80mm vs 90mm vs 100mm vs 110mm Inline Skate Wheels... (WHATS THE DIFFERENCE???)

Ойын-сауық

Why are there so many different inline skate wheel sizes?
Should you pick 80mm inline skate wheels? 90mm inline skate wheels? 100mm inline skate wheels? Or 110mm inline skate wheels and WHY?
100mm inline skate wheels are by far the best. 80mm are ok but slow. 90mm inline skate wheels are useless. 110mm inline skate wheels are the absolute WORST.

    Great video. I think it depends on your preferred riding style. 80mm is great for strict urban environments, 110mm more for trails, while 90mm and 100mm are more versatile in between the two. 125mm are only good for long distance racing. Just my take.

    I go 110 at all times because of my shitty streets that make gravel trails look smooth, had an 4 x 80mm setup for a while but it was honestly just to hard to get around my area for me to skate outside. I’m glad I have my 110s but most places don’t need that large wheels, if you don’t live in an urban wasteland you would want 80 to 100 mm wheels as they will put you a little lower to the ground and make it easier to learn skating ( if your learning still)

    Exact info that I needed, thank you brother! I’m looking to buy a new pair of skates to do laps on a paved trail with rough surfaces. I have a very hard time there on my $80 4x76 82a skates. Happy to help! It’s kinda hard to say but personally I like both 3x100 and 4x100 and keep a pair of both. They’re fast, the wheels last a long time and they cut down big time on vibrations. I prefer the 4x100 for long straight stretches that I can cruise along at high speed and I like the 3×100 for city stuff where it’s hilly there’s tight corners. I need to avoid obstacles. They’re still plenty fast but not quite as fast as the 4×100. I do still keep a pair of 82 a hardness 80 mm times four skates as well but I find myself using the 100 mm way more often. It’s just more fun. Hope that helps!!

    This is a personal attack as someone who skates primarily 110 and 90 mm skates. Haha. I want to try a rockered 90mm setup as I hear that set up is the bees' knees. I didn't feel much of a height difference going from 90 mm to 110mm.....but I definitely felt it going from 110 to 125. I am training for a marathon....so 125 it is. Still getting used to the reduced ankle support from a race skate compared to an urban skate.

  • @TheLastHonestInfluencer

    @TheLastHonestInfluencer

    Maybe it was just the frames and skates I’ve tried the 110’s on, I just can get as deep into the squatting position for a nice long stride and strong push. I can’t imagine 125’s! If they work for you, that’s all that matter tho! Race skates definitely take some getting used to. I couldn’t cope. Funny you mention that rocketed setup! Just bought a new pair and they had the option for two 90’s in the front and two 100’s in the back. I’m wasn’t brave enough to throw down $400 to try it out tho… That’s awesome you’re doing the marathon! When is it again?

    I Rollerblade in Macroblade 84abt, 90mm, and the 100mm, on Hydrogen wheels and SG9 bearings, the 90mm is the sweetspot for me. Leave them Supreme wheels alone,they're too soft. With the Hydrogen wheels, they're firmer, which will absorb the bumps better, and you'll skate faster.

    No thank you! I just in-line skate for fitness to keep in shape for rock climbing and to not get fat in general. 100mm skate wheels would be horrible for aggressive in-line skating for sure.

    @@TheLastHonestInfluencer you could probably still do it for the lols, by removing the 2nd wheel of the 3 and installing some kind of plastic arc instead. you would probably need a cnc to make one

    Does 100mm work on any rollerblades?

  • @TheLastHonestInfluencer

    @TheLastHonestInfluencer

    Жыл бұрын

    Great question! Not usually. Your skates will say the largest wheel diameter than will fit on them usually. The blade runners might not tho. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to try. For example I was able to fit 110mm wheels onto my macro blade 100 no problem…but they just barely fit.

    @@jayy24195 you’re welcome! Happy to help, in-line skating can be a money pit I’ve spent so much on shit that sucks it’s nice to help others avoid the same mistakes I made. It won’t take you long to destroy the wheels that come with the blade runners (10-20km). Get a set of these asap: How to Change or Replace Inline Skate / Rollerblade Wheels kzread.info/dash/bejne/Ymylpc-slpPVYJc.html Those should last you at least 1500km if you rotate them often.

    @@Worth303. you will go just as fast on 100mm like the K2 VO2 S100 but you won’t feel like you’re on stilts. You might have to develop slightly stronger leg muscles but hopefully that’s not a bad thing.
