Very cool to see that particular swap done ! I have a 87 TC and have been on the fence about keeping the Lima or going with a 4 or 6 cylinder ecoboost. Love to see some more videos of the build 👍🏼

The eccoboost is the perfect motor to swap in both the turbo coupe and SC and keep them as intended forced indiction 4 and 6 cylinders.

AWESOME! Like the other poster said I've been thinking about this for a while and wanted to be the first to do it but now at least there's proof of concept. I read on some forums a lot of folks said this would never even work b/c it costs too much, the engine is too wide, the control pack won't work, blah, blah, blah. As usual now the haters can STFU! You definitely need to post a dyno vid when you get everything buttoned up and work on the final tune. A few questions: 1. What ecoboost engine did you use ( gen 1 or gen 2 )? 2. Where did you source ( crate engine or salvage )? 3. What was the general lay out in time and cost? If Ford ever gets off there duff and offers the 450hp H.O. 3.5l eb as a crate engine I want to use swap that and T56 trans in to an 87/88 TC!

1988 Turbo Coupe Thunderbird was my first car. Wish I still had her.

You know, I forgot all about those late Models Turbo 4cly Turbo 2.3L Thunderbirds back in the 80's!...This was a good Idea to Swap a EcoBoost 3.5L Twin Turbo V6 engine into it!...kinda like the AWD Taurus SHO except you have a 2Dr. Coupe vs. a 4Dr SHO!...God Bless!

Easy, I used a Ford Racing Control Pack. It only take a few connections to get running.

need more details about this swap. I have been considering a 3.5 eb swap into a turbo coup for some time now. what issues did you run into? do you have a build log? did you do it yourself or did u use a shop? manual or auto? I have a lot of questions

I did everything myself. There is somewhat of a build log on the EB swap facebook page. It is a auto, the 6R80 six speed. There are plenty of issues that popped up. It is a custom build there are no direct fit swap parts, just about everything has to modified or hand built. Most of the issues are documented on the FB page.
