Excellent motivation for the human! I may have taken steps toward most of these essential skills and equipment, but not enough. Now I feel I can transfer some of my insecurity to your clear preparation for success. Thank you!

Glad to hear it!! Thanks so much for you comment. Best of luck ❤️
I also just learned about shaving the law pad fluff. I had never ever heard about that. So I thought my dogs were sliding because of their nails. I tried: nails they slip till slide. We have rugs everywhere, and once I started trimming the fluff when I do their nails they stopped sliding. Who knew? Not me. I didn’t know that. Hahahaha. I loved your video.❤

Yes! It really helps especially on older or bigger dogs to remove the paw pad hair in order to help them with stability! Plus when you use the grinder it’s just less to worry about!
For the first tip. If I use a grinder on a small dog, I can't bend her leg backwards into the natural position, because the grinder is big and hard to stuck underneath her and will eat her furnishing or her belly fur, even tho the breed is a square-shaped build (mini schnauzer). I can do this with my bigger dog.

Absolutely! It’s about finding what works best! Sometimes dachshunds can be more difficult as well since they’re low to the ground. I’ve found a sling works well though in some cases if the dogs reacts well to it, since it gets them up higher and contains the furnishings 🙂
Thanks for the tips!

Inprefer grinding amd stopped clipping, because i cant see the quick. But i also do my Border Collie's nails weekly.

Weekly makes a huge difference! No real need to clip in those circumstances since there shouldn’t be a huge bulk to come off 😊
My dog hates her nails cut. I have to hide the cutters bc she bolts if she sees them. I do it while she's laying on my couch. Afterwards she lays across my living room mad at me for about an hr.

My two year old lab loves getting her nails cut though I’m not sure if it’s because she gets a treats. She knows what “nail cut” means. We do it on the floor though and she just lays on her back. I give her a treat (normal food) after every nail. When I’m done she gets a nice rewarding treat though. Iv recently started sanding her nails with a file so they are so sharp. A grinder would fix that but I don’t know how she would feel about it.

Wow! Fantastic to hear! If you wanted to do grinding as well, I would introduce it the same way. Lots of treats, one toe at a time. I do go over introducing dremels in my video about how to grind nails if you ever have interest in trying it out. But love to hear about dogs having positive associations with grooming, thanks for sharing ❤️
Thank you very much. This is stressful for me and my dog. I will try everything you advised. What do you think about “ hanging up” the dog in the air, with a holder and pole suspension?

It can work really well for some dogs but others it can make the process more stressful. It would be one of those you won’t really know until you try it kind of things! But trial and error is okay and often beneficial to learn what works best for your dog 🙂 if possible maybe have another person hold and reward, it might make it less stressful for you both!

What sanding band grit is recommended?
@GoFetchDogGrooming
Ай бұрын
A good starting place is about a coarse 60 grit for general work, higher numbers for smoothing. 🙂
This is helpful. But dear lord my Pyrenees lays down so awkward positions and elevation are….not always happening. We do our very best. He was a rough rescue and it took me months of learning and loving and doing one law at a time. But now we clip and grind fairly easily. Just not as short as I want. Every other week he grudgingly gives me a few minutes of his patience. But when he’s done he’s done. lol. Yes to the powder because if you’re clipping at home it’s just going to happen. He’s good but the girl has black nails and randomly will pull so I have hit a quick every other clip. She lets me grind them. And weirdly will put her paw on my lap if I’m filing my nails and I can pretend file hers with my nail file.

Hey you gotta do what you gotta do! Can’t win them all! I have a couple of older big pups who lay on the floor and I do their nails as well, I try and get them to lay on their side if possible since that’s still the easiest way to not have those awkward angles but it doesn’t always happen. Glad to hear you guys have a good routine though! 😊

Don't blaspheme
Why don't you just making short? Show the ustensiles you use and demonstrate. Who has so much time to hear all the thing in between?😊 I really wanted to learn but your video is to much of talking.
