Gramma needs to take custody or the kids will die. The daughter will go back to him when he gets out. She's weak. I have 2 boys and a granddaughter and I would die for those 3. I would NEVER allow an abuser to touch my kids. Weak weak weak.

I almost agree but don't say she's weak. People stay in abusive relationships for various reasons unfortunately (I've dealt with it personally). She needs help, not to be pushed away. She's wrong in this situation but it's not as simple as that.

Never let an abuser tell you they love you. If they hit you, then they don't love you, even if they say they do. They just love the power they have over you. Not you as a person. You and your children deserve better, and NEVER EVER let another person touch your children!

Keep in mind that it's the grandparents failure of raising their own kids correctly that leads to their grandchildren being abused. The grandmother let a man beat her in front of her daughter and now the daughter is being abused by a man. Like mother like daughter.

She knows that she's not meant to make the same mistakes that her mum made. They even said it in the beginning that growing up she said she didn't want to be a single mum like her mum was. F*ck off. You have no clue how nearly impossible it is to leave ab*sive relationships, privileged little boy. Thousands and thousands of women have been k*lled for attempting to leave a relationship. It’s. Not. That. Easy. Again, you’re clearly so privileged and stuck in your bubble. A woman not wanting to be k*lled IS NOT JUST AN EXCUSE.

If anyone lays their hands on anyone it's wrong, especially in a relationship. If a guy hits his girlfriend it's wrong, and if a woman hits her boyfriend, it's also wrong. Just because you have a vagina doesn't mean you are the victim or are incapable of spousal abuse. If you think it's bullshit that a man can be subject to spousal abuse, you're dead wrong and you might as well be saying that a woman is too weak to cause any serious damage. Hitting someone you claim to love is wrong, no matter the gender.

She always took his side and even would make US apologize for "provoking" him. I honestly have a hard time feeling sorry for Toni. I am still damaged from the emotional and physical abuse from my dad that could have been prevented had my mom actually taken some initiative and woken the hell up. I'm married and we have no children, but for the life of me, this episode is like a story we all hear. A woman is with a man that uses his girl and kids as punching bags. And she STAYS and tries to cover it up. Restraining orders is just a piece of paper. Yes, we have gun laws that gives us the right to own a handgun, but we have a woman that's having a second trial because she was charged and convicted for firing a warning shot at her abusive husband. She was charged because there "was a child in the room". Nevermind the fact that this man was coming after her to kill her.

It's easy to see the logical side of things from the outside, but when someone has gone through a lot of abuse over a period of time, their logic changes and they see things in different ways and their self esteem can. Be so damaged and beat down they can't stand up for themselves, their kids, anyone, and not to even mention the fear

Each time she'd phone me sobbing & I'd get her out of the situation, but she'd just go right back to the abuser, so finally I talked her into letting her daughter live with me, because she was abused too. Sadly the daughter grew up to follow her mother's footsteps & marry an abuser too, because for years, her mom put the abuser before her own daughter, and the poor girl got conditioned to be abused...ABUSE IS A VICIOUS CYCLE AND CLAIMS MANY VICTIMS, so if you're being abused...GET OUT & STAY OUT...DO NOT ALLOW IT TO CONTINUE !!! ALSO PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN...IF HE ABUSES YOUR KIDS...CALL THE POLICE NOW!!!

Sometimes, I feel like as a woman, women feel vulnerable about themselves, so that is why they go back to the men they're getting abused by. May God bless you, your friend, and your daughter.

When a man or a woman finds themselves in an abusive relationship, and that abuse over flows to your children, it's time to get the hell out. I thought when this young woman said that she went to her mother's home after her mother had custody of her children, that was where she stayed. Please by all means if you find yourself in love with an abusive person, get out. Deep down you know you deserve better than this, I prefer being single, over being with an abusive man. Please realize what this abusive relationship can also do to your children in the future. Men that were raised seeing their mother's being physically abused in the home, and the mother's do nothing, grow up thinking that the way to show love is by hitting a woman when he gets angry. Women raised in the same abusive home, think that the man loves her when he hits her. It's an abusive cycle that never ends, until someone takes a stand and walks out with the children. It is possible to love someone that is the wrong for you, but don't let your hearts lead you, make common sense be your guide.

Thank god the grand mother got custody of the 2 children. I hope her daughter will heed Judge Pirro's advice and get an order of protection against her ex. It seems a case of the more her mother said stay away, he's bad one the more exciting he was. Sadly to the cost of her 9month-old child, she found out that the bad ones break your heart. This "you and me against the world fantasy" has just cost her dearly.

And what's more impressive is that I'm a 22 year old guy who's not too into kids right now, I can only imagine what a mother would do in that situation, only a scociopathic narcissist would try too keep that person near their child

I do not know if the young lady has any knowledge of how a real man treats a woman, if all she has seen is her father treating her mother as a punching bag; and she subconsciously is drawn to cowardly men hitting women. But she should at least spare a thought for her children. Thank God, the grandmother is there for her grandchildren and they are at a young age that they will not remember the abuse. The young mother seriously needs help, but only she can open that door.

Thank God for the balls of steel of the Grandma stepping up against such a violent man and her abuse - tolerant daughter to protect those kids, had she not the kids might be dead today. I hope when they grow up those kids realise what a Gladiator of a Grandmother they have, and shame on the daughter for not putting her children first, she knew what he was doing to the kids, she just didn't want to admit it to herself. As far as I'm concerned, if you know the abuse is going on but you stay quiet, you're being just as bad as the abuser.

I lived for over 24 years with an abusive violent man. He constantly verbally abused me as well as physically. I understand why she would stay with him. She thinks he loves her. My children still take his side because I allowed them to be taught to blame and abuse me. I lost everything, including my credit that he destroyed, but I gained my freedom and I live my life happily now. Just a heads up to those women in the same situation. The courts will NOT be on your side because you will still be in the mindset of the way you've been, you're to blame. Even woman judges will treat you like crap. Just so you know.
