Hello there.. I have been watching you for awhile and now my 12 year old son has started to watch you and is asking for me to take him on my bike when the summer comes all I can say is THANKYOU!! Its something I have wanted since I started to ride..and he is even talking about bikes saying he wants to get a dirt bike to try and ride!!! Anyways keep the great videos coming!!

Great video. Great advice even for an old guy who stopped riding when kids were little only to start again when my son started riding motorcycles. Just like your suggestion I found a used FZ6 that could pay cash for and after riding it for a couple of years I decided I wanted a new bike with traction control and ABS. I then bought a new left over 2017 V-Strom 650. It is a great fit for the type of riding I want to do, plus at the discounted price I was still able to pay cash for it. Stay safe and have a happy New Year.

I've been riding since I was 17 when I fixed up an 83 VT750C Honda Shadow. Some years later I got a Honda Sabre 1100C, a KLR650, rode a Harley Dyna for a while, then got a Harley Nightster (My favorite Harley I've ever ridden), then got a Suzuki Drz400S, and now have a Kawasaki Vulcan S (Most fun I've ever had on a cruiser). Point is, I've been riding for years and yet I still am so entertained by your videos, I still watch your beginner videos haha. Keep up the quality content brother.

I was introduced to the motorcycle culture by a fellow professional photographer with whom I share a studio. He had started at 25 and I was 45. The first thing he told me was "Do the safety course." He had been the President of a Harley Club" but was riding Triumph sports bikes and a 500cc Ninja for track. I thought I could trust him. He never told me anything that could get e killed.

#10: find the nearest VFW or biker bar and ask the polite gentlemen inside if you could possibly join their social club. They will always be welcoming and helpful to new riders, especially if you’re riding either a Sportster or a Japanese brand. Inviting them to brunch will seal your friendship in stone.

As well as the excellent information in this video there are a few other things to consider when buying your first bike... Can you afford to buy it? Can you afford to run it? Bikes need maintenance more often than cars. Very similar bikes can have wildly different running costs. How much for a pair of tyres? How much is a chain and sprocket set? How much for a service? If this will be your first bike at some point YOU WILL DROP IT. It is worth asking at the dealership how much some commonly damaged parts will cost to replace - Indicators Foot pegs Clutch and brake levers Handlebars Gear shift and rear brake pedal Screen (if fitted) Fairing (if fitted) - N.B. fairings can be eye-wateringly expensive to replace! If the guy in the dealership can't (or won't) give you this information go find another dealership. There are plenty out there.

Hi Yam. love the content. Would you be able to do a video on dual sport and adventure style for people wanting a shorter seat height, and larger motor? (5' 7" with 30" inseam for example) seems like the only ones that have shorter seat heights also only have 250 to 300 cc. thanks :)

Concerning the Motorcycle safety courses, a video on that one would be terrifyingly great. As a European, i have no idea what or how they teach you to ride across the Atlantic

The helmets reminded me of what I saw last summer when I saw someone riding past my school on his motorcycle. Sandals, shorts, tank top and a BICYCLE helmet.....prepare of the slide not the ride.
