9 Second Bail Out! Teched In and Ready for Bonneville Speed Week 2023 - Video 2
We made it! The weather hasn't 100% been in our favor, but it could for sure be a lot worse. Speed Week is delayed by a few days - but as of now it is still on. We teched in on Saturday. For this racing you have to demonstrate that you can properly "bail out" of the car in the event that something happened and this is something I have been nervous about since I first heard of it years ago. But I got it done! Now, we sit and wait on the salt to dry up.

I'm very glad that they don't just let a person get in a car and go as fast as they can. Safety for the driver is most important!
I want to see Bonnieville someday
Bonneville tech inspection is most definitely an experience that makes other tech inspections seem a lot less serious. Thanks for sharing and bringing back memories from when I was crew at Speed Week as a teenager over 20 years ago.
The best part of this video was the quick response of the inspector watching your bail out. "I'll sign that off." 😂

@@NBSV1 When I was crew, our driver was in his 60's, about 6'4", and 250-300 lbs. His bailout from a near lay down position in the streamliner was much less graceful than Alex's.
Been there a few times! Just to spectate, of course. It's an experience you will never forget!
My family is praying for you and yours. Safe Travels !!
Prayers out for a safe and successful speed week Alex, Dennis, and Team !
Bitter sweet for me watching you in your infancy of land speed. I wont get into the bitter, but the sweet is the spark I saw in your eye. Your going to do awesome!!!
You guys don't know how lucky you are, in Australia the salt flats are a 2+ hour drive on rough dirt, into the middle of nowhere. If it rains hard you can be stuck there for days/ weeks. It's a commitment. Having said that it's also an awesome adventure, ask Frieburger he's done it.
Alex, hope you are the fastest black-haired lady on the flats this week. Good luck and safe racing.
i'd be nervous too You're amazing the time in drag racing sure helped CONGRATULATIONS
Great video because racers don’t typically record the rookie bailout test and procedure. As I look forward to doing one myself in the future I found this very educational. And yes it’s an intimidating thought for all of us but watching it take place helped with that as well. Good luck this week.
Congratulations on making it to speed weeks Alex! ❤
Our lil Lady is fixin to go real frickin fast…… always knew you were destined for faster and faster speeds…….God Speed Alex Taylor….. go fast and straight…… see you in the record books…….stay safe go fast and be pretty……👍🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁

Great Alex I knew you would be awesome at anything race car you are awesome
I can only imagine the anxiety while preparing for a worse case scenario like that. Your life is literally in your own hands.
What a cool experience. I can't wait to see some runs
I got nothing but respect for your Driving ability and your quality 💯 and your pretty doing it Alex Taylor
when i lived in Ogden Utah in 92 they had a bunch of salt flat racers at SLC autoroma and I talked with them they was all nice just like all the racers at the dragstrip we hung out and raced in Magna Utah which is gone now. But I look at land speed as just long distance drag racers
Well that was quite intimidating! But like the majority of safety procedures there are sound reasons behind them. You nailed it though so that's great. So once the salt has dried all you have to do is drive that car really really really fast - that's the fun part! 😊
It's a pretty daunting thing. I had to go through the same thing with a 200mph roadster a few years back and I have to say it's one of the most full on things I've ever done. Having Keith and Tonya there is awesome, they're two of the nicest people on the planet and having them with you will help break down the "salt racing barriers".

Sure hope SPEED Week goes off no rain fast and safe ride for you Alex love y’all
Speed week let the fun begin and late nights start. Thank you for sharing ❤
seems like a great group of guys running the event, cant wait to see more of speed week on your channel. really want to see a long video series of Dennis building a land speed car for future events.
Congratulations on making it to speedweeks!
I'm surprised bail out procedures aren't more common. They're something every driver should practice regardless of what series they're running in. I hope you get to run flat out before you have to leave.

I completely agree, demonstrating bail out procedure ought to be a part of every motorsports discipline, except bikes of course but even then knowledge of what NOT to do when track surfing ought to be talked through. Most have to find out the hard way and that’s not a fun experience.
As a dad, I think Dennis has to be happy that these guys are doing all this for her utmost safety. I would feel real good about leaving my child in these guys hands.
Dennis take care of ur girl and keep her safe. My daughter is 19 love watching u guys.
When Keith Turk is helping you,you know it's gonna be right.!!
I'm jealous Alex. Best of luck. Go get a hat! BTW, it's amazing how well pinlock visor inserts help with fogging.
atta girl, good luck this week we will be watching
Doing good kid, can't wait to see you fly. Stay safe.
Doudle check steering click,,,good !!!!! Merci 4 partage !!
Sending positive vibes you can do this! 😊
I like the fact that they're all older experienced guys that Alex has behind her, a wealth of knowledge minimizing known risks!. If Alex put her mind to it she could become the first female Astronaut to navigate a spacecraft to the moon, she certainly has all the attributes to achieve it!!!
What an interesting adventure ! Thanks for taking us along ; very much appreciated.
Great work Alex. Hope you get on the salt on Tuesday😊
I Alex I’m new to your channel!! This is awesome to see something completely different from all the other channels. Who else is doing salt flats racing!! I haven’t seen anyone try this event. Good luck on this adventure your on!!!
I was @ Bonneville as a spectator. The support vehicles were very impressive! Seeing this video gives me a great respect for everyone and everything involved with the safety of everybody that's at all the events there!
Hei😀 I`m glad to se you try this. And when i see this i`m glad a new young generation drivers like you want to try this, and same time i`m glad you have all the seniors there to guide you and make sure you are safe. Go Fast young Lady🙃🙃 From Norway.
Good luck, go fast, stay safe, God speed
Speed week is usually only a once in a lifetime experience for most of us , pretty awesome watching your success
Outstanding !
You fit PERFECT!
Man that gear looks hot out there!
As soon as I saw Keith Turk there helping out I knew that Alex could not be in better hands. I'm going to enjoy this series. Cheers from Tokyo!
Alex, the guys that seemed to be intimidating are there trying very hard to make sure you survive the "need for speed" that is their common denominator. They want all the competitors to go home with the ten fingers and toes that brung them. If you had fluffed the first try, they would have coached you to see you had it straight and right. I've never driven any of these, but two events were stunning- because of folks like the ones pushing paper and doing the tests. Awesome trail you are on there, Alex!
I heard one of the Allison brothers said. Tighten your belts till it hurts, and then pull em a little tighter! Be careful. Have fun. Stay pretty!😀
very cool and a plan for every situation. Good luck and GOD bless
thanks for taking us along
Good luck 👍 stay safe living the dream ✨️

The little cafe right off the highway used to have the Best fried Serrano peppers.. The Mexican food was good also.. Wendover is cool as you can be in Nevada and Utah at the same time, one foot in Utah and 1 in Nevada.. Good luck younglady Godspeed... (I can see El Mirage from my back yard) I have never been to a Speed Week at either place although I have been there..
I would of been disappointed if you didn't video this now your getting closer to one of your favorite goals good luck and God bless you and protect you

Next stop the 200MPH club lets go!!!!!!
Now lets see just how Fast you can drive Alex. When your gas pedal hits the floor. Push Harder. You got this
Good luck, hope you break some records. 👉
Some people think 200 in a quarter mile is easy. O.k. wish you the best on the salt. It's very different on smooth tires for five miles. Don't give up up its more of a thrill for five miles than a quarter mile.
❤❤❤
I like the idea of "wicked tight" belts.
Don't forget your sunscreen!
Good luck. You made the bail out easy because you have done that routine many times in the 55 during normal runs. Shut it down and get out. You are way ahead of the average first timer.
I really like what they’re doing with their 55 and will watch everything they do with sick week, etc. but I wouldn’t walk across the street to watch one of these Bonneville cars like watching water boil
Try doing a pre trip inspection for DOT.
i didnt see dad taylor !!
OMG the guy didn't know Alex Taylor 😂

Not sure the papers actually said Alex Taylor, could be why he was confused. Alex is as far as I know only an nickname. 🙂
Drag racers running over 150 in the quarter should be practicing a bail out procedure. So it’s second nature when the poop hits the fan.
Great job girl 😢 You are one of the best!!
Speaking of Steves, I think we need Steve Morris to try land speed.
I need to step up my Dad game!
Be careful girl
Steve told me last night that he had a great day. Now I see why.
I wonder if someone put in a fighter jet ejector seat if they'd have to demonstrate it, heh heh.
Where is Dennis? definitely thought he would be there .
This makes me more nervous than your drag runs
How fast are you trying to go? What record are you running on?
can you wash those gloves or do something to brake them it fast? i hate new gloves, good luck
