Yeah...frist I thought they are kept alive and they will milk them once every month or so for a long period of time or something like that But this sounds more like a way to extract the maximum amount of fluids instead of thinking of the snails.

Those have been a thing for years Since like the 1980s Ivf and genetic selection. I guess if you mean fully genetically modified babies we technically haven't done it yet (although we can). There are people who are made in labs who otherwise wouldn't be alive today since the 1980s thanks to labs. Edit: supposedly China made a hiv resistant baby so I guess we have started genetic modifications too.

I’m mostly plant-based, only having wild caught fish on Saturdays. In the plant-based world, there’s enough modern recipes to keep anyone happy without resorting to eating lab grown meat. I’m aware I am not the targeted consumer for this product, yet I have serious concerns for the nutritional profile of these products. While they mimic muscle tissue, they lack the nutrients found in whole meat products. And there’s no studies on long-term consumption, because these products are just starting to come into the market for consumers. Will these products cause cancer and/or other health complications when consumed long term? Regardless, I won’t be consuming this.

incorrect. lab grown mean could easily surpass the nutritinal value of "whole meat" products if they were manufactured properly. and yes, since red meat is a known carcinogen, its likely to remain carcinogenic despite its origin, but i imagine lab grown will still be superior, even disregarding the moral component of being more ethical than killing a living being to obtain it

Nah.. you can't replace bacon, beef, chicken with fake ones, changing it's chemistry and making it "sound healthier" may seem ok to some, but we'll see the after effects to human biology years later on. Dairy/milk lab grown products may be a good alternative though. Snail/slime story is pure GOLD🏆🏆The many uses and markets it reaches is astounding to hear. Seaweed zero plastic also very promising and will have the biggest impact. Great watch, super informative

I suspect it will be nutritionally barren, meat gets its vitamin and mineral content from the diet of the animal, I'm not surprised the fake salmon has a very delicate taste, the meats taste comes from diet, we have known this for thousands of years, so we will have fake meat, with fake flavouring added and vitamins and minerals added from somewhere else as they can't be made in a lab.
