I am a 62 year old oil field worker from Texas and this is what I think about this guy: Mackie is a great teacher of truth and clarity about God and the Bible I am going through his podcasts again and it’s even more awesome the second time. The way that he brings to life the truth of the mission of Jesus saving the world and in transforming us into this new humanity is so refreshing but unfortunately also so very challenging. God Bless you and your family tenderly Tim.

I have been struggling with this very issue since my divorce, filled with anger and hatred towards my ex-husband for betrayal and the dis-loyalty he showed me over the past 10 years. I struggled with coming up with words to say as I offer up prayers for him, as I sought to obey the command of Jesus to pray for our enemies. This video has made it all clear to me, what that command: pray for those who persecute you and love your enemies, means. I'm inspired and leave after watching this video, more knowledgeable and eager to obey and trust Jesus' teaching on how to be a human and an image of God to my ex-husband now.

You have been traumatized by the betrayal. It takes time to deal w that. And it takes a real physical toll. Please give yourself grace as you figure out how to “ love “ your ex , and at the same time have boundaries that allow you to heal. Been there. God is good , and heals. It takes time and a community of others who understand and don’t traumatize you further with so - called spiritual answers.

I have to admit, there are days this advice is going to be difficult. I work with customers who can be annoying on a daily basis. I pray that God gives me the patience to be kind to them even when I really wish they'd just go away and let me finish my work quietly, efficiently and without interruption as it doesn't usually end. I hope I can live up to this ideal

One of the most challenging teachings I've ever heard. If God is calling me to love my enemies, just as God shows love to the world (he pours rains and brings sunshine on all us wicked), then I have never fallen so short of what it means to love. God loved us (who were his enemies) to the point of death. I can't think of a single enemy I have who I would die for. I would always preserve my life over theirs. I can't even think of an enemy that I would give up my home and all my possessions for. I would still prefer to keep them myself. Better yet, I can't think of anyone I LOVE who I would die for. My friends and family who I hold dearly, I wouldn't even give them my home and myself be homeless for them. And I claim to love them. Yet, God loved us even while we we're sinners. And we weren't just sinning against one another. But we personally sinned against God, in our selfish attitudes and actions. But he demonstrated his love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Many people misinterpret this very teaching of Jesus's love as "being foolish". What is love? We. Need. To. Think. About. This. Many people confuse "being nice" as loving. Love isnt being nice. It isnt simply acting nice and smiling and allowing others to step on you and humiliate you and bully you. Yet, so many of us believe that christians should live like that. How sad. I was like this too, and it was a bad place to be in. I hated living and wanted to go to heaven asap because it felt like hell, allowing others to mistreat me because i thought this is what jesus meant. But as the preacher says, we have to really think about what "love" is. Borrowing his words, "love aint how we Feel. It's the Choice of having a specific, compassionate attitude towards somebody." Love aint pampering kids (being "nice"). Love is scolding them when necessary so that they learn how to behave and get loved and accepted by the society, even if it may hurt the child's feeling or make them hate you temporarily. Spoiling children is like killing them. (Refer to "12 Rules for Life" by Jordan Peterson, or simply the book of Proverbs) Love aint sacrificing yourself and feeling self-pity or self-righteousness while pushing down all sorts of grudges. You might deceive yourself as doing good, when in fact you are doing harm to both yourself and the bully. If you literally do what jesus says without actually having Agape love within you, sorry, but it might be a vain "sacrifice". I'm experiencing such vibrant life after realizing this truth. I misunderstood jesus' teaching for a long time and applied it wrongly. I hope many people learn this truth too. It changed my life from hell to heaven. Dont be a pushover nor "nice dummy" because that aint what jesus wants nor is that "glorifying God" or living for God whatsoever. ❤

AGAPE... the hardest part of the ghospel, believing is easy, loving our enemy, or some person that has caused harm, it is very hard, may be seeing them as creatures of God, not children of God, as for this they have to believe as well, might help. Few have been able to do this throughout history, and Jesus is the example for this. Great lectures Tim, congratulations and thanks so much for all the effort and energy you put into this.God bless you and your family

I’m 38 years in the faith and when I listen to some of your teachings im blown away that I’ve never heard or read anything so astonishingly clear and ringing of truth! I commend you in every way. But you seem to forget the Holy Spirit. That saddens me greatly. To even approach the transformation of these passages just by understanding better the words of Jesus without the Holy Spirit IMHO is folly. Why is the church divided into one part that goes into some foolishness seeking after gifts and miracles, and on the other end forgets that Jesus in the flesh left us with the Spirit of God? I want to end with, again, highest praise for your preaching and teaching. I find your synthesizing of scripture an immense accomplishment and love your heart evidenced in your “voice”. Shalom.

There are many contradictions between the verses in the bible, in a verse Jesus preached "love your enemy" that's good, however when we pring the following verses that are in the same bible, here's the great problem, so open your hand so as to balance between the contradicted verses (peace vs killing): In Matthew 10:34 (KJV) "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword” In SAMUEL 15:3 "Now go and strike Amalek and completely destroy everything that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey" What?! Killing child and infant!! Are awakened man? Sure this not Jesus's sayings, so who? Sure you have no answer dear friend? Wow what love you'r talking about? Answer rationality? As Muslims we love Jesus and we believe in him as beloved prophet and servent of God Allah (the Father) not as devine bring. And we knew from the Quran which is the final testament from the God that the Christians didn't understand the message of Jesus peace be upon him, where many verses in the bible were changed by the authors, hence jesus's message was changed so the real Gosbel of jesus which believe is a light of guidance is no more. --- Here's sincere message to the honest Christians--- May the God guide the honest Christians to Islam, why? Because they can really understand what Jesus peace be upon wanted to tell them. Plesee see chapter of Mary in the Quran especially the verse 16, so be open minded brothers and sisters: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qKx-qLygfKabkpc.html Thanks

If that's true, not the one of the bible. Are you sure though? MLK was a Baptist, right? That's a cornerstone belief for many Baptists. Seems odd

True, he was a liberal and rejected among other things the virgin birth and bodily resurrection of Christ. If you read his biography, he lived quite an immoral life and therefore should not be viewed as what a TRUE Christian is.
