Awesome stuff
There's usually a guy who goes up to that campground when they're having a biker party.. he's known as the Texas Tom Fugle, Mac McLeod.. he's got a old panhead that is a accurate engineering 103, has a sugar bear springer about 20 over.. I've talked to him on Instagram... builds some killer old school looking fast choppers..

It was a lot better than last year - but missed you, and a few other special friends. Hoping we can do it again next year!!
Rode 800 miles in one day last July on my 1982 Sturgis, from Little Rock to Morganza, LA. The cafe scene from Easy Rider was filmed there, but of course the cafe was bulldozed 20 years ago. I got a photo of the plaque that marks the spot. The Sturgis was one of HD's best road bikes and I had no qualms about the 400 mile ride home. These old Shovels are just as capable today as they were 40+ years ago.

Anyway, the point being to enjoy the experience. For me its the randomness of my older bikes throwing me a curve that I enjoy. Other times the experience isnt one for tinkering. @@SaddleTrampTV My life at this point is filled with very little time off and my older bikes tend to be local rides because of it. I work the way I work so I can put my tool pouch on, my camping gear and a destination far away. I'm looking at retirement soon enough and I'll try the scooter tramp Scotty thing until it no longer suits me. But yeah, I love my old bikes and I've been riding 45 years. 38 of those years pretty constant. Long enough that if I ride from Savannah, Ga. to the west coast on my older bikes to schedule down time. Hell, even with the new ones it can happen. Glad to see your growing and generally happy. As always..... keep on keeping on.
Great you made the trip Corey. Yeah, old bike stuff can sometimes bite you in the butt and then again, it can make for a hell of a camp fire story, maybe KZread lol. I probably wouldn’t dare take my 93 Fatboy that far, half the bike would be missing by the time I got there lol, sad but true, solid mount 131” is too unforgivable. My 02’s I would take anywhere, both carb’d and just run flawlessly.

Nice😊… and it made me smile watching you do those points. Way back when I was a kid, a neighbour of mine helped me trailer a bike home that I’d just bought. Got it off the trailer…. wouldn’t start. My heart sank. Well , this chap had been an engineer most of his life and he knew just what it was. Took the points cover off and sure enough, that little grease pad had a big blob of grease on it that had gone everywhere. Bit of a clean up, it fired up and that bike never let me down. But I learnt something from him , one of many tips and tricks that I’ve never forgotten and that a seemingly big problem is most likely just a simple fix 😊.

A motorcycle trip is like life it's not the destination that is important it is the experiences along the way. My first evo was an '87 rubberglide before that I had a '55 pan, '75 FLH and then a '76 FX all needed daily attention like a high maintenance wife. The rubberglide spoiled me. Put gas in it, change oil, put tires on it when needed but other than that just ride it. I have faith in you you'll figgar it out. Later my friend.

I don’t know why shovelheads get a bad reputation for long trips. I’ve done the entire west coast round trip on a 72 with no issues. Adjusted push rods a couple times since it has solid lifters. Great ride. Hey 1, and 101 all the way.

Who built that green springer chopper?? That engine is something amazing... Definitely m8 heads and guessing the whole thing is a m8 with twin magnetos, 3 carbs!!! Thats my style.. old school looks with modern drive train.. Swedish choppers have been using the twin cam since it was new for building choppers.. the Indian Larry blue and white chopper, the mural on the gas tank I'm pretty sure is what used to be on a rumple minze bottle
