wow I thought that Garth's bad lip sync WAS the joke as Garth didn't know the words...
Mike Meyers didn't think the head banging would catch on or be funny... yeah ok lol every time bohemian plays people headbang :)

I can’t figure out why he thought people wouldn’t do that when people used to do that all the time. That’s where the rearm ‘head banging’ came from.
@helenl3193
4 жыл бұрын
TBF, if you do a lot of it without any prior attempts/stretches, etc. you can strain your neck muscles. If he'd never really done it himself (outside of short bursts as the character on SNL) then having to do that scene multiple times in one day could well cause pain and stiffness. I've had problems with my neck after going to particularly energetic gigs, even as a teen.
@helenl3193
4 жыл бұрын
And I think they said he got to a point where he said they shouldn't continue the scene because it wasn't funny, as in his neck hurt and he didn't think it was worth the pain/extra work in that moment. I doubt he actually thought people didn't, and wouldn't, headbang

One of my all time favorite 90's movies. Used to watch it on VHS. My kids "discovered" it about a year ago and now it's one of their favorites too. They said: "Hey Dad that Wayne guy sounds just like Shrek". Lol
I remember reading a while ago that the robot Garth was building was meant to kill Benjamin. That's why it starts acting up as soon as Benjamin goes next to it. Fact 10.

If the "some young guy" line was improvised, that means both Tia and Dana's reactions were genuine. That makes the scene infinitely funnier.

My buddy was the prop masters assistant - I remember how much FUN they had coming up with the props for this, never heard any complaints. Spent a few days on set - the entire cast and crew was ridiculous cool with the exception of Dana Carvey who would go straight to his trailer and never hang out. I still have the first working script for this movie - Im gonna have to check that "Cream of some young guy" isnt in there (thought it was).

CineFix This is one of my absolute favorite movies. Question: Is it bad that most of my favorite movies came out before I was even born? Like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Fight Club, Trainspotting, Pulp Fiction, Die Hard, The Green Mile, Clerks, The Mask, The Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, Pitch Black, and Wayne's World are some of my all time favorite movies, yet I was born in 2001, years before most of them came out. Is that bad? Does it make me look like I like older movies more than a lot of new ones?
@SmashingJack420
7 жыл бұрын
+FilmFanaticX Its not bad. Just because those movies were before your time doesn't mean you can't enjoy them. You also should remember that what you've listed is essentially some of the best films of the 90s, and every decade has its share of both good and crappy movies, society just tends to remember the good stuff as time passes by. The same logic can be applied to today's movies.
@vansc0re773

FilmFanaticX No, its bad that you kids never shut up about it.
@RatelHBadger

FilmFanaticX You have the same attitude as many of my friends, going through highschool in the early 2000's we fell in love with 80's Sci Fi. Alien, Terminator, Tron, Dune, Escape from New York, Running Man, Bladerunner etc, all films made before we were born. The classics always remain in memory because they are classics for whatever reason. Dosent mean you can't enjoy even older movies from the 60's or 50's. One of my favourite shows I found randomly one summer was Mystery Science Theatre 3000, now I have a love affair with 50's B-movies. In short dude, like what you like and encourage others your age to see older gems they may not be aware of or had discounted for being "old".

As an old metal head with whiplash, trust me when i say that your headbanging technique is very important ;)
It's definitely NOT the case that Mike Myers disliked the scene. It was a producer on the film that disagreed with it and said that it should have been a Guns & Roses song instead. Mike fought like crazy for both the song and the scene because he wanted to make it an experience that viewers would find relatable.
@colerieger7300
11 ай бұрын
You have that story exactly opposite. He wanted the Guns song, he lost on that, then it went as exactly as described in the video.

@robertweich9765

Where can I get one!
*"Thanks... Heh, I like to play!"* That was my favorite phrase when I was small. (Still is)
And another thing about that Bohemian Rhapsody scene, Mike Myers wanted Queen's approval to use the song so he gave a VHS tape of the scene to Queen guitarist Brian May who then sent it to front-man Freddie Mercury and Freddie seemed to love the Wayne's World scene. Brian said "He loved it. He just laughed and laughed. He was very weak but he just smiled and laughed and said 'Yeah, how wonderful is that?'" Freddie was very aware that Wayne's World could boost Queen back into the US and make Bohemian Rhapsody popular again in the US after the I Want To Break Free music video back in 1984.

Loves Wayne's World, my most favorite movie, only knew about 2 or 3 of them - I always headbang when I listen to that part of the Bohemian Rhapsody, almost crashed 4 times because of it
this is probably one of my all time favorite movies. it is one of those that will never get old no matter how many times I watch it.
Does anybody know the full speech Garth makes when he argue's with Wayne: "Well you know what you can do with your show. You can take a .... .... .... .... until the handle breaks off and you have to find a Doctor to pull it out again".
Loved Wayne’s world, one of my generation’s great classics. Became a huge Queen fan because of it. One thing many probably don’t know about this film is that in the opening sequence, when they’re playing bohemian rhapsody, initially they were going to go with a Guns N’ Roses song who at the time were one of the biggest bands on the planet and they were modern. Mike said that he wanted to go with Queen. When the producers told him no, he said he wasn’t going to do the movie. When they realized he wasn’t bluffing, they put Queen and the rest is headbanging history.
This movie was one of my first intros into Alice Cooper. Hell yeah part 2

This channel is awesome and you should feel good about being so awesomely awesome.
You're not telling the whole story about the Bohemian Rhapsody scene. The reason Myers didn't think it was funny and didn't like the head banging is because they had to reshoot this scene more than numerous times because people kept fucking up their parts so by the time they finally got the scene wrapped up no one cared for it anymore because they had already done it so many times.
