Installing an 88cc Big Bore kit on a 1978 Honda Z50A. I also changed some seals and gaskets and upgraded some bolts to allen bolts. To purchase these same parts see the links:

The "phillips head" screws on that Honda- and most other Japanese stuff are actually JIS or Japanese Industrial Standard head. The JIS and Phillips heads are slightly different. Using the correct JIS screwdriver or tip makes removal much easier and can minimize any damage to the screw head.

True. But good luck removing 40 plus year old screws from a motorcycle case without using an impact driver. JIS or othetwise.

On these engines it also pays to clean out the centrifugal oil filter. The filter screen just takes care of the big parts, but the finer parts are in the clutch. It is located in the clutch under the little plate secured by three or four screws. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mYKGza-TnNPOnrg.html has them both in view.

Hi..I'm really glad I came across your vidd..I was wanting to put a big bore Kitt in my 69 Z-50 hardtail and was wondering what big bore kits were out there?? I wanted to ask u if this 88cc kit u put on ur 50 was the biggest kit made for the Z-50 ?? I'm guessing it is?? And in ur vidd you said it came with a upgraded carb and Jett kit.. my question is the jet that came in the new carburetor was to lean from the gett go?? And u then putt a bigger jet I'm it?? Does the carburetor kit that comes with the bigg bore Kitt come with multiple jetts?? And can u tell me what new size jet u put in ?? Then at the end of ur vidd u put octane booster in it and it looked like it really liked that xxtra boost. With putting the bigg bore kit in it do u have to always add the octane boost in it for it to run smoothly and not knock?? Or does premium gas work ok with no octane boost in it??? Sorry for the 100 questions..lol.. but that's great vidd and definitely helped me figure out what big bore kit to go with for my bike.. I also appreciate in advance u helping me with the answers to my questions.....take care and thanks again.......Ray
