8b+ Slab With Good Holds! | Adam Ondra
Спорт
Arco is great as it offers a variety of face and slab climbing. This wall is one of the most unique I have ever seen. Unlike most other Arco slabs, it is very smooth, with incredible and often very sketchy moves. Watch the video of Diretta Italo Spagnola, an 8b+ on a 5-degree slab with notorious Arco views. It is real - 8b+ in a slab can actually have decent holds, not only razor blades! Highly recommended to watch and climb!

There is this one jug, but he's using plural so I'd like to at least see a second one.

Love when he says things like "very easy ... maximum 7a"

To be honest, most climbers can do 7a.
The narration reminds me of when the pilot talks to you during a flight "we're going to continue our ascent through the crux before reaching our cruising altitude at around 8b+" Thank you for flying Ondra Airways.

I'm starting to wonder if I will ever be able to take climbing "seriously" haha
Somehow this kind of climbing looks way more impressive than probably harder overhang routes.

Couldnt disagree more my friend
I love the narration, I am a hobby climber but I enjoyed more than other climbing videos because it makes it simpler and down to earth attitude. Well done!
I'm so happy to see that you are human. Hearing that you wanted to skip the bolt but than changed your mind because you felt kind of insecure is a bit closer to what I feel when I climb my slabs, and I love slabs and dislike overhangs... Grazie Adam
Nice to see that Ondra enjoys all disciplines of rock climbing!
Man that wall just looks amazing. Good video as always!
I just started climbing and there are posters of you plastered across some of the walls. Your impact is profound, unstoppable and immortal. I’m far from the first to say that, but your legacy will be everlasting.
Achooo! Sorry, I'm allergic to slabs.
Great video, loved the talk through of the sequences 🤙
Me: omg there is nothing to hold onto here!! Adam: Good holds!
Beautiful climb! Wonderfully captured on camera. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful little video! Looks like a great climb!
That route and entire wall look amazing! Slab climbing is king ;)
Nice to see u posting regularly again. Awesome production!
Great effort Adam! Thanks for sharing the good holds, helps a lot.
Love the video from my area Adam. Two weeks ago I saw you on your proj to the right ....good stuff. Keep the video and the climbing coming, love it! 🖤💪
Very nice video - it's cool that not only super steep overhangs can be difficult climbing :-)

There's a 9b slab not too far from there!
gorgeous climbing thanks for the excellent footage and narration
Beautiful video, what a stunning wall!
gracias adam, aqui seguimos, apoyando tu historia , gracias por tu entrega!
So beautiful! And love the narration
Adam Ondra, the best in his art, the best in sharing his art.
Looks like we have a different idea of good holds, I think I saw 1 'good' hold 🤣

Yeah that one Jug. The rest of it looks pretty terrible to me.
WOOOOOW !!!!! You make to look it soooo easy, but it really isn´t! Great job! God bless you.
Brilliant presentation as per usual Mr Ondra. Slabs are a truer gauge of climbing ability than overhanging routes in my opinion. Saw a guy who could climb overhanging 5.12c/7b+ completely unable to climb 5.7/5 slab.

I wouldn't say "truer", but definitely different. Rock type matters a lot also.
Would be great if you came and tried the meltdown 9a in Llanberis to see how far you could push your slab climbing ability
I think I was starting to take drone POV for granted. Great footage, really helps to appreciate Adams climbing.
Wonderful route. Love the classic naming too.
Incredible views 👍🏻 great job Adam 👌the quality of your films will get better and better 🎥 best cinematic greetings from a Frankenjura filmmaker

That last shot of him sitting on the rock, but not as the focus of the shot. Just amazing.
This was my kind of climbing (simpler/easier) but slabs...beautiful stuff. Nice one Adam...
So nice! Love me some slab climbing!
These videos are next leval. Best climbing videos on KZread.
Bellissimo video complimenti!
Italy is so beautiful! My ancestors homeland is calling me back!!
Leading hard slab takes a whole new level of mental fortitude compared to overhangs. Looks like a beautiful route, congrats on the FA!!
What a great attitude he has to be a climbing ambassador.
Slab climbing is so elegant!
Beautiful in every way, headed to smith rock next week, no climbing but still have to go see my old stomping grounds
Beautiful
Wow this is absolute the ultimate experience in life.
u give me so much inspiration man, i love u
Excelentní. Ve tvém podání to vypadá "na pohodu" 😁
Супер круто!!!! Я за Адамом очень давно наблюдаю начиная с соревнований и т.д. Вызывает восхищение!!!!👍

The video quality is so good
im addicted to your videos
That is a beautiful location.
I put up climbing vids because of you adam. You’re my inspiration!
Adam: "this is a good hold" Me, with microscrope: "Maybe I missed something"
Amazing😍
yeah that final jump into the crack....breeezy!
Nice video 👍
Slab with good holds! Haha amazing
We have been there just before pandemic. That was amazing sector.
Adam hangs his own draws! He's just like you and me!
Awesome!
Thank you!
É muita coragem ! ! !
Perfect...!!!... REAL PERFECT 💥🎯🥇❣
Greatest your motion!
Do toho Adame
Great Video! Adam, please consider going to La Pedriza in Madrid, it's slab and Boulder paradise, would be awesome to see a video of u there!
The route of my nightmares ♡
“8b+ slab with good holds” somebody is lying in this statement lmao
What a beast
Muita coragem 👏👏👏👍
loved it all. relaxing to watch.. some how?
That looked easy! For Adam's standards, I probably wouldn't even get started.
Am I the only one who is deeply impressed by how Adam uses his thumbs?
Slabs give me sweaty palms even just watching
fajny film, pozdrawiam
I was in Arco a few weeks ago and climbed at the Spiaggia delle Lucertole, which has a similar climbing style (just a lot easier and rougher) and is situated directly over the lake Garda. That was so much fun :) Did Adam already climb the Face and Kanal im Rücken in Altmühltal? They are the worlds first 8a+ and 8b and also very slippery and slaby.
@Fluflo83

Spiaggia delle lucertole Is way harder style, like the old style and grade. This line is kinda of new....

Adam must come check out the Altmühltal! Recently a local made the first ascent ascent of the first 8b+ slab in the valley. Contrary to the route in the video it is super bouldery and cruxy. It would be incredible to see you try the route, maybe even onsight. It could be a cool challenge! This plus the super historic Face and Kanal should be enough reasons for a visit and there are more even harder routes ;)
@miroz5824

Yeah, I am also waiting for him to discover Altmühltal :) But there ale also so many spots for him to go it might never happen... :)
Holds look sick I want these in my local gym
His English is so good!
Nice video Adam. Have you ever climbed on Llanberris Slate in Wales?
nice!
Wow! Amazing video!
Süperrr 👏👏🧿🧿 Maşallah ..
Невероятно 👏
Please do a colab with the Wideboyz and do some roofcrack climbing in their celler or offwidthing! Love your content
Finally a climber who didn't skip leg day
Superlativo
Best Climber ever!
Nice
The drone sound is so ominous to me. Makes it feel so suspenseful
Magic
My first lead climb was a 6a slab. I didnt even know what a slab was. I assumed the low angle part was just leading into the real cllmb above. Then I got there and there were no holds. Was so insecure feeling. Can't even imagine a high grade slab. Was sweating watching this video more than any other.
👍... poi lo guardo ...
godlike
Quite a long sustained route, some very high feet!
While I don't typically gravitate toward slabs... this did look quite scenic and interesting movement.
So now I'm reassessing what is a slab climb in Australia 🙃 It's potentially anything on Taipan wall 👌
The thumbnail made it look like you were soloing it I was like WAT
This made me feel sick. I just cannot understand how he's so calm and collected. Spose that's why he's the best in the world. Namaste x
pěkně, pro mě lepší výkon jak převisy, v technice se ukáže, kdo je dobrý lezec a ne silný gymnasta...💪
3:40 the thumb grip only... wow...
"Raindrops"? Those sound like "Revenge Popcorn"!
