. Not break them. As for added flavor for what you can do with blood. Your 5th point. Let me introduce you to Whote Wolf and the World of Darkness. And a few of the vampire disciplines.

My 3 favorite Dhampir straight builds are Samurai fighter (when your lvl 18 feature activates and get to make a few last attacks, you make those attacks at advantage and can heal from them👌), Zealot barbarian (getting knocked out and biting yourself back to health) and Ancestral Guardian barbarian. Although bladesinger/monk either kensei or mercy sounds fun too. (Booming blade cantrip with your bite, bite and heal and flurry of self heal) So a bunch of things get replaced when you become a Dhampir, how does this work with racial feats that you take before you get turned?

Everyone overlooks the charger feat. it adds +5 to your weapon damage which in this case is piercing. Another thing your missing is vampiric bite is limited by PROF and you have to be at half health to use it. so Healing for 100 here seems pretty unlikely. Im a ansestral guardian barbarian with charger feat. I run from enemy to enemy giving each (one at a time) disadvantage on anyone but me and when i get down to half i bite instead of attacking with my weapon. My DM is ruling that I heal for the 1d4+CON+PROF+CHARGER BONUS so twice a day i can heal for 12-16 which is neat.

👍 Small correction though, you don’t have to be half health to use vampiric bite. You just get advantage if you’re lower than half.

@@DnD_Daily How would you scale the "piercing damage" would you include the CON and PROF damage in there? I know Hex for example is its own damage but i was surprised to see CON bonuses added in there. This really changes things. my idea was to charge in and hit the first target reckless and stay there for one round. when my artificer came into combat with me id hold my turn(if necessary) so hes still at disadvantage on his turn then charge the next enemy. Vampiric biting to heal up from the first combat. I thought id have to wait until half health to do this but im glad i dont. i really dig the idea of a charging dhampir raging from enemy to enemy into the backline keeping his health pool up and taunting his enemies. Minotaur can also push with their bonus action. Really gives it a "come here and fight me before you're dead" vibe

I feel like the CON scaling on the bite was simply an oversight. Someone said ou you know what would be cool? if the bite scaled off Constitution because blood ouu so cool. And no one stopped him and said yea...no that excludes almost every mechanic in the game lets not do that thank you.

Off the top of my head I think the prompt was “vampire barbarian, fantasy style, character art” or something along those lines.

I had a Dhampir paladin that had a gimmick that he drink holy wine as a way to hold off his blood lust and minor health potions... However to balance this he was always tipsy and never had almost never had a full short rest as he was blessings the wine he bought
