Another TODD'S TIPS showing you the most important Gottlieb Mod that needs to get done on ALL of their pinball machines made between 1980 to 1987 (From 87 to 89, Gottlieb added it...then they changed board systems). This was a service bulletin that helped keep the important return grounds intact in the machine! SUPER easy to do (we have been adding it since 1986 since the service bulletin was issued) but continue to be astonished when we still get games in that never had it done! Were we the ONLY ones reading those bulletins??

Does this apply to System 80B games as well? Machine is from 1985, but noticed T had said up to 1987 while title reads 80/80A

I've also read somewhere about doing the same for the 5 volts that's beside it. Would you recommend that too?

Will this ground mod help prevent pop bumpers that blow their own fuses?

no...that means there is something wrong with the pop bumper board itself, or the coil.

Great Vid! I really like all the vids of yours i've watched so far...probably 40 0r 50! I'm having ground problems with my 'Haunted' haunted house i just purchased as a project. Boots up and plays but no bumpers and most kickers don't work but they have 40V. I replaced this connnector you modded with a docent electronics rebuild (for $50!) but with no luck. Do you think performing other ground mods would help? new rottendog mpu and power supply. Keep up these awesome vids and us newbies need more of todd's.....tips! :)
