Really looking forward in getting this. It’s a shame HMV doesn’t stock Eureka films as they’re the only physical media shop that stocks boutique labels in the high street. Although Amazon is a few pounds cheaper than HMV. Great video as always.

Thank you mate, it did seem very strange that Eureka decided to move away from supplying Fopp and HMV! It's much easier to make impulse purchases when you can browse in store and check out the boxes!

Great video mate, looks very nice. I must admit I generally don't go for modern action films - I prefer traditional kung fu cinema and although we have been served well by Eureka, Arrow and 88 Films recently - I am kind of sad that period of time is over. I am however very excited for the Eureka release of Hopping mad (I have probably got the title wrong) The Mr Vampire sequels. Always a pleasure to watch sir.

Love the 88 work. However I have the film on DVD from 20+ years ago and I would not care to buy it on Blu Ray, it is not one of Michelle's best. Good work as always Dragon.

Thank you and fair enough mate, yeah, I def prefer Yes Madam, and maybe even Supercop2 slightly more than MW, but had sold my old HKL dvd ages ago, so went with this for the Sean Longmore art and for Frank's commentary track :)

Apologies, man, would have helped you out on the affiliate links but I've already pre-ordered the Eureka one long ago and it just arrived yesterday. The 88 one has a thicker booklet and a poster, but because this is kind of a blind buy sinceI haven't seen the movie before, so I'm not a fan enough for the extra poster and thicker booklet to matter. I've only seen the first 15 minutes (I made it a habit to immediately test every disc I buy) and so far it doesn't look like the film is going to turn me into one. Hopefully, Royal Warriors will be better (also never saw that one before).

No worries mate! Stoked you got your Eureka version. My gut says you’ll likely prefer Royal Warriors over Magnificent Warriors ( I do quite a bit) I’m gonna get the 88 total warriors / In The Line of Duty, so opted to stick with them for magnificent too :) let me know what you think of the movie once you finish it!

@@TheFanaticalDragon I just received my Eureka Royal Warriors. Watched the opening sequence, and I’m already liking this a hell lot more than Magnificent Warriors.

@@TheFanaticalDragon Hiroyuki Sanada is so young here! And already so charismatic and a good actor at this age.

Yes indeed! Though wait till you see the first Sonny Chiba Executioner movie. Sanada plays the young version of Chiba’s character, think it came 12 years before Royal Warriors :)

I’m surprised there isn’t that much of a difference between extras, people made it sound like Eureka’s had quite a bit more. I do know 88’s ITLOD Box Set has less extras than Eureka’s individual releases but it doesn’t seem to be the case with this film. Either way, this seems like a fantastic release with some of the finest art I’ve seen. Great video as always and keep up the good work.

Thank you mate! It’s cool to get to chat again! I should have double checked before I recorded to be 100% but yep, just one extra commentary track on the Eureka version with Big Mike Leeder and Arne Venema and the different art and booklet, poster, slipcase etc but the main guts of the release are the same. ITLOD I’m too in love with the 88 boxset for and don’t have the space to keep double dipping to had ti take the hit on extras but for those films I’m cool with that :) thanks for checking out the video, was away for a while there, but been stockpiling videos whilst I was away so lots and lots more coming, should get back to every day or so videos relatively soon :)

Apologies for the late response, but it definitely is nice to talk you again as always. And wow, that is definitely not as much of a difference as I thought, just a difference in art and compression. Also, the 2K restoration is the exact same on both releases, this isn’t like Hand of Death (1976), where Eureka and Arrow both use the same 2K restoration, however the coloring for the film is different for both releases and the extras are also very different. Seems like it’s just “Get whatever is cheaper for you and/or has the art you prefer.” I will say, I feel like both are some of the best of Sean Longmore and Darren Wheeling. That’s also understandable regarding ITLOD, that artwork is so damn good, and it is also nice to get the original HK posters for III & IV. And I hope you do enjoy it man, the set seems to be the same exact quality as Tiger Cage I-III, and that are on both are just phenomenal. I also can’t wait to see what’s in store in the future. Also, what do you think about The Heroic Trio and Executioners? Seeing Criterion will be announcing them soon by the looks of it.
